Having spoken to 3 other estate agents in Clacton, none of whom inspired any confidence, I was relieved and pleased to speak to David Allis who instantly made me feel confident that I had called someone I could rely on. Selling from a distance meant that regular visits to the premises were required and David offered this as part of their usual services which was a huge plus.

I bought a property through this agent and found them unhelpful, ignorant rude unobliging. I have bought nine properties overtime and this was the very worst agent of all time!! Far too big for their boots and demanding far more personal information than they should. I refused of course! Will definitely NOT use them when I sell next time. Even the seller was disappointed and said they were unobliging and unhelpful!

Good knowledge of area and property market but poor comms with little to no proactive updates and had to chase them. Provided no notice of viewings despite being asked to do so especially as an elderly relative lived next door and needed to be informed to stop her worrying unnecessarily about unannounced visits

One viewing only. Virtually no interest since advertised. A unique property so difficult to compare with other 2/3 bedroom properties. Probably put on market wrong time of year. Photos and videos were of good quality.
Would have been a better experience if person in office communicated in a more customer friendly way rather than being abrupt with clients. However Mr Thickbroom and his sons were always polite and courteous.

Jack called within hours of my initial enquiry about selling our property; it was photographed, floorplanned and on the market a little over a week later. Paul and the team at Blake & Thickbroom secured lovely buyers very quickly. The team is both friendly and knowledgeable. Our sale process was smooth, and we have Blake & Thickbroom (along with Rhodda & Co. solicitors, over the road) to thank for that. All my calls and emails were answered promptly and efficiently; the advice I was given was excellent advice at every step of the way; there were no hidden surprises. In short, selling our property with Blake & Thickbroom felt like being a cog - at least for a little while! - within a well-oiled machine. Thanks guys!

Unfortunately we can’t rate these agents favourably.
The initial instruction was good and promptly placed on the market with a personable representative.
From then on unfortunately everything was a struggle. We were constantly given contradictory information, fobbed off with mistruths and quite frankly treated like we were an inconvenience. Considering we were paying for a service we do not feel this was given.
We’ve used multiple agents over the years and unfortunately these are by far the worst we’ve encountered.
Would we recommend them? Most definitely not!

We recently relocated back to Essex and were keen to purchase a property in Clacton. We had the misfortune to experience TWO failed property purchase attempts prior, with other agents and were feeling very jaded at the terrible expereince we'd been through, with no level of customer service twice!
Blake and Thickbroom restored my faith in Real Estate Agents.
Andrew organised and showed us around 8 properties in one day, all at very short notice. 4 of these were solid contenders and one we consequently bought. 3rd time lucky!
Paul their dedicated Customer Service Manager looked after us completely from day one. At no point were we EVER left wondering about anything. We were updated at every stage, and I am grateful and thankful that this purchase proceeded smoothly without so much as a hiccup. All staff at Blake and Thickbroom were professional and helpful and knowledgable at every step of the way. Courteous, friendly and polite, nothing was too much trouble and we felt they had everything in hand all the way through.
I understand that the agent is working in the interest of the seller at all times, but even as the purchaser we FELT like we were being looked after at every step of the way. We felt treated as if we were the client, which is exactly what everyone wants and will remember. If ever we sell this property there is no hesitation in who we would use to sell. Not sure that this company are ethical in their approach to the pricing
of the property l was interested in, The valuations are way out of line with the current recommendations by the Move market site I visited- in fact it is over 40k over the guide. I have sent them the valuation report which leads me to believe that they are giving vendors valuations that are not true indications, Is this to get custom ?....

Blake & Thickbroom are good guys. My elderly father was very grateful for the service received in 2017 when buying his house through the Clacton office. I have just completed the resale of the house following my father's death, and am very satisfied.
The manager David Allis is reassuringly sound and friendly, and appeared genuinely concerned (more so than the other local independent agency I had round) with getting me best value on the sale. Paul was professional and responsive chasing up the sale once agreed. Thank you.

Good start to selling our property unfortunately went downhill once we got a buyer. We was constantly lied too and accused of not doing things we had already done!! Very rarely updated with progress only if we rang and after we made a complaint! Will not use again as I don't like being lied too even our buyers told us that this estate agents are known for lying wish I knew that before.

Very ,very helpful and friendly on the phone. However, my circumstances changed and I asked to be unsubscribed from their mailing list. There then followed a voicemail asking me "why" and just be crystal clear, I unsubscribed again. 2 more phone calls followed, which I ignored.
After receiving yet another call today, a third email was sent to them today asking to have my details deleted, and advising them that if I am harassed again, I will take this matter further.
I realise that they are keen to sell properties, but I don't take to being hassled when I ask to be left alone. Maybe I am too sensitive???
Finally. (In my opinion) A question..... What is the difference between this company and Japanese Knot Weed?
A) You can get rid of Japanese Knot Weed.
I will not be dealing with these people. Shame, because they sound really good, helpful and friendly on the phone.

The agent agreed to accept a offer then messed about for 2 days and then sold it to a mate. Steer clear as they dont work for the landlord but for there own pocket!
