7th Aug 2026 (16 days ago)I want to share our experience as tenants with Slater & Hogg Glasgow over two years to help future renters make an informed decision.<br><br>Before signing the tenancy agreement and collecting the keys, we were told that the flat would be cleaned and ready for us. We were also told that a crack in the ceiling would be repaired before we moved in. However, when we arrived after receiving the keys, the flat was in a poor condition. There were food leftovers inside the oven, an opened packet of sanitary pads left behind in the bedroom, and the property was generally dirty. The crack in the ceiling had also not been repaired.<br><br>We also never received the mailbox key. After sending multiple emails and receiving no response for over a month, we had no choice but to arrange a locksmith ourselves and replace the lock.<br><br>The inventory report was another major issue. The report stated that the property was clean and in good condition when we moved in, but this did not reflect the condition we found on arrival. Many existing issues were either not recorded or were not accurately documented. For example, some photographs did not show the full extent of the problems. A sofa that was broken was photographed in a way that did not show the damaged middle section, and the report did not mention that the sofa was broken.<br><br>Because of these issues, when we moved out we specifically requested to be present during the checkout inventory inspection. We even paid for additional days so this could happen. On the day of the scheduled checkout, the inspector did not attend, and we were informed that they had forgotten.<br><br>After leaving the property, we then spent another month chasing reimbursement for the locksmith costs. Even this turned into a difficult and time-consuming process.<br><br>Overall, we found dealing with Slater & Hogg to be stressful and time-consuming. Based on our experience, I would encourage prospective tenants to carefully consider all their options before renting through this agency.- 25th Jul 2026 (29 days ago)Countrywide were very knowledgeable of the area and offered very competitive pricing. 13th Jul 2026 (6 weeks ago)Rettie were by far the most unhelpful agents possible. I had an issue with the radiator which I kept asking them about and they refused to help for over 3 weeks in the depths of winter! I had to buy a heated blanket. Then there was a gas issue which they never told us about which we had to get sorted ourselves. Finally, upon leaving the property, Rettie decided to claim there was a stain on the bed underside and deducted a huge amount of deposit even though the stain was there originally. I would never ever use Rettie again!

A very friendly and approachable person. I hope his work ethic and client centred approach is appreciated internally as it is externally.<br><br>I had a horrible experience with another estate agent and spoke to Allan for some advice, and even though I ended up changing my mind about selling, Allan was more than happy to help me with any questions I had. I truly felt supported and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Allan to anyone looking to buy or sell a home.

22nd Jul 2026 (5 weeks ago)Kelvin Valley Properties have been my lettings agents for just short of 7 years now and I cannot fault them in any way, shape or form. Every member of staff is extremely kind and genuine and they have always been on hand for me any time I’ve needed any help or advice with any issues I’ve had over the years. Being one of their tenants and having numerous health issues they have always gone above and beyond the remit of being just letting agents. Nothing is ever a problem for them and if they have been able to help me be it a repair issue or some advice or just pointing me in the right direction for any assistance I’ve needed they have always been on the other end of the phone and only too happy to help me. My property managers especially never fail to ask me how I’m keeping and show genuine concern and understanding for my health and wellbeing which is just so so lovely of them. Any time I have my property inspection, which is usually every 6 months, they always take the time to have a chat about how I have been keeping with my health and always remind me that they’re only ever a phone call away which is really more than you’d ever expect from a lettings agents. Being a smaller business than a lot of lettings companies out there I think is what makes them so special because they have always treated me with the utmost respect and consideration and it almost feels like I’m speaking to family members. Even the contractors they use for repairs are equally as nice and always take the time to explain what exactly needs done and when and how the jobs will be completed. When I had an issue with the boiler one winter the heating engineer Ray, who was already finished work for the day, came to my house and made sure that I had at least some heating and hot water while he sourced the part needed for my boiler type and as soon as he got it he was straight out to get everything working normally again. I even, because of my health issues, managed to get myself locked inside the bathroom one day, luckily I had my mobile phone in my pocket, I panicked and didn’t know who to contact so I phoned Kelvin Valley and within no more than half an hour they had one of their contractors in my home who got me out and also made sure I’d never be able to get myself locked inside again by carrying out some minor alterations there and then. I would 100% recommend Kelvin Valley Properties to anyone looking to rent a home and also to landlords looking for a reputable trustworthy company to manage their properties for them. They really are a cut above the rest! If it was possible I would definitely give them more than a 5 star review because they really are the best bunch of people who not only do a fantastic job of looking after the homes they manage but also the tenants too and I am extremely grateful and thankful to each member of the team for all they’ve done and helped me with over the years!!<br>??????????

Picked up keys today and very happy with the purchase for the price I got it for - would 100% use them again for another purchase as they have a lot of good deals if you are looking to buy tenanted property.
