The conduct of Carousel over my two year tenancy was disgusting. They dont seem to know the correct laws or regulations. Give retaliatory section 21 notices. Moved into a property in a disgusting state environmental health made a report . Maintenance issues were never addressed and staff never communicated with each other. When I left the house they tried to charge extortionate amounts for tiny things despite prior agreements and the house being in a better state. Refused to engage with me and essentially threatened me that if i didnt agree it would take "a lot longer" to receive my deposit back. I would avoid at all costs. Although they have good reviews from sellers, id run a mile if I were a landlord

We couldn’t be happier with the service we received from this estate agency. The entire team were absolutely amazing from start to finish, professional, friendly, and genuinely supportive throughout the whole process.
As first time renters, we naturally had lots of questions and uncertainties, but the staff were incredibly patient, super helpful, and always happy to explain everything clearly. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and they really went above and beyond to make the experience as smooth and stress free as possible.
We felt completely supported every step of the way and are so grateful for all their hard work. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone, especially for first time renters!

I waa recomended Carousel estate agents from another friend. And i was more than happy to put my property in there hands
I admit to not being very tech savvy and the service i recieved was outstanding.

This is the 2nd property I have placed 4 sale with Carousel due to the excellent professional service they've given me. I've always found the staff very friendly and always available to answer questions or pass an update either by phone or e mail. They have an excellent tool named 'property file' which gives me updates as to where I am in the progression of my sale. I'm not aware of any other firm offering this. I love their photographs and the video that was taken of my property it showed it off very well hence a quick sale. I've spoken to numerous estate agencies and Carousel are by far the best hence I've passed their details to friends and family whom I know were equally impressed and all had quick sales.

Unfortunately my experience with Carousel hasn't been good. There were several issues in the property including one issue they knew about but didn't inform me of prior to me signing the tenancy. It's understandable that sometimes there will be issues within a property but I was ignored on multiple occasions when I contacted them about repairs and after I made an official complaint, they acknowledged that they fell short of good standards in my case (although my response to the complaint outcome was ignored).
The check out inspection was straightforward and I'm happy to be moved out of the property. I hope they resolve any issues in the property and improve their service before re letting it so future tenants have a better experience than I did.

We arranged a viewing for an agreed time yesterday afternoon, and booked half days leave at work to enable us to attend, finishing work 15 minutes before the viewing. We arrived on time to find that carousel had emailed 5 hours prior asking us to confirm the appointment. As we were working, the email was not picked up, so carousel just didn't turn up to the viewing. When I called to ask where they were they said we'd have to rearrange for another day. Very poor and has put us off using them for any future properties.

I told them I was disabled and looking for accessible housing and they constantly spoke over me then put me on speaker and had the office laugh at me. They aren't an actual estate agents, this is a scam and they aren't aware of any housing laws. Don't waste your time, these people are vile. I spoke to the manager and she told me to shut up

This company is nothing short of fantastic. I am 18 years old and pregnant and desperately needed a home to call my own. I called up and they offered me a viewing on my property for the next day and everything went incredibly smoothly.
Once finding out we were chosen, we were being dealt with by the lovely Matthew Davison. Without Matthew, I would have found this process too overwhelming for me to deal with. He made everything extremely simple and was sharp with his responses and attentive to our questions and concerns. He made the whole process actually enjoyable and built great excitement to move on day. We are now in the property and couldn’t be happier!
Matthew’s attention to detail with customers and his tenants is second to none and we can’t thank him enough for stretching to his best efforts to make sure that us as a priority were happy and comfortable. He is a credit to this business and I suspect they will thrive with him on board.

I think this is huge offence to make people stay in line like a group of sheep to view a propery while the landlord is watching you like a hungry wolf to pick the best. The agents bahaved like security and the landlord was disgustingly looking at us pretending that he is not the landlord.
You should stop group viewing and respect people's dignity.
This was my experience of viewing a propery at Ollerton Gardens, Gateshead on Friday , 28 June.

Terrible . I first moved in with no working oven or toilet . They worked it out after 7 months. Then the damp shut all the electric down in the house and the damp proofers came in and covered my home with dust. Now 3 weeks ago I reported my smoke alarms were faulty because of the damp they keep bleeping constantly. So after nothing was done I rang the emergency number and got told I'm the problem because I'm not polite enough then she hung the phone up . So now I'm sat here with no smoke alarms after being told its my fault . I reported it 3 weeks ago.

One of the worst Agencies.
We recently moved in from London. The negotiator told us the the old broken sofa set lying in one of the rooms will be removed before we move in and the stuff lying on the back yard of the house will be removed too. Then pushed us to start the tenancy from the 20th , when it was clearly told at viewing that we will move in on the 24th. Once at the new rented property , nothing is still done, and now telling us talk to the landlord.
Don't trust them with anything they say. This is basically lying where you communicate to the potential tenants that xyz will be done before we move and then nothing is done, asking us to communicate with a landlord. We r one week in to tenancy and the room can't be occupied because of the old dirty broken furniture lying there and backyard is full of junk. Washing machine doesn't work. I mean is it possible for us to check if the washing machine doesn't work on viewing?.
Would never recommend this agency ever again to anyone.

Just had a chat with one of the most rude persons from carousel interrogating me about why I wrote the review. As an agent and negotiator, when you assure a potential tenant that xyz will be done, then its in part your responsibility to make sure its done. A new tenant cannot expect to move into a property with old stuff lying in the rooms or garbage lying in the backyard. Am i to call the landlord for those things? I have lived in 4 countries in 6 years, never experienced these things, where the agency is more interested in their “Ratings” then the actual wellbeing of the tenant. The only reason you called was because of the review, not the stress that we went thorough. Smh. Wish I could give this agency 0 stars.

For a second time, Matthew and Jonny were very helpful letting our property. We asked them to do a ‘tenant find’ and the house was advertised as soon as we were ready, all certificates checked and a suitable new tenant was found in a couple of days. A holding deposit was taken while the referencing was carried out promptly and we have just welcomed our new tenant to their new home. They are good communicators and respond quickly to all queries and correspondence.
I highly recommend the services of this independent Estate Agent, whose fees are so much more reasonable and easy to understand than the bigger companies.

Worst estate agent ever!! Jonny burn has no respect and is just rude , disrespectful and unprofessional. I saw a house wanted it and totally just got ignored afterwards even though I was honest to the landlord. Yet jonny keeps sending houses after being so ignorant no thanks yet told mathew Davidson I'd be removed from the housing list yet still get houses not renting with agents that act like school kids! Ridiculous and think I'm gonna want viewings again haha no chance. Stay clear of this lot

Wouldn’t put forward my application to a credit agency because of a default from 6 years ago (that will be removed from my credit next month) on a non house related debt even though I clearly pay my debts and have an above average income, have got a tenancy agreement since this default on my current property, have van and car finance, phones on contract etc without this ever being an issue - the only estate agency so far I’ve spoken to in the North East that have this issue.
Having a home is a right and is should not be a made impossibly difficult.

Liz and her team were very helpful and enthusiastic about letting our property. Like the reviewer before us, the house was advertised immediately and a suitable new tenant was found the same day. A holding deposit was taken while the referencing was carried out promptly and we have just welcomed the new tenants to their new home, - all within a week! I would highly recommend the services of this independent Estate Agent, whose fees are so much more reasonable and easy to understand than the bigger companies. Thanks Liz, Matthew and Jonny.

We have used this Estate Agent twice now to find a tenant for our apartment. Liz and her team are always on hand to help with questions, give advice and do viewings. The property got professionally advertised immediately and a suitable new tenant was found the same day. Referencing etc has been done promptly and we are now ready to welcome our new tenants to their new home. All within a week. We would highly recommend the services of this independent Estate Agent, whose fees are so much more reasonable than the bigger companies. Thanks Liz!

We were really unhappy with the treatment we received from this estate agents as renters and after dealing with other estate agents we realised how bad it was.
After seeking legal advice when we were finding ways to get out of our contract, we were told that we should never have signed the contract “the contract looked like it had been copy and pasted from google and contradicted itself completely”. We also unfortunately had huge problems with our landlord and although I understand and respect that they had nothing to do with the estate agents, whenever we rang Carousel to ask about information we were always told “they aren’t a bad landlord they just don’t know what they’re doing” …so why did you feel comfortable as a company to allow us to sign?
We were also charged a ridiculously high fee of finding new tenants which although was clarified in our contract, no number was ever written or told to us - however we take complete responsibility for signing a contract like that.
I’m sure they themselves are lovely people however as customers we never felt supported by the company and never felt like they had our best interest in mind.

Me and my partner had to be moved fairly quickly with our tenancy ending and wanting to have our own little first home together and no one was helping us out until we went to carousel! Small but mighty - that’s how I would describe this company and boy were we lucky to find them. Highly recommend, their Customer Service is top notch. They helped us find a rental, when we lived 4000 miles away in USA and moved last summer in the midst of Covid. Liz was absolutely first class.
Having met Jonny too who is spot on with the needs of renting, it makes me wish we had found this company to rent out our house before we moved to USA. The company we did use cost an arm & a leg but were so so poor, in comparison to Carousel.
Brilliant from start to finish. A huge thank you ??????

I used Carousel estate agents to sell my house. Told me about the 1% commission they charged and made a huge deal about this. Never once mentioned that this didn't include VAT. So my house sold, and I was charged 1% + VAT which I wasn't expecting. They are very misleading when they are talking about how much commission etc is. So just make sure you know all the small print!!!

Arrived at the property 5 mins before the viewing
So i called to check how long would the rep be
To only be told someone has put a deposit down on the property and this julie said oh i was going to call you and tell u we are cancelling
Stood outside the property in the freezing cold with my pregnant wife shame on an agency who they dont care about customers in anyway
And not even an apology

Contacted Carousel Estate Agents through Rightmove and was put through to a lady who I enquired about a property to which was available for rent. The lady then confirmed the property with me, took my information to register me with Carousel Estate Agents and booked a viewing date and time in with me. I took a day off work to be able to attend the viewing with my partner and child. I was stood outside the property for 30-45 minutes with no sign of a rep or estate agent. I proceeded to contact the estate agent directly to get an update of arrival. I was then put through to a lady who sounded exactly like the person I'd spoken to the previous week when booking the viewing in. I was then told that they had no booking for me, nothing on the system for me and was advised that nobody at their office could recall ever speaking to me. I was then told I could possibly book another viewing for a different day which I politely declined. I was then offered a viewing on a completely different property which I had 0 interest in. THEN it wasn't until after I'd declined this that the lady on the phone told me to wait a few minutes and she'd try to contact the tenants ALREADY living at the property I was there to view to see if I could go in to have a look around, baring in mind I was not ONCE made aware the property was already occupied considering the property was showing as available for rent the day before I was due to view the property. Very, very disappointed.
