Having just sold through Clarkes, I can say the experience has been first class. Christian worked tirelessly to secure a sale for us and kept us updated throughout the process. Nothing was ever too much trouble for him, and if Christian wasn't available then Andrea and Alex were excellent too and made time to assist and help with anything needed.
The marketing was very good, the feedback after viewings was detailed and prompt. I would highly recommend Clarkes to anybody thinking of selling!

STUDENTS! - Do NOT use Clark’s. They are so unhelpful and with hold information of payments until last minute and do not respect that you need to wait for your student loan to pay rent! Awful!

We got valuations from other estate agents but after our first contact with Clarkes we knew they were the only people we would have sell our property. We are only full of praise for Christian and Clarkes as an estate agents.
When selling you need an agent you can trust with your home (and in our case our cats) and Christian treated our home like his own with the care he showed. I always felt comfortable knowing it was in safe hands when we were out during viewings.
The feedback Clarkes provided from buyers after viewings was really helpful and Christian and the team were always there to support us and answer our questions and worked so hard in our interest to help us sell in order to buy the property we had offered on.

Horrendous I cannot think of any other word to describe the year we had with this letting agent, ria was never available took days/weeks to reply to serious issues and maintenance problems lied at the viewing of the property saying all electrical was maintained and working and that the boiler had been checked and worked perfectly it in fact did not work at all hot water for five mins a day a shower you could only use if you turned on the tap and it was not cleaned or even checked properly before we moved in how do I know we found bones under our kitchen counter bloody bones. Mould growing in the van it's no amount of bleach or mould remover could fight , tiles falling of the wall and plug sockets that wanted to kill you, screws sticking up out of the door framings floor that nearly tour straight threw my foot , two breakins to the property no reply and no remorse we were told it was safe and secured obviously it was not. And the kicker to top it off the toilet was falling threw the floor taking a piss has never been so thrilling. They enter the property without knocking and very rarely tell you there comming over. Good luck to anyone looking to rent with this agency you will need it and maybe a priest.

A highly professional service. From a sellers point of view, we were kept informed and updated at every stage of the process which is a lot more complex now than it used to be. Photographs of our house were so good and resulted in the quickest of sales: advertised on Friday night and sold by Saturday lunchtime!

I had previously bought a property where Clarkes were the acting agent, which went smoothly - So it was natural that I went back to them when coming to sell my house.
From the first communication to the last, Clarkes have been excellent, with great professionalism and competency.
The valuation they provided was well informed, the agent came to the house with a vast amount of background knowledge and research (frankly, making other local estate agents look amateur in comparison).
The final price achieved was aligned to what they had indicated, and was achieved in an excellent timescale.
I think Clarkes really shine in the post-offer acceptance stage. They are proactive and very clear with next steps and dependencies. This is so valuable during what is a complex and often confusing time. The time from offer to exchange was very efficient and this is in no small part due to their work.
I would highly recommend, and have no doubt they would be my first choice if I come to sell a property in future.

Would not recommend to go with Clarkes to both sell or buy a property (if you can help it).
I listed my property with them putting the asking price to what they valued it. From day one a particular member of staff was rude and demanding. Unfortunately I had an offer fall through due the buyers circumstances changing, I then had another offer to which was extremely low. The particular staff member who was negotiating the offer was constantly telling me what to do to get the sale to happen, asking me to accept £20k less than what they had just valued it at and when that buyer flaked out, she blamed me for pushing too much.
They were particularly rude to myself, my partner and my tenant at the time telling us constantly we were going to lose viewings and offers if we didn't respond there and then to any phone calls. I was even in hospital once for a planned procedure so told them in advance I cannot answer the phone but can email, and even then I was being hounded.
When I discussed taking another agent due to the lack of progress Clarkes were making on my sale, I got told false information about the consequences of taking on another agent and constantly told how Clarkes are just the best out there.
When I actually sold quite quickly once I got another agent on board, I went to pick up my keys and had the most sarcastic manner towards me about how happy they were for me that it "finally" sold.
I could go on and on about the no end of stress they caused me and my family. This isn't the first time I have unfortunately heard negative issues with Clarkes since me using them. I just wanted to save a lot of people a lot of stress and time.

We required a valuation for my parents bungalow following the death of my mother. We made it clear that the property was not for sale as my father still lives there and the valuation was required by the solicitors dealing with my late mother's estate. Alex came to see the property, he provided a pack demonstrating how they use marketing research to recommend a price that is accurate for the current market conditions.

I have just sold an ex GP surgery through Clarkes Estate Agents and I would highly recommend them. Our estate/land agent, Steve McCullough, was absolutely brilliant and marketed the property extremely well, obtaining a good price. He kept in touch at least weekly and often daily. When there were problems, he was proactive in contacting both the buyer and the buyer’s solicitor to push the deal through. He even went in on the completion day to read the meters for me. By far the most helpful estate agents I’ve come across. Ria from Clarkes managed to get us a property to move in to within a week and help us speed through the referencing so much so that we didn’t have to stay in hotel any longer than the we needed to. Slow service and unprofessional. Will also try to steal your deposit from you at the end of the tenancy.
Every issue took too long to fix. For example, a full-furnished house was missing curtains in one bedroom, and this took one month to sort out. The hinges of a ground-floor window broke (leaving a gap wide enough for someone to fit through) and this took one week to fix.
The state of the house when our tenancy begun was mediocre, and when we handed it back it was in the same state, apart from a bit of professional cleaning that needed doing. However they tried to charge shocking fees for moving furniture, broken appliances and furniture that were already broken or damaged, and over-the-top cleaning fees.If we hadn't had involved a third-party, we would have lost +£1k.

From the moment of instruction I can not fault them! They were up against needing a quick sale, a tenant who wasn’t accommodating and knowing I wasn’t always available due to personal reasons – Clarkes understanding, flexibility and professionalism was outstanding
Their ability to understand their buyers requirements and their vetting process meant we only had viewings from serious buyers (and we weren’t short of interest either)
They took detailed feedback from every viewing allowing us to know what was needed for a quick sale – as a result we achieved our goal and had a great offer from a buyer able to proceed extremely fast.
Even after the offer was excepted their level of service did not falter due to their knowledge of the offer to completion process and constant follow ups with all parties involved.
I have been through the house sale/purchase process over a number of times previously and I really can’t express what a fantastic agent Clarkes is…they go way above and beyond with their service and really are a cut above the rest! If Clarkes are in your area, then I really wouldn’t consider anyone else.

STUDENTS AVOID CLARKES!
When moving into our student property a year ago the property was filthy. It was clear it had not been cleaned prior to our tenancy commencing. Multiple items were left from previous tenants that had not been cleared out, dirty carpets, dirty kitchen, faulty fridge that did not keep our food cool, mouldy showers, dirty toilets... the list goes on. Within the first month of moving in, we asked Clarkes multiple times to send us the inventory since there were a lot of issues with the property we wanted to make sure it was listed on the inventory as we did not want to be liable for any damages that were already in the house. It was not until February (5 months AFTER we moved in) we received this inventory.
Upon moving out, in some instances we actually left the property cleaner then what we moved in. Clarkes are greedy, and are now trying to take some of our deposit money for issues that were already apparent when we moved in (luckily we have pictures to prove this). When trying to resolve the issue, Clarkes are very unprofessional and either do not respond, or take ages to respond to emails, I had to send a follow up email a week later to get a response. It has been 3 weeks since we moved out and it looks like we wont be getting our deposit back anytime soon.

For many students finding accommodation is hard and stressful, Clarkes DOES NOT make it any easier. When moving into our student house it was left in an awful state! There were previous tenants' belongings, stains on walls, curtains and floors, food crumbs, broken and rusting appliances, a fridge that didn't keep our food cold, sticky surfaces etc. You could tell this property had not been cleaned, considering when viewing the house, the agent assured us it would be cleaned. As we were tied in this contract there was no way of getting out of this house. As the months went by appliances kept breaking... we went without hot water and heating for days, lights went out, power sockets burned out, our shower continuously broke and leaked, radiator leaking which went through to light fixtures. When trying to get a hold of Clarkes through emails, it took days for a reply and when calling their office it was always closed. We had a few emergency numbers, but they always passed us on to another person. We also did not receive the inventory list until 5 months of living there. I moved out for a few months at a time as I could not fathom living in that house. When the tenancy ended, they charged us for damage that was already there when we first moved in. The damages were also stated in the inventory list, so we found it completely ridiculous that they are trying to rip us off and taking money from us when there is clear evidence that it was not us (we are currently in the process of disputing these charges, I haven't got much hope). To sum this up, I would AVOID THIS COMPANY at all costs for the sake of your sanity and money's worth.

From start to finish, my partner & I were fully informed of the process, communicated to on a regular basis & were dealt with in a highly professional way.

I can't recommend Clarke's Estate Agents enough tbh.
After handing over a 'thank you' card & a bottle of bubbly, they did the exact same thing back & we too were given a 'welcome to your new home' card and bubbly!!

What an absolutly incredible display of the modern day estate agent. Only open from 10am-3pm, with coffee making time stretching from 10 to 11. They seem to eventually sit down at the desk around 11.15 to start answering calls before taking an hours lunch break at chicken station from 11.30. After 3 days of calling and emailing I eventually got through to them as a 'landlord' (the people who pay for thier wages) who they "only answer the calls to at the moment" to express my interest in renting a property. Only to be told their website is out of date and the property is no longer available. Just incredible.

Big big thank you to Clarkes for helping me buy my first place!!
I was pretty clueless about processes but Claire and Andrea talked me through everything and were really helpful, got back to me very quick about any questions. Other staff always around to talk to also and polite and professional when asking questions. I felt they genuinely wanted things to work out as seamless as possible and they enjoyed the little wins with me throughout..
Made the whole thing a lot less stressful!
Would thoroughly recommend anyone to buy or sell through Clarkes.

Having had our house on the market for 18 months with another big estate agent and no joy at all (always excuses about why it had not sold) we decided, on recommendations, to give our house to Clarkes Estate Agents.
All I can say is they are so professional, friendly and helpful making the whole process of selling a house so much less stressful. Alex did a fabulous job on the photographs and, well, what can I say; Claire is the most amazing Estate Agent I have ever come across. Our house was sold on the first viewing and she got over the asking price for it.
She was on the ball all the time, keeping us up-to-date and making sure the sale went through as smoothly as possible. We would have no hesitation in recommending Clarkes Estate Agents to anyone, they deserve the highest praise.

I recently purchased a property through Clarke's and have to say the service from Claire was excellent. She was very responsive and diligent through what was a complicated negotiation and purchase, so much so I felt she was my estate agent as much as the vendors.
