I’m very disappointed with the treatment I’ve received from this letting agent. I expressed interest in a property and was assured that Tuesday would be the earliest available viewing, and that no one would be able to see it before then. However, I was then emailed on Monday and told the viewing was cancelled because the property had been agreed let -apparently after someone was given a viewing slot on the Friday before.
I challenged this, as I had previously asked if an earlier viewing was possible and was told by the letting manager, Jenny Draper, that it wasn’t. To then be told that they “squeezed someone they know” in on Friday, who subsequently agreed to let the property, felt extremely unfair.
I’m genuinely disappointed by what seems like preferential treatment. The rental market is already competitive, and experiencing situations like this makes the process even more challenging. If you’re looking for a fair and transparent experience, I would be cautious with this agency.

They were one of three estate agents who valued the house, and Vivienne from Cobb Farr was the only one who saw the real value in it - she instilled confidence from day one and valued it 50k higher than the other agents. Vivienne went on to sell it for just under that asking price just 6 weeks later - a price the other agents who came said we would never get. It’s really important the person selling your house has the same passion and love for it as you - and Cobb Farr had that in bucket loads. The purchase was not an easy one to complete, however Cobb Farr expedited progress at each opportunity by being constantly available and responsive at all times.

All the staff are calm, professional and a delight. Although a relatively medium size firm in Bath, they performance is equal to most of the bigger National/International firms with branches in Bath, in some cases they out-perfrom their rivals. Through high quality marketing and good use of the internet sites they gain UK(worldwide) access to all potential clients, not restricted to Bath residents. We sold our family house through Phillip and his team at Cobb Farr, and the experience was 100% positive. In pricing terms our sale was tricky - a unique house in a location where houses rarely come up - and Philip's valuation was very different to the other local big names, but was the right one. His detailed knowledge of Bath and all of the surrounding villages and locations was invaluable. He was very fair in terms of costs and the service we had was excellent - always contactable, excellent publicity (photos of the house were top quality), good possible buyers on his books, and the years of experience showed in the period between offer and completion when inevitable hiccups arose. Philip's contacts within the professional community were also helpful to us and the buyer around issues of surveys etc etc. We were very happy and had a successful sale at the right value, in circumstances where that would not have been achieved by everyone.

Refused a viewing as we had not sold our house. Apparently "all estate agents take this approach" and quickly changed this statement when I pointed out most don't as I have first hand experience of this not being the case! Then suggest it was due to the pandemic ... if people are really worried why are they trying to sell!? Also when first calling I was not advised this was their approach so had to wait for a call back before then being told a viewing wouldn't be possible - clearly their team are not very joined up. Also when ringing me back they thought I was the vendor and started talking about previous viewers. Overall, poor experience with poor organisation and clearly rely on houses simply selling themselves in Bath ... no wonder everyone is moving to online agents! Not sure their vendors would be overly happy with them turning away genuine prospective buyers!

We've just bought a house in Bath through Cobb Farr. I'm not the easiest of buyers because I was only really interested in one particular road. Vivienne, however, took this in her stride, showed us everything that came up, and after two rejections, produced 'the one.' She handled everything professionally and politely, and even supplied a list of architects for renovation. When and if we sell, we shall have no hesitation in going straight to Cobb Farr.

Decided to go through Cobb Farr when renting a flat in centre of Bath. Found Cobb Farr really helpful in helping us find the right flat for us- really knowledgeable and efficient when dealing with the associated paper work. Jenny was really responsive and available to help with the end of tennancy process too. I would highly recommend Cobb Farr - a very "on it" agency who were a pleasure to deal with.
