I would not even rate them a one star. I instructed them to sell my property and the amount of stress and agro they caused me was unbelievable.
Oliver and Hugh are unprofessional and lied to me on multiple occassions about the the position on my buyer, claiming to be chain free and wanting to complete within 6-8 weeks.
Despite being assured by Hugh who is a co-owner of the business that he would handle the sale himself about my initial complaint, he did not until I ended up in a heated call and threatened with legal action.
There was also a lack of urgency in wanting to get positions clarified and wishing that a magic fairy would come and wave a wand to progress the sale.
The agent from my onwards purchase took the initiative to get the story straight from the agent at the bottom of the chain when in hindsight DFW should have done this. Complete disregards from Hugh and Oliver towards theor fee paying client and lack of client care.
Unprofessional understates the level of service.

My wife and I got relocated to the U.S. and we had to rent our one bedroom flat. I met Mark and he explained the process which was great as we have never had a let-out property before. We choose Davidson Frost-Wellings for their professionalism and their reliability, but most importantly because they are a solo agency. If any problem arises, you deal with the same people instead of a big agency where property management is centralised and it can become burdensome to contact the relevant person.

When my wife and I needed a short-term rental between selling our house and purchasing our new one, we were impressed with the team at DFW who gave us their best attention at all times.
All of our questions were answered without delay and we were never made to feel that we were nuisance. Being new to the process there was much that we needed help with and we received it always and promptly.
Day to day problems such as radiator blockage were relayed to the landlord immediately meaning that our inconvenience was kept to a minimum due to their efficiency.
Coming to the end of our tenancy viewings for new renters were organised with the minimum of disruption to us and we were grateful for the level of respect afforded to us as we were disturbed as little as possible.
I would not hesitate to use DFW again if I was in need of a rental property.

From the moment Hugh Frost- Wellings met us we knew we were in safe hands. If possible, we felt beyond safe once he and his team began viewings. The speed with which they found us a buyer was incredible, especially in light of the slow market.
Hugh or Ben, his associate, responded immediately to any request or query, if not readily available, calls were returned at the earliest possible opportunity. The professionalism and further support during a tricky exchange were beyond what anyone could have expected. This extended into finding us a temporary rental property and making all the arrangements smooth, uncomplicated and worry-free.

We currently have >1 buy-to-let properties with Mark and Hugh, and they have without doubt been nothing short of hard working, outstanding, professional and do whatever it takes in order to provide the best client service they possibly can. Mark and Hugh work around the clock in order to provide the best client service, and no matter what time of the day it is, should an issue arise, they are swiftly coordinating a response to solve that issue.
Mark and Hugh have also built up a plethora of contacts that they can call upon when needed for example with getting gas and electricity certificates in in place, getting the relevant people in for plumbing or boiler repair etc, and are able to remove the hassle for you.

Young chap from this Agency came knocking multiple times on my door seeking a rubbish (house undergoing renovation) removal by tomorrow as the house they’ve sold is being occupied tomorrow. We have a shared garden with the above property and unfortunately nobody ever said which side is who's and it was just shared overall. I told him not to knock on my door again and to get in touch with the Landlady whom lives in Israel, said that he knows that she lives there and that it had been arranged by landlords to have rubbish (house under renovation) removed however our landlady does not have any communication in reference of this as she had herself visited the property this Monday. Don’t send your agents to properties, if you could have left a note or anything of that kind things would have been different but don’t demand clearing within 1 day as it will not happen. And please also make sure that lad does not knock on the door once again because I deem that as harassment.

Sold my property though them in Jan. had heard good reviews but I didn’t have the same experience (before people think I’m harsh I left 5 star reviews for Daniel’s the agent I bought from and my solicitor bramsdon and Childs).
1) marketing - they’re extremely poor at marketing. Before I went with them I was told they have a database of 160 people looking for a similar property to like and they would contact them before it goes on Rightmove. Turns out they didn’t do anything like that because I only got 2 viewings after the flat went on Rightmove and was lucky one of them came through otherwise I’d still be waiting to sell.
They promise premium listing + Facebook + instagram but they did a lazy and inaccurate write up and plonked it on Rightmove. When I asked why they didn’t do premium and Facebook/instagram they made up excuses. They will save every penny. If your house is a tough sell then I wouldn’t recommend going with them because you’re at the mercy of Rightmove. They will not do anything extra to sell your property. They also don’t bother putting up boards outside to save money whereas some agents in the area do (despite the managing agent removing them) which helps explain why they are not able to have more viewings
2) communication - they are responsive. However in my case they brought a very difficult buyer and when things came to completion dates etc they instead of representing me were pushing me to give into all the unreasonable demands of the buyer which makes you wonder if they even realise who they’re supposed to represent . Per Mark: “our job is only to find you a buyer and the rest is over to solicitors”. That clearly shows they don’t understand their role as a broker because we don’t have direct access to the buyers and it is their job to work on our behalf and get the buyer to agree.
In conclusion I wouldn’t recommend them because I’ve seen agents who were better when I was looking for a purchase. I used to get emails for my criteria before they put properties on Rightmove which these guys didn’t do. So if you have a property which is an easy sell you can try them but for a property which requires more marketing beyond a lazy Rightmove add I wouldn’t go with them

Having known and worked with Mark for the better part of the past 15 years re the purchasing, selling and letting of numerous properties - I was delighted to find out he had opened his own agency last year.
It went without saying that this agency immediately became my “go to” for all matters pertaining to my property company within the HA7 plus 5 mile locality.
From the start it felt like a breath of fresh air, a return to the original days of the highest levels of service coupled with constant communication and being kept up to date with ongoing sales / purchases / letting etc. I never have to “chase” - the information and updating is unlike any other agency I have ever worked with.
The wealth of experience both Mark and Hugo bring to the market is second to none too, their advice is realistic, honest and free of the unrealistic expectations re pricing that is so common elsewhere. This knowledge goes some way in explaining why they seem to achieve sales in a shorter period of time than others (incorrect advice and overpricing I believe the core reason so many properties remain on the sales market for months at a time).
As an example most recently having instructed DFW to market and sell a local property for me, the process from instructing them instructions to completion took just 8 weeks, the process completed from start to end with the maximum of service and minimum of hassle / issue.
Both Mark and Hugo at DFW offer a level of service and on hand management that is sadly lacking elsewhere with so many other “estate agents” in todays market. They are therefore and without hesitation my go to company for all property related matters in the locality.
