Our house sale went through today thanks to the team at Gibbs Gillespie...big shout out for Abraham Oommen, who, as a local man with over 20 years experience as an estate agent, has invaluable knowledge...he handled the sale with humour and courtesy...there was a tear in my eye as I viewed the property for the last time...my parents had lived there over 60 years and I was brought home there as a new born baby in 1947..now the house lives again with another young family...thanks Abraham and Adam for a painless sale.

The sale took many months and not without a few hiccups along the way, however Abraham, Adam, and Gareth all did a great job, and went over and above to help us out - even visiting the property to water plants while we took an extended summer break!

I’ve been with Northfields, subsequently Gibbs Gillespie / Romans group for about 13 years. In this duration, I’ve seen their charges go up and the levels of service go down significantly. It’s come to the point that every interaction with them is the metaphorical equivalent of having one’s teeth pulled without anaesthesia. Losing documents and key fobs is par for the course for this organisation.
I’ve finally decided to part ways with them as they’re duplicitous and untrustworthy. Telling different, contradictory, points to tenants and landlords.
Ideally this company would cease operations in shame. But in case it doesn’t, please don’t touch it with a barge pole.

I had a great experience with my relationship manager, Adam, who was very helpful. However, I’ve had issues with the overall company.
When we started the purchase process, we were told we had to complete a mandatory anti–money laundering check that cost us around £100, plus an £8 monthly subscription for no apparent reason.
I’ve been through two other property purchases, and this was never a standard requirement elsewhere. I find this practice quite misleading and unfair.

I don't trust any other estate agent. The team are always brilliant, honest and transparent. I know we'll always get a straight answer from everyone we speak to on the team and specifically Gabriele has been a huge help recently, and it always seems like they work well together as a team.
UPDATE (2 years on): The team continue to impress us. We're now working with the Sales Team (mainly Adam + Rhys) and most people like to complain about estate agents but these guys are on it, honest, and always try their best for us.

I’m extremely disappointed with the service from Gibbs Gillespie.
After four years as a reliable tenant, I’m being asked—again—to sign a new extension contract with surprise clauses like:
• No break clause (Clause 8.1) now states this is a fixed-term contract with no break clause
• Minimum 5% rent increase (Clause 10.5)
These were added without any consultation.
Worse, communication is a nightmare. Emails bounce back with auto-replies like “This address is not monitored,” and no clear contact is provided. The delays have caused unnecessary stress and financial strain.
To top it off, I still haven’t received my security deposit certificate.
Frankly, this is unacceptable.

Dealing with another estate agent at this present time and trying to buy a property there is a significance difference in how Gibbs are much more efficient and communicative.

We did suffer from a slightly drawn out exchange process (owing to solicitors) but Abraham worked tirelessly to keep lines of communications open and helping co-ordinate to finalise exchange.

If you are selling with them beware. As Soon as a house came on the market, we called then many times they didn’t pick up. Popped to their office, they got really annoyed and said they are in a meeting and didn’t want to help. After insisting we talk to them about the property they finally took our details and said they would call us. Followed up and got told off for following up. Eventually they book an appointment after 2 weeks saying they have access issue to the property. 2 days before the viewing they call to cancel the viewing saying they showed it to 27 people and already got 3 cash offers. Questioned how that was possible since we were told access issues and was told “oh well”. Avoid.
