Mavor & Co have been managing my properties since 2021 and I am very happy with the service provided. Communication is good, and they keep on top of certifications and maintenance. They also project managed renovations on a property between tenancies, which went smoothly and had a good result.

I have been wirh Mavor & Co for the late 5 years. They have been great with everything they do; including sorting problems tenants have quickly, keeping me in the loop about tenancy applicants, also up to date with inspections. Also if you are new to the property ladder I strongly recommend Mavor & Co as they are extremely explanatory if needed!

My husband and I used Pat and her team to sell our second property. Thanks to Pat's knowledge of the market and her client base, it did not even make it to the market! We got a sale within a week, a good sale price and we even got our estate agency fee reduced as no online marketing had been required. Not only that, but the people who bought the house have now provided us with a private buyer for our main residence which is absolutely teriffic. If you want value for money, great communication and a fab personal service, Mavor & Co is your ticket. We hope to be in our forever home soon but I will recommend this company to everyone!

Mavor & Co have been nothing but helpful every time I’ve dealt with them. Since Alan and Pat came back, communication has been great, and they always take time to explain things clearly. I’ve especially liked their new inspection reports- they’ve been really helpful. Highly recommend if you need your property to be well looked after.

They are top professionals, they do everything they say they will do. They were very attentive to us even though we lived at the other side of the word. Shocked Landlord
Mavor advocated for an unsuitable tenant as opposed to carrying out proper vetting. After fourteen months of unpaid rent, I discovered that the tenant's application form contained several very unsettling anomalies. If I'd seen these at the time I would have asked questions about the applicant's ability to abide by a tenancy agreement, however Mavor & Co maintain such anomalies are completely irrelevant. They did not question the applicant or inform me. There was also an excellent, five star tenant reference - from a parent. They emailed that the references checked out "fine". They did not consider securing a guarantor. As of July 2024 they argued that tenant references from parents are acceptable. Mavor & Co put me in breach of regulations, making me vulnerable to complaints and fines. The deposit was submitted late; the Prescribed Information was not delivered (Callum wasn't sure what that was) and there was a week without a gas safety certificate, all of which they didn't seem to notice. They were so resistant to providing information, such as inspection reports or copies of safety certificates, that early visible breaches of the TA were missed, and, when they failed to have the portable appliances tested, it was over a year before I suspected they hadn't obtained the required PAT certificate. They had assured me it was done. The following year's PAT was very overdue and repeatedly delayed without explanation. Emails revealed that their understanding of my, and their, obligations was incorrect. I had to complain on an explicitly formal basis to get acknowledgement that they had not obtained a PAT certificate as instructed. There was no explanation for not properly attending to many requests for a copy. It took five long months for Mavor & Co to apply to the FTT for access. Several clauses of the Letting Agent Code of Practice had been breached. In the absence of remorse I reported these failings to the FTT. Immediately before I was to present the evidence to the court, Ms Mavor reluctantly agreed to provide compensation of a fraction of what I lost. She explained it was to end the stress for her manager.

We recently viewed a flat to rent with Mavor and Co and their service has been appalling from start to finish. Several important details on their website were incorrect, for example the website specified that the flat came with private parking, however this turned out to be incorrect. The letting agent was extremely unprepared for the flat viewing we attended and couldn't answer any of our basic questions regarding the flat. Once we had applied for the flat, they called to advise us that we had been successful in securing the flat. However, they then phoned back 5 mins later to tell us they had made a mistake and the flat had actually been given to another couple! Cannot believe the unprofessionalism and lack of organisation within this company - avoid, avoid, avoid!!!

I was the tenant of a flat in Kirkgate (West Calder) managed by Mavor & CO between 2018 and 2020 and I received good service. The rent was never increased; the boiler was properly maintained and the deposit was returned in full.

They don't return the deposit!!!. Be careful with "Gardening issues " and "walls marks". Be careful at the last inspection. Rip off at the Gardening quotes. Avoid at any cost!

Good as letting agents however extremely poor service when leaving. SafeDeposits had to get involved to recover our deposit, taking 3 months. Not surprisingly SafeDeposits ruled in tenants favour, despite their attempts to damage the property further to add to their case. Avoid.

Terrible experience dealing with this agency. Had to live in the poorest of conditions due to the lack of professionalism from them. Boiler patched up every week. mould and damp in all bedrooms. No care or compassion from them. Avoid at all costs.

I emailed an enquiry to this company on two occasion but all I got back was an email asking me to call them??? What happened to good customer service? Tried calling but no answer from their phones?? Sorry but a poor experience overall

Very attentive staff and sold my property within days. I honestly could take have asked for a better estate agent. They were extremely knowledgeable about the local area and did say the house should sell quick.
Mavor and Co will certainly be top of my list for future property dealings and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
