Every single day of annual leave she had booked, she still worked tirelessly to get our house under offer from contacting clients, booking viewings to discussing strategy with us. Having a small baby, she knew this was stressful for us and volunteered to do viewings on our behalf to relieve the pressure.
We had over 30 viewings before we went under offer and never once did she give up hope, Marianne you have been so much more than an estate agent! Throughout my property search as a first time buyer, all the staff at Monarch were incredibly helpful and always on hand to assist. From the initial negotiations stages with Clare I was kept right and given great advice from the outset. However, a special mention has to be given to Annemarie in particular. Whilst my personal process had a fair few forks in the road from things out with either of our control, she was an absolute star. She helped put everything at ease with so many situations and understood exactly how my overthinking mind worked and how over analytical I am, which helped me immensely. She was always on the other end of the phone and answered all of my questions(and there were lots!)
Genuinely could not have done it without her, I hopefully won’t need too much legal advice in future but if I do I will certainly use Annemarie for it. 5 stars doesn’t do her service and patience with me justice but couldn’t recommend her enough!!

My experience?
Monarch really dropped the ball for me, they didn't draw down my mortgage (pre-approved and agreed months in advance) in time for the agreed moving day, so, at noon on moving day, a Friday, I get no keys because they hadnt been paid. Quite understandable from the sellers view.
My phone calls to my solicitor at Monarch's mobile phone were clearly being screened because they went unanswered but were responded to minutes later by texts instead. I drive to their office 45 minutes from home, only to find out they'd closed up an hour early to beat the 4pm traffic getting home, so the people in the neighbouring office tell me. Nice for them, I didnt have a home to move into! Finally resolved after the weekend.
To add insult to injury, despite giving almost 4 months notice of my purchase, they invoiced me more than they had quoted with additions like "expedited documentation" which sounds to me like they billed me extra for their own forgetfulness in not doing the very thing they were being paid to do in good time. Seems like all of the stress of moving home came from Monarchs offices. Months between having an offer in and moving in, and seemingly everything was left until the day before my move.

Monarch as my solicitors when buying a house: My experience with Monarch was sub-par unfortunately. I felt as though I had to constantly chase Monarch for documents and information, even up until my move-in day. There was one day in particular, I was trying to get in touch and saw on social media that they were sipping champagne and wearing face masks in the office. This was most concerning. I think it’s obvious that it’s a rather young company, so next time I will be looking for a company that is a bit more professional with their approach.

There is something a little different about Monarch.
Anyone can say they go above and beyond or that they give grade A service or that they are a friendly helpful bunch.
But actions speak louder than words and as an estate agent in the local area I use the services of Monarch because they are quick to respond to me and my clients. They do go that extra mile to get the job done and they really are a great bunch of people to be around. If you are looking for legal support then I would definitely recommend them.
They have some great properties too but that didn't come from me as in that respect they are the enemy ????. Can you believe that another Estate Agent would leave such a glowing review for the competition. Well I just did and Laura Shields & the team all deserve it.

During my negotiations, I have had problems from beginning to end, with poor communication between solicitors, lack of 1) good support and and 2) no attention to details throughout most of the process. I have had a first entry date delayed in the very last minute due to lack of checks by one of the parties (lack of basic AML checks from the other side). I reckon now this was not a procedure that Monarch could`ve done anything about, but they have admitted that leaving missives for last minute (when it was too late) was poor.
I would`ve not even bothered writting this review if, for the luck of my family, AnneMarie Halley had not taken over the whole process after the first entry date was delayed - admittedly, she is a superstar and made all possible (and impossible) efforts to pull my deal through (on a second entry date). She has moved earth and heaven to make the solicitors from my buying side finish their missives, gave me all support and attention and if it wasn`t for her, our worst nightmares would`ve come true. She is a talented force of nature that Monarch should be thankful having working for them.
I can`t say I have had an overall great experience with Monarch - which is reflected in my rating. But if I could rate only AnneMarie alone, I certainly would lack stars and compliments.

After recommendations, I decided to go with Monarch Legal for my house move and I’m glad I did.
For what is often seen as a pretty stressful experience too go through, Sarah and AnneMarie made that side of the whole house purchase completely stress free and dare I say, enjoyable?!

We have to deal with monarch as a solicitor of our buyers. Very stressful as did not answer on time to emails from our solicitor, multiple people dealt with transaction. It was a shame as transaction which was simple and straightforward caused a lot of stress to all people in a chain. Things changed when people who were selling to us called monarch CEO. Our solicitor was very sceptical from the begining about working with them and said might be stressful as they are known for not being reliable. In the end transaction went thru but caused a lot unnecessary stress.
