I chose to use Nest over any other estate agency as there was none of the pushy sales talk that the others insist on. I also used one of their recommended solicitors, who were just as helpful ,and easy to deal with. The whole process went smoothly, which made it relatively stress free.

Would highly recommend Nest in Essex as an estate agent. They sold my house quickly and when it unfortunately fell through were quick to re-market the property to sell within weeks again. All through the process Rob kept us up to date and was really great. He really went the extra mile, even when I had a few wobbles. If there was any chance of giving -5 I would’ve definitely done that. So unprofessional
As a first time buyer my biggest mistake in life is getting involved with them. They wasted my time effort for 0 results. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Whoever dealing with them make sure you get everything in writing because they change their word in every few hours and very hard to communicate with them because they never reply back to emails no call back either. ????????????????

Me and my partner purchased our first property through Nest back in August and Rob Butterworth was an absolute star from the very first viewing right through to completion. Very friendly, proactive and understanding of busy work schedules but was very quick to respond whatever time of day I messaged, being able to WhatsApp as opposed to just emails or calls was so convenient as well. Rob Butterworth is the man at Nest who oversaw the viewings and subsequent proceedings of sale of my late Mother's flat. At every stage of this process he was an absolute rock and a gentleman, and I don't doubt he was as faultless an agent for the purchasers as well as us the vendors. The selling/buying of a property can be a stressful and daunting phenomenon but Rob made our experience as smooth as it possibly could be. ???? Avoid NEST Estate Agents – A Deeply Disappointing Experience
If you value professionalism, communication, and respect, I would strongly recommend avoiding NEST Estate Agents. What should have been a straightforward home sale turned into one of the most stressful experiences we’ve ever had.
From start to finish, we found the service disorganised and below professional standards. Here’s a summary of what we experienced:
???? Poor Marketing from the Start
The photos initially used to market our home were of poor quality — dark and unflattering — and we had to ask for them to be redone. This caused unnecessary delays and didn’t reflect the standard we expected from a professional agency.
? Lack of Urgency and Organisation
It took much longer than expected to get our property properly listed. Communication felt inconsistent and slow throughout the process, and we frequently had to chase for updates.
?? Overstepping Professional Boundaries
At one point, we felt the agent became overly involved in aspects of the sale that should have been handled between solicitors. This created confusion and additional stress. When we raised our concerns, our request for clearer boundaries was not properly acknowledged.
???? Unprofessional Communication
There were several tense conversations during the process that we felt were handled in an unprofessional manner. Even our solicitor commented on the tone of one exchange and stated she would prefer not to work with the agency again.
???? Pressured to Proceed Against Advice
We felt under pressure to move forward with the sale before certain key steps — including mortgage confirmation — were finalised. This went against the advice of our solicitor and added unnecessary risk to an already stressful transaction.
???? Patronising and Dismissive Behaviour
At various points, comments made by staff came across as condescending and dismissive of our concerns. We felt our situation was not being taken seriously, and this further eroded our confidence in the service.
???? Contract and Invoice Confusion
There were discrepancies between what we were initially told about fees and what appeared in the paperwork. We only received a copy of the contract after completion, which was disappointing and not what we expected from a professional agency.
?? Complaint Escalated
Our experience was so poor that we submitted a complaint to The Property Ombudsman, who has accepted the case for review. The matter also went to small claims
???? Final Thoughts
Based on our experience, we would not recommend NEST Estate Agents. There are many other agencies that communicate clearly, act professionally, and genuinely prioritise their clients’ best interests.
We hope sharing our experience helps others make an informed decision before instructing this firm.

We recently purchased through Nest, Nick was our main contact and he was AMAZING!! I often messaged Nick late in the evening, for my own convenience, making it clear I didn’t expect a response out of office hours. Despite this, Nick would respond almost immediately.
We encountered a few unusual problems/delays along the way (with our sale through a different agent), whilst our selling agent acted merely as a messenger, Nick was proactive and despite not being our selling agent, provided us with lots of advice regarding our sale along the way. The difference in the level of professionalism, communication and ability to troubleshoot between Nick and our selling agent (a leading local agent) was profound. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Nest to a friend or family member and should we decide to move in the future we will 100% be listing with Nest.

Choosing the right agent really is the difference between a smooth move or a rough ride. We used Rachel at Nest she was our saviour following us previously using a 'cheaper' agent who did little more than stick our house on Rightmove. Constantly updating us, finding new information out when communication became difficult with other people within the chain.
This was definitely the easiest part of the move.
We found Nest had our best interests at heart, they listened and advised.

I was introduced to Nest and notably Nick, from Nest by a friend who had sold their house. After meeting in our old home, Nick took us through the process he adopts to marketing and selling homes.
We had meetings with several agents and what for me made Nick and Nest stand out, was his open upfront honesty, no open end promises, no outlandish guarantees. What Nick sold us, was a strategy, a plan and a tried and tested method of marketing and selling homes.
And that is what Nick delivered... 3 times! We were in the very unfortunate position of loosing properties we were buying 2 times, as such we had to go through the process of selling our home 3 times. The one constant we had was Nick, he was steadfast, committed and never wavered. On all 3 occasions, managing to sell our home for above the amount we'd set out to achieve on our first meeting some 12 months before, even with a Liz Truss budget, and rocketing interest rate, he delivered time and time again.
I'd never met Nick before the process, despite running my business from a building only round the corner, but this process has made Nick a true friend and someone I cannot thank enough for the support, advice and guidance he gave us, throughout what was the most challenging experience our family has been through together.

I want to share my experience with Nest in Essex, a real estate agency, in the hope that other potential tenants can be more aware of their practices. Initially, our contact person Nick was quite diligent with follow-ups, creating a positive impression. We paid a refundable deposit of £850, which is a standard practice.
After a year, our tenancy agreement was renewed from December 2022 to December 2023. However, unexpected circumstances required us to move to Australia by June. We managed to find a new tenant willing to move in right after we left, and even the landlord approved of this arrangement. When we informed the agency, Nick stated that £500 would be deducted from our deposit for new tenant reference checks, with the remaining £350 to be returned after post-occupancy inspections.
The situation took a negative turn when the agency started attributing existing damages to us during the move-in period, in an attempt to withhold our deposit. These damages were clearly present when we initially moved in and were not our responsibility. It's disappointing to see Nest in Essex disregarding this fact and trying to retain our entire refundable deposit.
I urge fellow tenants to exercise caution when dealing with Nest in Essex. Their handling of the refundable deposit has been unjust and unfair, causing unnecessary stress and financial loss. Make sure to thoroughly document the condition of the property upon moving in and communicate openly to protect your rights as a tenant.
Remember, sharing experiences like these helps others make more informed decisions when dealing with real estate agencies.

We recently moved house and Rachel from Nest was our estate agent. Dealing with the same person was definitely very helpful and felt more personal. She was quick to answer queries via phone or WhatsApp messages. We didn't have the easiest solicitors to deal with and Rachel really did make this difficult aspect easier. She told us what they should be doing and was relentless in trying to get answers of out them for us. I think we may have given up on the whole process if it hadn't been for Rachel. The estate agent had a professional feel and we would definitely use Nest again in the future.

I can not recommend this estate agency enough. If you are hoping to move contact Nest and ask for Nick. From the first contact to moving day the service is impeccable. Nick’s knowledge not only helped us sell but also was so valuable when we looked at other houses and when we finally bought.
A huge plus is the fact you deal with the same agent from start to finish, so no repeating yourself every time you call up!
These really are the best agents around - do not even bother going elsewhere! 10/10

Nick has been nothing but phenomenal from start to finish on selling our house.
Our initial meet was when we had the house valued. Nick stood out as genuine, caring and an absolute expert in his field and only went onto exceeding our expectations throughout the whole process. He had answers to all my questions and had the most evidence to back up what he was saying.
I hand on heart believe we would not have had the smooth process we did in selling our house and finding our dream home if it wasn’t for Nick.

After a lengthy drawn-out process, I am finally in my new home in Berkshire. There were a lot of hold-ups on the way, (through no fault of Nest) and I was let down by someone who had wanted to buy the property, but then decided to cut all contact with Nest. Extremely rude and inconsiderate of them. Turns out they decided to buy a different property, but didn't bother telling anyone else. This held things up for quite some time, and because I was anxious not to lose the property I wanted to buy, in the end I had to reduce the price so this did not happen.
Dan kept me in regular touch with how the local market was going prior to my securing a buyer, which I found very useful. He was very helpful, pleasant and patient during this stressful time, and whenever I spoke to him he made me feel calmer.

We succeeded to do an almost impossible sale and purchase which included a probate property, to be sold longside our own property for the purchase to go ahead . The whole team at Nest in Essex really are a credit to the house selling/buying process. From the initial viewing we had we were made to feel welcome and had all our queries answered on the spot. It was also really nice that we were left to look around the property alone without someone hovering over us. After that Nick from Nest was absolutely exceptional with the whole process. We had some difficulty with our purchase (no fault of Nest) and Nick went above and beyond to make sure both sides were kept in the loop with what was going on (as you cannot rely on solicitors). Really can't speak highly enough of the service provided by Dan and the team at Nest. Our house was marketed professionally and efficiently, which lead to a very prompt sale. What we really loved was how every stage and decision was explained to us and how it linked in to achieving the best possible outcome for us.
The real value we found, however, came after the sale. The chain ended up being quite protracted and Dan expertly kept our buyers informed so that there was minimal pressure on us (despite the market going a little crazy!). This made the whole process much easier for us than it could have been.
Dan was available at more or less any time we needed him, and has been completely transparent on pricing and approach from the first meeting.

I would like to thank Leanne and Dan at the nest for making the usual difficult and stressful process of selling / buying a house, a very smooth and reassuring experience.
We loved the way the nest sold our home, from the pictures and videos, to the way that they handled the viewings. Everything was extremely professional and they were very supportive the entire time. They have both been an integral part of the process and we couldn't fault them in any way.
The service we have received from both of them has been nothing short of outstanding.
Dan sold our home for more then the asking price and when it came down to dealing with the solicitors, paperwork and questions from buyers etc, leanne was on hand 24-7 to help with papeer work, enquires and chasing everyone.
The communication has been 10/10 from the outset and they have awnsered all of our queries despite the time of day.

I came across the company Nest from being interested in a property in Hullbridge and what a god send that was - all because of Dan.
The house in Hullbridge myself and my partner put an offer in for and unfortunately we did not get it. Very quickly after hearing this, Dan exchanged a meaningful message showing empathy and saying that he is genuinely here to help myself and my partner in the rest of our journey of finding our dream home and he did not fail to prove this.

We purchased a property from Dan at Nest in Rayleigh. Whilst he was not our estate agent he helped us complete on the sale. Our purchase took 12 months to complete (due to no fault of Nest) and Dan was there the whole way keeping us up to date and giving us advice. We used a internet estate agent for our sale who was useless and Dan helped pick up the slack and went out of his way to get this sorted for us.
He was a great help with chasing solicitors for our very long chain and was happy to go out of his way to do so.

Dan at Nest was very easy to work with and I highly recommend! I had a quick sale after my flat was on the market for a year a half and I’d lost two buyers. Dan and his team found a buyer quickly and easily and there was minimal stress for me. Dan was always quick to respond to WhatsApp messages even on the weekend which put me at ease and made everything so much easier. I will definitely be using them in the future if I sell a property!

Well after an up hill battle that I certainly would have fallen at, Baily came to the rescue. She was absolutely amazing through every step and hurdle we hit. A family member recommended Dan and Nest and I am so glad they did.
From start to finish Dan has been professional yet extremely approachable. The communication has been excellent throughout the whole process. He was honest and upfront with the valuation of our house and guided us through our marketing options. The photos and video of our home were simply stunning, and outshone anything else I had seen online with other agents. The number of viewings he booked for our house in such a short space of time proved that and ultimately secured our asking price for us.
He was also really helpful with advice when I was looking to purchase my new home and was always on hand to answer any questions I had or offer his opinion on value and strategy when I asked for it.

What an amazing service! Nest in Essex pride themselves on not being your typical estate agent and we can absolutely testify to that. Nick was professional, trustworthy and honest from the very start and didn't lead us into any false pretences when pricing our property. The photos and video that he took of the property were to a high standard and within the first few days of our property being on the market, he had secured 16 viewings for the following Saturday.
We absolutely trusted Nick with all of the viewings and we're so glad we did, we received two above asking price offers on the first day of viewings of which we accepted. Within one week our property was sold!
Nest In Essex also provide a service whereby they help you to negotiate on the property you are buying, this was absolutely fundamental in us securing the property we now proudly own, with £10k off the asking price and professionally written correspondence which sealed the deal.

I have used Nest twice in the past. Both times they have been flawless. They are honest and will tell you the truth - not just what you WANT to hear like other estate agents I have dealt with in the past. There are no catches with Nest, the are upfront about everything with no hidden costs. If you want to sell your house with no hassle then this is defiantly the company to use, they are truly the real deal. Just being available on WhatsApp was a big help for us as we work full time and have a busy private life with children too. Nick always responded even if I messaged him at 10pm (sorry Nick!). I won’t use another Estate Agent other than Nest. They’re all real people at Nest and will treat you like family. They’re not pushy or salesman like. 5 stars from me.

I set up Nest in Essex back in 2014 with the aim of finding a way of doing everything better, and doing more.
I wanted to find a more productive way, with a better level of service and enjoyment while doing so.
Since then I am immensely proud of what the business has become, and although it would be normal to try and claim the credit, I can put the credit down to the awesome team, amazing dynamic and the positive environment we all work in every day.
The business focuses on service first, meaning everything we do is to make sure we deliver the best possible service, getting the best results and getting maximum enjoyment during.
I understand the general public outlook On estate agency isn’t great and if there is anything I can do during my time as an agent it will be to change a small portion of these opinions!
Anyone thinking of buying, selling, renting or anything property related then please give me, or the team a call. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

I've had bad experiences from various estate agents I've used in the past.
Nest have changed my opinion totally in a positive way on how estate agents operate.
If you're serious about selling, these guys will give an honest opinion on what your property is worth on the current market.
My property is now sold (stc) after being with them for only 2 weeks!
So far, really impressed even with the added bonus that they will help you with negotiations on buying a home for yourself which is all included in their costs!

I ended up buying Nick a bottle of champagne as a thank you, however I feel a cape would of been more appropriate.
I don't usually write reviews, Infact this is my first but I feel it was so deserved that I couldn't not write one.
I met Nick around 12 months ago when I purchased a house from him, as a buyer I found his service faultless, he kept me informed the entire process and made me feel like he understood it was my first purchase, and guided me where needed.
Fast forward a few months, my job meant I needed to relocate, so I had no hesitation at contacting Nick, and again he has been faultless, he was thorough with his research, prepared with a plan and set it into action whereby I sold for exactly what he promised, and moved less then 8 weeks later.
I interviewed 3 other agents, one of which spent the entire time talking about "selling the most in town" and being the "biggest agent in town"... I didn't decide to go with them (clearly) instead went with Nick.
I'm not being paid to say that (although I'm pretty sure I should try haha) but please do not overlook these guys for your stereotypical agent on the high street. my experience as a buyer told me who I needed to use when I come to selling, and I wasn't let down.
having bought a property through another agent now, it has shown me how advance Nick is with his approach.

Requested to view a property via the online site then had an email back asking for my phone number even though it was input online. I also called to view the property and was advised that someone would call me back to arrange in 24 hours. It seems as though they have a hub which then contacts the actual office. Not ideal if you are looking for a quick response, they didn't even know the sellers positon. Then when we finally got to view the property a week after we enquired, no one even bothered to call me to see what we thought of the viewing. There are much better estate agents out there, a fancy listing on Rightmove is not enough to sell a house. No wonder the house had been on the market for 6 months

I dont really know where to start... the team at Nest are absolutely excellent. From start to finish they are nothing but helpful, understanding and so easy to talk to. They are not your normal estate agents and go above and beyond to help. Especially leanne who is absolutely amazing from being friendly, always available to talk and helping me understand things i wasnt sure about. For a 100% personal and professional service I would recommend Nest in Essex.
From the first meeting with Nick when he supplied us with detailed analysis of the market and the true value of our property, without any of the hype and gueswork we had received from other estate agents, to the completition of the sale, we had someone to help us 24 hours of the day.
During the difficulties of coronavirus and after lockdown was eased we had a reassuring voice advising us what to do and what to expect which ultimately turned out to be correct as we sold within a week of the easing and at the asking price.
Nest was a personal recommendation to us and we are so glad we took that advice.

do not discount these guys because they arent on the high street. My 20 year old daughter arranged a viewing in Chelmsford for a morning appointment ( had to be squeezed in due to amount of viewings that day).
Nobody turned up from Nest and despite several calls and being told by reception that no one could contact the agent my daughter left after an hours wait alone !
Be vary wary of this agent as when I called later to complain they had no details on file of the appointment as they close on weekends apparently!

This is the 2nd time I have used Nick and the team at N
est, and honestly why would you even consider looking at other agents. (Yes, there was a certain high st agent that valued my property at 45k less than the final agreed price, thankfully I didn't use them!)
Nick is part of that rare breed of honest and fair estate agents.
From initial phone call through to completion I could count on Nest to be there 24/7 (and I do mean, literally 24/7!) and to take the stress out of the selling process.
The property was marketed superbly. Nick gave me and honest range of what he thought the property was worth, and we hit the exact number he said we would.
We had many viewings in the first weekend alone, after the very first viewing, Nick said "They'll be back, trust me", and sure enough, 4 weeks later I had the exact offer I was asking for.
After the sale was agreed, Nick's support team were all over everything and kept me updated with the progression of the whole chain.
