We have been working with NVP for 2 years as managers of our building after switching from a disastrous company previously. They are the best block management company I have ever worked with in London, and I have been living here for 20 years. The team is very professional, diligent, and hard working. They have managed complex issues that have arisen with success and persistence where others couldn't be bothered. They fight for compensation from insurance companies, manage large building works effectively, and are always available to speak and explain, even if it is for the 10th time! They communicate clearly, are able to deal with difficult people, and stay true to their word. I would highly recommend!

Standards are low when it comes to estate agents in London as there is no training, courses, testing. I have met estate agents that worked the tills at Sainsbury's and as estate agents the very next, so it comes as no surprise that dealing with any - both sales and lettings - is enough to make you want to put your head through a wall, and to say that they are incredibly slow would be the understatement of the year. However, NVP takes this to another level.<br><br>Cannot recommend avoiding highly enough, unless you truly want to test your patience.

Reposting from years ago as I see it was removed:<br><br>Do not trust this agency, everything they told me was a lie. We sold our townhouse in Kensington (we buy and restore historic properties as a hobby, having most recently restored a 200 year old investment townhouse in the states), and are looking for a rental house whilst my girlfriend searches for a new investment townhouse in London that maintains original character, (extremely difficult to find in London as they love to strip the character).<br><br>I inquired about 2 separate houses for let and they stated both were taken (agreed and money exchanged; I specifically asked if these two things had transpired since so frequently in London if someone makes an offer, the agency immediately says it’s taken and nine times out of 10, it falls through, so I never understand why even if they don’t mind wasting other peoples time, one would think that they would not want to waste their own time).<br><br>However, one was reduced a week later (I called several times in the interim to confirm it had gone through, and they repeatedly told me that it was already taken, but in different stages, in a non-chronological order, so it made even less sense and seemed even more suspicious, such as that the lease was signed, then a day later that they were doing referencing, which is obviously done prior to lease signing, with the lease signing being the termination of the process, so on and so forth) and the other was listed by another agency the following week (ie not taken).<br><br>They also stated they would not put an offer forward on either for unfurnished (we have quite nice furniture in storage from our house, and obviously everything in furnished rentals in London comes from IKEA and is the same exact disgusting type furniture that at best looks like it came from a flea market), yet the other agency, Lurot, who listed one of the two houses the next week after this agency had said it was no longer on the market, listed the house available as furnished or unfurnished and confirmed that unfurnished was equally possible and easy as furnished.<br><br>The manager - ALICE - corroborated what the agent - MATT - had said (ie equally dishonest, alleging that the property was taken when it was not, and could not get her story straight or come up with a legitimate excuse why they lied) and would not apologize or even feign to feel badly for being dishonest (not to mention doing a disservice for her client, the owner, who apparently does not want to take a pet which the offer on the table has).<br><br>To make matters even more frustrating (and dishonest), Alice even had the gall to tell me that she knew I did not like “old and tired properties” when I had explained the complete opposite AT LENGTH, that we do not want a generically renovated (I even explained to them how we salvaged 200-year-old wood flooring in a townhouse in the states that every local agent said could not be done), but want something that maintains original character, even if it is just a rental whilst searching for a house to renovate (the one house they have exclusively has original wood flooring). I literally explained that this is why it is going to take a while to find another house to buy and renovate as almost every house has already been renovated and exactly this manner.<br><br>I am not sure what their motivation was but either way, a horrible experience which will be reported to the owners of the properties and the Association of Residential Letting Agents and NAEA.

Pre-tenancy checks could be better – deposit still unresolved
I’m not entirely happy with how NVP handled the pre-tenancy checks. Before we moved in, we were told the property would be steam-cleaned and certain repairs done (also in contract), but none of those was done. This could be landlord’s problem but I expect agent to follow up with landlord or make sure those are done before tenancy starts. I’m still looking at deposit issue and will update.

I have great experience to work with NVP and with Ms Alice Umfreville. The first time I have rented out my property in 2016(She worked in Strutt and Parker). In January 2020 I rented flat for me where I stayed about 2 years and now I am in still another flat also rented with NVP(Ms Umfreville). All above mentioned properties were managed perfectly by NVP and Ms Umfreville.
I was happy as a landlord and also as a tenant later.
NVP is also very experienced and high professional consulting firm for property market in central London.

Not Recommended – Misleading, Poor Service, and Health Concerns
I do not recommend Alice at NPV Letting. New tenants should be cautious, as our experience revealed a pattern of misrepresentation, lack of service, and serious health concerns. Here are the specific issues we encountered:
Many appliances in the flat were not functioning properly, despite being advertised as exceptional. The property was not steam cleaned as promised before move-in, and repairs (such as broken blinds) were never addressed despite in the contract.
We discovered rats in the property and our children have been consistently unwell during our time in the flat. When we raised this with the agent, they dismissed it as “normal,” which is unacceptable and shocking.
Tenants should be prepared for unresolved issues and dismissive responses to legitimate concerns. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Alice at this letting agent.

Do not use property management service. Hannah Roberts from the company instructs various builders, cleaners to consistently trespass onto neighbouring properties, including ours, to clean and repair the building Nicolas Van Patrick is "managing." They have damaged our property and illegally trespassed on numerous occasions. They lack the common sense of even providing water to a cleaner, who then has to trespass onto other properties to find a water tap that actually works. Nicolas Van Patrick is completely unprofessional.

Embarrassing behavior from this agency. The agent had assured us that he would deliver all offers for an apartment to the landlord by a date; instead the agency accepted the first offer they received and canceled the visits with a few hours notice. Completely unprofessional, would not recommend.

All I can say about this agent is they are Absolute liar’s!!! don’t let these cowboys sale or rent your property, and if you do make show you read the small print with a powered lenses.

Watch out for their cars in South Kensington (especially LF66 xxx), they don’t stop for pedestrians who are already on the zebra crossing.
