So far, I’ve been very impressed. I had three valuations before deciding to use Purple Bricks. Rich who came out gave a very good impression - he knew his stuff, was reliable and we were happy with his valuation. I like the online system - for managing availability, property details and offers. We’ve had an offer accepted and it has now been transferred to Move Hub for them to proactively manage the sale.... Probably the worst customer service I've ever experienced. In fact, I'd go as far as to say it's the worst experience I've had in 40 years as a customer of any product or service.

The price is good. That's about it.

The problems started as soon as the listing was created. A "professional" photographer was sent to take the photos. He made no attempt to stage the rooms, and I may as well have taken the photos myself. In the bathroom photo, you could even see his reflection in the mirror.

I was sent a message from the estate agent saying that I could view the photos before the listing was published. However, I was unable to do this because the website appears to be broken on certain browsers, so I had to check the photos on my phone. I noticed that the quality didn't seem particularly good, but assumed this was simply because I was viewing them on a phone rather than a desktop computer, so I approved the listing.

When I later checked the listing on Rightmove using a computer, I realised that the photos were genuinely poor quality. I could have taken better photos with my own phone. I genuinely don't understand how this can be described as a professional service.

I made multiple complaints about this, all of which were ignored.

After having very little success with the listing, I took a break from marketing the property. When I later wanted to relist it, I assumed this would be a simple process, as it was just a case of clicking a button on the website.

It wasn't.

After clicking the button, I was ignored for roughly a month. I then called and spoke to multiple different people on different occasions, all of whom assured me that the property would be relisted by the end of the day, the end of the week, or some other promised deadline.

Eventually, after repeated chasing, it was relisted.

A sale has now been agreed, but I am currently still waiting for the conveyancers to contact me with a quote. Once again, I have spoken to multiple people, all of whom have assured me that I would be contacted by the end of the day.

I have now been waiting for weeks.

The pattern throughout this entire experience has been the same: promises are made, nothing happens, and I have to repeatedly chase them to get anything done.

The price may be competitive, but in my experience, the customer service has been absolutely dreadful. If you are considering using this company, I would strongly recommend thinking carefully about whether the money you save is worth the time, frustration and constant chasing that may follow.

I would not use them again nor recommend them even to my worst enemy.... Very smooth process. Agents accessible. Realistic valuation and asking price. Fantastic photos of a high quality, walk through videos were excellent too.

Got 4-5 viewings and an offer Sold STC in 3-4 weeks of going to market (May 2026). The online tracking of status was very good. The only niggle is that the app and viewings booking facility was not that user friendly (for seller and some buyers said same also). I think Purplebricks could really improve this with only a few tweaks. But not to take away from a positive experience (and great price).... Read more

I’m so shocked at the poor level or service, communication and accountability from Purplebricks. Numerous account contact changes often without notice or update, lost our dream home due to it taking nearly 2months to provide a sales memo. On raising a formal complaint they took accountability for some lack of communication and offered an insulting £50 compensation.
Dealing with purple bricks is so slow and feels like you’ve taken a part time job sitting on hold and sending chaser emails. Please, pay the extra £1000s and go with a real estate agent and save yourself the time and headache!... Read more

Even though I was warned off purple bricks by other estate agents I found that they were the most honest, open and trustworthy. They were great from start to finish. The initial valuation was spot on, got three offers in first week. Other estate agents tried to make me list £15000 lower than purple bricks did. I paid upfront for great value but the communication and service after I listed was fantastic, Shannon continually chased viewings and offers until a form sale was agreed. Not even complete yet. Told it would take 3 months and it's been 3 months and we are no where near signing contracts or getting a completion date ?????? They have been unhelpful when I email them. Don't like the fact the buyer can message you anytime they like to make demands about the property when they haven't actually brought it yet. They are wsnting an electrician and plumber to check the place over first before having an actual survey, and Purple Bricks couldn't care less! We lived there fine with no issues. I thought that's what a survey was for. Got sale of momendum email twice about 2 weeks apart. Turns out they didn't do anything after the first one. The whole thing has been so stressful that it has made me physically sick. Purple bricks have been useless. A friend said they are the house version or we buy any car. Not worth the money. Would recommend you pay the extra and go somewhere else. I won't be using them again and would recommend you avoid them. You basically pay loads of money for a house advert on their website and no support whatsoever. If we hadn't have paid the fees upfront then we would have changed to somewhere else.... Read more

Hello everyone,
I want to highlight a completely unacceptable situation that has taken place at Chapman House in Feltham.

Recently, a keybox was installed at the building’s main entrance — fixed directly onto the brick wall next to the intercom — without any notice, without any authorisation, and without consulting a single resident or leaseholder.

Not only does it look completely out of place, but this installation was carried out with zero respect for the people who actually live here. No communication, no request for permission, no involvement.
Just a unilateral decision made in a careless, unprofessional way.

I find it shocking that anyone would make physical changes to our building as if it were theirs to alter. This isn’t just an aesthetic issue — it’s about rules, respect, and safety.

It’s extremely disappointing to see agencies acting like this, behaving as though anything is allowed and the residents don’t matter.
To me, this demonstrates a complete lack of professionalism.

It’s time for certain companies to stop acting like cowboys.
Respecting the people who live in the building is not optional.... Re-submitted review as Google originally removed this without notice and the right for me to appeal - It's clear that no breach had taken place.

It's not very difficult to see why their are so many bad reviews on purplebricks. I yesterday requested a viewing of a rental property, through the purplebricks website. I was then sent an email, pending confirmation of the viewing and was given contact details for one their of agents. I received no confirmation throughout the day and then contacted him directly via whats app, read (blue ticked) he didn't even bother to respond, just completely ignored my message. Today at 17:57hrs (3 minutes before they close) I received a txt message that the viewing would be a virtual viewing. Common sense would tell you that when viewing a property, it needs to be face to face and I would need to see the property with my own eyes, not through a phone or laptop screen. Not at any point did the viewing email state that it would be a virtual viewing. The excuse that the landlord had taken the keys from the agents for works to be completed, is not good enough. If that was the case, it should of been made clear beforehand.... Read more

I do not recommend Purplebricks, as even the basic service they claim to provide is of very low quality. Be prepared to spend hours chasing them up for the most basic things and handle negotiations yourself. Unless your property is extremely desirable, it will probably take a very long time to sell.

The agent was very hard to contact and the whole process was delayed, from the overpriced identity check where they try to upsell you additional "services", to getting the advert ready and getting the For Sale board up. So much so that I went to cancel the service twice; the first time the agent reassured me that there wouldn't be anymore delays; when more delays inevitably happened, I again tried to cancel but apparently was 1 day outside of my 14-day cooling off period, so I was stuck with them and had to at least give it a try.

I wanted to provide photos myself and pay for the medium-priced package, but by the time I instructed them they'd removed that option. The 360-degree tour they put together was very poor. Everyone who viewed the house complained about how bad it was, and how it made the property look a lot smaller than it was in reality. The advert was viewed 1,600+ times on Rightmove and not a single viewing was booked from those. I find it hard to believe, as it was a very desirable property. It's more likely that whoever they rang for enquiries was unresponsive. Luckily, several buyers contacted me directly through Purplebricks and I started doing viewings and receiving offers.

When my main agent went on holiday, another one took over. She gave me terrible negotiation advice, clearly had no knowledge of the current property market or didn't recognise the real value of the property, and said I shouldn't reject the offers I'd received because "that's probably the most you'll get". I'm lucky enough to have sold a property before, so after handling the negotiations myself I received offers from 5 out of 6 potential buyers and ended up achieving 8% over the starting price. A good property agent would have likely been able to achieve a bit more.

It was very time-consuming and stressful dealing with Purplebricks, and I wouldn't do it again.... Read more

Purplebricks are a cheaper way to sell your home. We paid £1k flat fee upfront and did our own viewings. We marketed higher and achieved £10k more than their valuation, which i think was low. Our case manager was very good, answered questions quickly, late evenings and weekends. The app, which is supposed to help you manage your own sale easily, was terrible. Apparently work was being done on it, but it wouldn't let me see messages, cancel viewings etc, so I mostly had to use the browser login. Despite my attempts to reach him by contacting Purplebricks more than six times, I received no response. I was forced to communicate directly with the buyer to negotiate and finalize the sale.

Additionally, Purplebricks collaborates with a company called Lifetime Legal, which handles buyer and seller identity verification and financial documentation. My experience with Lifetime Legal was equally disappointing. They charged expensive fees for identity checks and persistently pressured my buyer with unsolicited offers for unnecessary memberships and services. This conduct not only frustrated my buyer but also created significant obstacles in completing the sale.

In conclusion, I strongly advise against using Purplebricks for selling your property if you wish to avoid such issues.... DO NOT USE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!
Do not be seduced by the free or reasonably priced upfront costs. Once they have your money, they sit back and do nothing. ‘Property Experts’ are no more educated on your local markets than you are. They add no value and their house showing techniques are lazy and uninterested at best. We listened in to viewings and were horrified. We had to re-write our own property notes and the ‘professional’ photographs were horrendous. Get your own EPC done, otherwise you will pay double and they won’t turn up. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ENGAGE THEIR LEGAL SERVICES. By the time we had found all of this out we had already paid them. In the end we took our own viewings and sold the house ourselves. Post sale services including Memorandum of Sale took forever which seriously delayed our completion. We waited 3 MONTHS to be refunded our EPC costs.
Purplebricks are nothing more than a front to get your money then drop you like a hot brick (pardon the pun)
Take our advice and that of BBC Panorama, engage the services of a local reputable agency with a high street presence. It may cost you more, but it will be worth every penny and will save you the stress, anxiety and frustration.... Read more

I also asked them not to put a for sale sign in the garden, they ignored my request. I had to take it down.... Read more

Overall, vey good service from some individuals. We did pay additional fee for extra viewing service etc. whether or not this was warranted, i am unsure. Personally, my negotiators were none existent as i did alot of this myself. Please don’t use them. It’s more stress than anything even with the paid package. You have to chase them for everything. When I told them this was not working and demanded a refund they offered a partial refund which should have been received in 15 working days. It’s now well over 5 weeks and I keep chasing for an update and get nothing! They false promise you and do nothing. I would avoid this and go for a real estate agent who will actually want to try and sell your home as they have an incentive to sell. This company has no incentive to sell or do anything. It’s a shame as it’s a good idea but things don’t flow together well!... Read more

Awful. I paid for the full package and did everything myself. Also paid upfront and feel they had no incentive to help me because they had been paid. No estate agent showed my house to viewers, it was just a key holder who knew nothing about the property, so I was texting him the whole time. Their third party legal party took 7 weeks to run compliance on the buyer so I have had to be in touch with the buyer almost daily. No one at PB has ever called me back, or chased the buyer or communicated with them in any way. The stress and delays caused by using PB was not worth the cost saving.... Read more

It's kind of hard to know where to start so I will begin with this - if you are considering using Purplebricks - please read all the following reviews and go elsewhere, I wish I had read them first. I hoped that my experience was a one off but it appears that many others have had similar experiences - they take your money, then ignore you and getting a refund under their 14 day cooling off period is really hard going. In my case Ahmet Jamel who pestered me constantly to sign up suddenly became uncontactable the minute I paid. I tried phoning, voicemail, sms and email - not one response. It started to go wrong When Lifetime Legal searched on the wrong property when doing the AML checks. I became so dissatisfied that I requested an immediate termination under their 14 day cooling off period, I was just 4 days in at that point. I was told I could not get a refund until they had checked I had not used any services and that I would have to wait 24 hours - seemed fair enough. The next day the photographer calls. First question I asked him was when he had received instruction from PB - it was after I had cancelled. If that isn't dirty tactics I don't know what is. I was promised a manager would sort it, no contact and no refund so far. You have to go through all sorts of hoops before you can take it to the ombudsman, the hassle is ridiculous and it appears from other revues that this is their modus operandii. Seriously people, just don't do it, it might look cheap but it is cheap for a reason. One final thing you will see lots of boiler plate responses from PB about how they care and they tell you to get in touch with them so they can sport things out - don't be fooled, once they have your money - that's it, they couldn't care less. Despicable company that should be stopped from trading.... Read more

What an awful experience from start to finish. Firstly, it is not free, (but surely everyone knows this by now?) unless you do literally everything yourself including your own marketing and advertising and good luck with that. If you want the usual things, photos, floor plan, a write up, advertising where it matters I.e. zoopla, rightmove etc., then be prepared for £1000s of potential additional costs. It is going to cost you a minimum of £700 if you do everything yourself but just want to be on Rightmove and this is not just a one off cost, but every 6 months there is a minimum of a £600 charge to keep your advert live and still no guaranteed sale after all this so there is an element of gambling and if you have a low to mid value property you should seriously think about whether it would be more financially effective to just pay a High Street agent their 1% commission and let them do all the work with no hidden extras and repeat demands for money. Now onto your assigned 'agent'. Firstly, good luck getting hold of them. They are painfully slow to respond, sometimes taking up to a week. You can manage your advert in your online portal and make tweaks but you need the agent to approve this and action which can take days. Also, the only marketing advice they ever gave is to keep lowering the price in large drops, even if you are already below market valuation at this point. Purplebricks brand took a hammering after they went bust. They survived with a buyout from a competitor but they haven't changed the business model / poor customer service that so clearly caused their demise. Don't bother complaining to their customer services either. They have 'scammy' feeling approach to customer service complaints. I.e. the customer is NEVER right and must protect revenue at all costs, so don't expect any kind of partial refund or good will freebies. They present you with a list of reasons why your complaint is not going to be taken seriously and berate you as if they are defense lawyers rather than customer service support. I would just avoid as the experience is poor and it is 50/50 if you will end up paying more and having more hassle than if you just go with a traditional agent in the first place, who you may actually achieve a higher price with anyway and so won't cost you any more than selling with Purplebricks would. The whole thing is a bit of a trick when you think about it so be wiser than me and don't fall for it. Honestly I thought this was the way forward but I have learned the costly and timely way that the High Street agents are still the better option and can offer an edge over these online only marketers. If you do choose an online platform, don't go with Purplebricks at least.... Read more

I would never recommend using Purple Bricks.

To start with the photographer came to our house super quick to take photos which was great, however he didn’t remove his shoes which meant I had to constantly follow him around with the hoover as I obviously wanted the house to be clean as we were trying to sell it…..

As an over view, they take forever to do simple tasks like check documents, staff don’t reply or seem to care. You have to go through to a call centre each time you want to speak to somebody. Some staff can only make ‘outbound calls’ so good luck getting put through to the person you spoke to the day before!

We were at a stage we were at risk of loosing the house we were buying and potentially looking the buyer of our house due to the terrible service from purple bricks.

Staff do not seem to care, I once asked to speak to a manager and was told you have to request this online I then asked how do I do this and they responded with ‘I don’t know’. The only reason we got things sorted and finally moving is because I called the sales negotiator to inform him we were going to move estate agents (even though we had already paid PB)

Hoping that the sales progression is not as painful however when I had a call to say the memo of sale was finally done they advised a member of the team from sales progression would be in touch in a week…. Why does everything take so long with them?

You literally get passed from pillar to post when you call and also make sure you have 20-30 mins each time you do want an update as you have to wait in long ques and then get passed to different people.

I would never ever recommend PB and I would always rather pay more money and go to a local estate agent.

I have sent a complaint on Friday 14th Feb and was apparently suppose to receive an acknowledgement within 3 working days but no surprise I am still waiting for any kind of response.

Honestly it is not worth the head ache using PB just to save yourself a little bit of money.... If you ready to pay 2-3 times and leave all the work with agents is completley fine. For me most important thing was to have my property advertised which they did. I arranged myseld views which is not a big deal. You do not “sell your house for free with Purple Bricks”, you get to give Purple Bricks free advertising if you choose the free option, ie you get a Purple Bricks sale board, but do all the work. If you pay, which I did, they offer you a similar package that you’d get from any estate agent. That said, my experience is a poor one. Once your property is advertised, the only support/advice they seem to be able to offer is “reduce the price by 5%”. When you sell, let’s say they’re not prompt or efficient, it took a complaint, a poor Tripadvisor report before they decided to respond. Our buyer actually went to their
office to complain at lack of communication!
So in summary, don’t believe the hype, their performance may depend on the region, but you are just as likely &!in my opinion better to seek via a local estate agent.... This is the third timecwe have sold with purple bricks and it will be our last. The previous two sales were excellent but since they were bought out by Strike, they have changed the way they operate and it simply doesn't work. The main issue is that you no longer have one person as your local contact. Each part of the process is now dealt with a different department which doesn't work. People who viewed our property said they had terrible trouble getting through to someone who could arrsmge the booking. Twice we had to wait hours for a negotiator to respond to offers we had received. There were frustrating aspects to every part of the experience this time and we suspect this contributed to the length of time it took us to sell our property so very disappointing after having had positive experiences before when we had a local agent who was contactable by Mobile phone.... If you like being frustrated - Purple Bricks is definitely for you.

Let’s start with the only positives - our local property advisor was very personable and efficient (cynically however - this is where they are selling the service to you so fairly important.) Also, the subcontracted photographer was very efficient and made our home look great.

The rest of my experience with Purple Bricks however, was pure frustration.

Their internal communication / awareness of your situation is beyond poor. It seems that no one makes or refers to notes on your file, so every call is new news to them and you have to constantly restate your position and what you want.

The Purple Bricks App is flaky to say the least. At one point it lost all my solicitor details and deferred back to their panel solicitors just as the memo of sale was being generated.

The negotiations team are beyond hopeless. You get a dedicated “skilled” negotiator to act on your behalf. They were so “skilled” at this - I was forced to take back control and do the negotiating myself. I was “advised” by this negotiator, working to get the best deal for me, to drop my asking price significantly - in direct conflict with the view of their valuer.

The process of getting a Memorandum of Sale was as much fun as removing all your teeth one by one with a pair of pliers.

The post sale team is staffed with administrators who manage your sale progress by sending a standard one line email “Please can you update on the progress of the sale” to your solicitor. They do not engage with you, they are not personable and they are not helpful.

It was not just me feeling the frustration of dealing with this highly inefficient organisation - I had complaints from my house builder, solicitor and our buyers solicitor on how difficult they were to contact and then when you did eventually get through, how ill-equipped they are to answer your queries. Absolutely shambolic.

This is a lesson learnt for me - you get what you pay for. (I did opt for the paid service - goodness knows what it’s like if you go for their free option).

Please take the advice that many around you will be offering when you suggest using Purple Bricks - to go with a traditional Estate Agent - at least you can go round to their office and find them if they are unresponsive!

One last final irony - the link provided to give feedback via Feefo has now expired and I cannot use their preferred channel to express my dissatisfaction - despite my sale not even completing yet!...
