I have to say Ann and Ian absolutely amazing, very helpful and doing their job beyond the standard.
The moment I have spoken to Ann via phone she has been so helpful and informative, the moment I met Ian at viewing again he was so helpful and informative and helped everyone individually and gave so much information everyone who were viewing the property. Very impressive.

Do you enjoy being lied to? Is it a dream or yours to have housing issues that could adversely affect your health to be minimized and simply dismissed? Do you have a burning desire to have leaks and water issues, heating issues that go unanswered? then you have found your rental agency. Speak with Emily, the high priestess of word salads and deflection.They truly display a level of care and concern that is on par with inanimate objects. But the inanimate object, in my esteem, would still fare better in the area of common sense.
THEY WORK FOR LANDLORDS' NOT TENANTS. JUST HAVE A LOOK AT THE DISMISSIVE RESPONSES THEY LEAVE TO FOLKS UNHAPPY WITH THEIR SERVICE. THIS IS THE SAME TYPE OF DISMISSIVENESS AND DEFLECTION EMPLOYED TO CIRCUMVENT RESPONSIBILITY FROM ANY ISSUES WITH YOUR LETTING.

Although people at Sellect Homes are very kind and supportive, the house I bought through them turned out to be an overpriced wreck and a cheat, mainly from the sellers, but I think that even the real estate agency should not have sold it at that price as the whole process caused my ruin. Thus, I would not recommend this real estate.

I have used Sellect for two different services. Initially I used them to let a property out that I owned and then subsequently I instructed them to sell that same property. Both times their service was exceptional and by far the best I have experienced from any estate agent I have ever dealt with. I dealt mainly with Ann Marteau when I sold my property and she was brilliant and thorough and helped the whole process go as smoothly as I could possibly ask for. I dealt mainly with Neal Butterworth on the lettings side and again he was excellent and kept me fully informed at every stage and he was a pleasure to deal with and the consummate professional. All in all I would not hesitate to recommend Sellect Homes for selling your home or letting your home. Top class service.

Unprofessional and disrespectful.
First of all, they cut off the phone lines so you can't call them at all.
They will ignore your questions about their properties and demand you send them personal details in order to even be told basic facts about the property.
They'll do this even knowing the property has already been let. They will make no effort to remove the data at your request. I think so they can sell it on, probably.

I have currently been a tenant at one of their managed properties for over 30 months. Originally I moved in with my partner, but she moved out 8months in. To date I have never been so much as a day late on my rent payments. Recently owing to a drop in work - I am a self employed builder, I have legitimately signed on with UC (solely for peace of mind that I have my rent). It has taken 9 days, 2 phone calls and 2 emails to get any response from them regarding my request of 'proof of housing costs' for UC. And the response? We need to see your bank statements from the past three months to ensure affordability to see if maybe you can stay as a sole tenant. Illogical..

Selling my property on my own was a daunting prospect, so I did my research and drew up a list of local agents and hit the phone. They say you should speak to at least 3 agents and obtain quotes…well that was the plan! From the moment I spoke to Ann on the phone and had a visit from Ian, I knew that Sellect were the ones for me! I went to their office the same day and signed up to get my house sold. Value for money, communication and market knowledge were excellent.

Very Poor Service.
They seem to treat prospective buyers and sellers a lot better than prospective renters.
Me and my wife saw a really nice property for rent with Sellect homes. Even though we are currently home owners we need to sell due to consent agreement from my previous marriage. We tried repeatedly to call and email to arrange a viewing, we tried once a day for 8 days before finally receiving a response. Strangely when you call Sellect if you select the sales option you get an answer straight away, but when you select rentals you just get an answer machine asking you to email. I even tried to complain to the sales department to at least have them send an email on my behalf, alas the chap simply wasnt interested in helping me.
When we finally got a response by email they didnt address my concerns in the delay or even let me know if the property i was interested in (Lugard Road) was still available, they just simply sent a copy & paste list of questions with a warning attached that any failure to answer the required questions will result in my request being rejected.
Still, I plodded on and replied with all the required details, waited a few more days and received the following, which kind of shocked me -
"Due to the unprecedented demand for rented property at the moment and particularly the one on Lugard Road, we are unable to reply to every enquiry or viewing request."
if i was a landlord (which I have been) i have serious concerns with this approach, if you are unable to respond to each enquiry how do you expect to find the right tenant on behalf of the Landlord?.
they also provided some nonsense about needing a family member guarantor (even though we earn more than enough in income multiples and have no adverse credit). Still no indication of whether the property is still available or not.
All in all, its a bit of a headscratcher how Sellect homes treat prospective tenants, yeah i get that they "Work for the Landlord" but still, a little customer service wouldnt go amiss. looking at the other reviews here it seems that sales customers are certainly treated way better than us poor lowly tenants. oh by the way Sellect, I need to sell my home as part of my divorce, i will certainly not be choosing yourselves.

I dealt with Sellect Homes when purchasing a property they were selling. Unlike other estate agents I’ve dealt with they were responsive and empathetic when dealing with both parties and were happy to assist in finding solutions to problems that arose in order to assist the sale proceed. Noticeably when looking for a house they had the price just right, showing a good knowledge of the local house market and how to get a sale at the right price. Absolutely fantastic company to deal with, I used sellect for the sale of my home, they were friendly, helpful and efficient. It certainly pays to use local firms on the High Street. They had local knowledge and it felt truly personalised the service they provided, whilst also giving the same online and media presence you get from the bigger chains. None of this big company nonsense either having to chase people up. Sellect kept me informed every step of the way. I can't thank enough Ann in particular, although as I mentioned everyone is helpful and friendly, Ann is in another league, I truly felt no issue was too big or small and what felt like any hour of the day or night. I work shifts but the staff here and as I say Ann in particular aren't the usual 9 to 5 call back tomorrow. I recieved replies to questions and queries way after usual working hours, chasing matters up or allaying my concerns that we all get selling our homes. I would use sellect again without reservation and would recommend them to all!!

In the last year Sellect-Homes sold 2 properties for me, one my own house and the other a property for which I was executor. I was very ill for some of the time as well as having to arrange a funeral and there were other unexpected problems to cope with. Ann Marteau, sales Director, and Ian Fox, Director, provided a superb service which I truly believe saved me from a breakdown.
Throughout Ann provided not only the highest standards of professionalism and expertise but amazing personal concern for my well-being, doing all the viewings for me, providing prompt feedback, always available by phone, e-mail or personal visits, going way beyond the calls of duty. Nothing was too much trouble for Ann and Ian. I was very satisfied with the outcome of both sales.
I cannot speak too highly of the service this small estate agent provides. Having bought my new home through one of the large national companies who did the absolute minimum for me I feel well-able to compare standards of service.
I recommend Sellect-Homes unreservedly and would award them 10 stars if that was allowed.

As a smaller agency they were able to provide a much more personal service.

We feel so lucky for being referred by our cousin to use sellect home for the sale of our house. Our house has been on the market for sale by another agent. The service was not up to the standard. Then we switched to sellect homes. Within a week we got offer and the sale went through within 12 week at a price we were looking for. The way they promoted our house and the pictures taken were of very high quality. Ann had been very helpful during this whole process. Before buying a house every friend I have ever asked had made the whole process sound like an exercise in protracted misery. I must say, Sellect were great, no part of it took too long and responses were quick. We sold our house with select homes in Jan 2019. The house was on the market for only 10 days! The photos they took of the house were lovely and really showed off what we had to offer, Ann the Sales director gave us advise on how to stage the house for viewing and was able to do viewings for us when we were at work. She spend a long time at our house with potential buyers and was able to answer all their questions. She was quick to answer all questions we had and was available by phone, text or email even of an evening or weekends. I was 8.5 months pregnant when completing the sale and she went out of her way to ensure everything went smoothly. She was able to advise us on a mortgage adviser who was excellent and also a solicitor that she trusted and knew would work to our schedule which was a very quick turn around. All together I could not fault them on anything, they have also sold a house for one of my family members and several friends friends who can not speak higher of their professionalism. Thanks again for all your help and we will definitely use you again if we ever choose to move.

We rented for a couple of years with Sellect and mostly it was fine, and they are easy to work with in general- however if you read reviews you will see a pattern of popularity with landlords and some real annoyance from those letting through them. The team made it very clear when we were leaving a property that they work for the landlord, not for us so could do nothing about unreasonable and potentially illegal access requests, nor were particularly proactive in providing support in an awkward situation. I would advise others to avoid renting though the company, although if you are a landlord I'm sure you will be well looked after.
I should add that they also chose to support the landlord in a spurious deposit protection scheme claim, which took several months to be processed and rejected.

Contacted this company three times via phone on the 21st of June, leaving my number asking them to call me back reference two properties. Had no response finally on the fourth time got though to a member of staff called Emily she informed me that the person dealing with rentals was out doing a viewing and would call be back when she returned. This did not happen. I waited till late in the afternoon and after a number of times I then spoke to Emily again and she was trying to make excuses for the other member of staff and also I felt was putting up barriers to stop me from renting ( I have been renting in Coventry with 5 different agencies over the last 26 years, never had this kind of response or issues). Emily finally said that a member of staff called Angela would call me that afternoon. No call came, non on Friday either. I tried calling three times myself on Friday, the same answer machine. Tried today Saturday to find them shut. Sorry if this is what they are like just trying to get a viewing. No chance they are going to be responsive to any other issues.

Absolutley awful DO NOT RENT WITH THIS COMPANY! They made our first experience of renting hell, they don't care about tenants at all. So unprofessional and rude especially on the phone, made you feel scared to report repairs as we were told we may have to pay for call outs. Rented a furnished flat for 6 months and the whole time the couch was broken and barely useable despite being told countless times it was being replaced. We asked if we could ring the electrician when we had no hot water and were told 'what you can do is you can just wait.' Also had to sleep in a bedroom with a broken open window throughout the whole winter. We were constantly lied to about things being fixed or told they'd ring us back and never did. Appauling service stay away!!!
