Fairly disappointed with the service. A tactic seems to be to over value the property initially to secure a seller this happened to us and a couple of friends. Communication is extremely poor. Emails & calls went ignored a number of times and in the end I gave up and just started liaising with our sellers solicitors Fine & County. They called me once a week with updates and chased various bits ups for us and without them I don’t think the sale would’ve progressed. That would be the sort of service I would expect. Overall I would say Sharman Quinney are an expensive agent given the service provided.
UPDATE: I have emailed twice now the address the Sharman customer service representative has requested in their reply but had absolutely no response. Simply underlines my point of the dreadful communication.

Initially I had a great experience for 4 weeks where there was appropriate and regular communication with over a dozen viewings. Following a change in management the service, communication and viewings depleted with just one viewing over the following 3 months. I was left wondering what the estate agent was actually doing especially due to the non existent communication. I had to go to the branch on a weekly basis to understand progress and strategy. Needless to say, I requested early termination of the contract which was for 6 months, something that was not pointed out on signing the contract. I should have made the point of reading all the T&Cs but it was all done in a rush. Many estate agents require zero day notice so be aware of this 6 month clause at SQ. I did complain to customer services who are in fact Connells (!) and the reply was quite astonishing in its curt nature. I have now moved to another estate agent and the experience is a breath of fresh air and everything you would expect. In summary, what I learnt from my experience with SQ is that they are not up front with the T&C clauses, there is no communication, they are reactive rather than proactive and they lack any strategy in selling your property. They seem to rely purely on the Rightmove posting and not by following up leads, exploring open house events, revamping marketing material etc.

My partner and I purchased our first home with Sharman Quinney and we couldn't have asked for a better service. The whole process was so much quicker and easier than we expected, and we felt the team really cared about us.
Baylee Bishop showed us the house, and was incredibly friendly and helpful right from the start and all the way through. She helped us get answers to all our questions promptly and was very efficient. She also seemed super excited for us, which really made the process enjoyable (not what you often hear from scary house buying stories!). Baylee frequently kept in touch with updates, even just checking in sometimes, which made us feel really reassured and that we had someone available at all times.
We also used Jonathan Threadgold as our mortgage consultant. From our first meeting, he was informative, friendly and helpful. We asked many many questions, and he never made us feel like they were stupid ones (when some most likely were!). I had had other meetings with other mortgage advisors and after our meeting with Jonathan, there was no question we wanted to go through him.
They referred us to Juno property lawyers, and to keep things simple and easy we used them - again, we couldn't have been happier with the service we received.
Everyone in the Cambourne office was lovely, even if we weren't working directly with them.
We would 100% recommend Sharmon Quinney Cambourne for buying a property, and if/when we come to sell in the future they will be our first point of call!

I have now moved into my new home and adding to my review below. If it had not been from the support we had from Sharman Quinneys Manager (Nick) I believe our sale and purchase would have fallen through. If I could have swapped agents for both sale and purchase at that late stage I would have done and Nick and I were exploring all options due to poor support from my sales estate agent. I finally exchanged and completed in two days after 6 months. I cannot recommend or thank Nick enough. We are very happy in our new home.
Sharman Quinney - quick to respond, professional on the calls and during the viewings, always returned calls when expected and provided us with professional advice and guidance. Nick made us feel welcomed and I would highly recommended them for your next move.

Of course with all house moves, some issues will take place. However, I can honestly say, Sherman Quinney, especially Charlotte from the Cambourne branch took it in her stride and really went above and beyond. I am absolutely grateful and glad I went with them. Through my crazy and definitely anxious fazes, our sellers calling up constantly, ongoing problems with the buyer, they done a great job.

We purchased a property through Sharman Quinney and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Lewis did a great job of finding me a good deal on a mortgage and was really responsive and provided lots of helpful information. George showed us around the property and I appreciated that there was no hard sell - friendly, professional and very responsive to phone calls and emails. As the process progressed George and Nick did a fantastic job of helping to push the sale through when my solicitors were holding things up. On both exchange and completion it was Sharman Quinney who let me know, hours before my solicitor told me! All the team are great to deal with and I would happily use them again.

I Can't recommend Sharmann Quinney Cambourne highly enough. Both Nick and George supported us through the process of selling and buying our new home from start to finish. As always, there were some stressful moments in our chain to move,but Nick was always on hand to advise on the best course of action or just to find out what was happening from the other parties. EDIT: I am compelled to edit my initial review which is shown below and was written after the initial process of getting a sale. I stupidly thought that things would be plain sailing from that point but sadly this has not and is still not the case. We were assured that a well organised and simple chain was in place below us and were pressurised to use their in house conveyancing company (actually Pirie Palmann, Peterborough), we chose not to due to them being terrible when we moved in. We found another company and put pressure on them to move quickly to get the sale through quickly, and they did that. We were met by assurances from the sharman Quinney office that everything else in the chain was in place, and I paid additional funds to my conveyancing company to speed up every process at every stage. When we are ready to go we find out that the rest of the chain below is nowhere near ready to go because their conveyancing cannot work at any speed and are uncontactable. We were told a completion day was ok 6 weeks ahead and we felt we needed to book a removal company, 5 days before completion nothing is ready, we lose £1500 to the removal company, and still no one can explain why basic aspects of the conveyancing process have not been communicated well. The office team may just be a conduit for miss information from an incompetent conveyancing team but sadly they all share the same company name so it is hard to tell where the problem lies. I have requested to talk to the regional manager twice and he has never given me the courtesy of ringing me back and explain the issues. As I currently write our chain stands the risk of collapsing around us. Nick and George in the cambourne office are contactable and try their best but the rest of the company is a problem and I can not recommend any sale or process involving their conveyancing team.

Sharman Quinney have been attentive and professional in the selling of our house, they were able to manage to sale in to a really good well organised chain which fell in to place quickly to enable us to buy our dream house in a different area. Those showing people around the house were able to give local context as they know Cambourne so well and they also listened to our specific information about the locality, neighbours, schools etc. The office staff were always quick to pick up the phone or respond to an email, so even if we had a query they could settle our minds quickly. The valuation was fair and accurate, and we sold for £15k more than another local estate agent said would be the top of their valuation. I would recommend the team in their current state under the leadership of Nick. Thank you.

I have recently spent some rather fractious months selling my house where things did not always run smoothly, through no fault of the estate agent. Through it all George McDermott was ever helpful and abundantly cheerful. Always greeted with a smile; from what I could see of his face. Not going to lie, there are a lot of time wasters out there and every time I was let down Luke and his team were right there to help. Luke was so caring even staying later than his normal work day to get viewings in, calling to check I was okay when a sale fell through. I am so pleased that Luke is back in Cambourne as the Senior Branch Manager. This is the fifth time I have sold a house with Sharman Quinney as well as buying one or two (not all at the same time they have been my homes!).
Emily and George came to see the house so that they had a good understanding of our needs and the benefits of the house. They had arranged a viewing before we had even had time for Luke to value it!
After a quick flurry of viewings the house has been sold in 5 days which means we can move forward with the house we really wanted. All the team are now working for a smooth and speedy transaction.

We have been searching for a property in the area around Papworth for the last six months. During this time we have had dealings with many estate agents. I'm afraid my experience with Sharman Quinney (SQ) was not a good one. Their service does not warrant the high price tag. SQ would take several days to answer my emails or ignore them. On speaking to SQ (when I was lucky to get hold of my agent), it only prompted them to chase things up. They were never up to date with things. I completely agree with the other comments that once they get you, the attitude of their staff change, and they become indifferent.
The sellers were using SQ's appointed Solicitors and luckily, we decided to use the alternative once. The solicitors were taking shocking weeks to respond to each other and then sitting on things for weeks before progressing them. SQ solicitor’s reports contained numerous errors including errors in our names. They even managed to make new errors while correcting those which we pointed out.

We had a confirmed appointment to see a house and we called to let them know that we were waiting at the door. The agent told us that it was imposible because the house we were visiting was already rented. All the way there for nothing and she didn’t even apologised. They also have very expensive fees!

I have used Sharman Quinney Cambourne twice to purchase and once to sell. During all experiences the staff have been friendly, approachable and helpful. If they say they will do something, they do it, and quite often go the extra mile! The fees are more than your cheap online estate agency, but I would rather pay a little bit extra and get the job done well!

When asking why no buyers, they said 'no one really wants flats, it's a niche market'. That's not what they said at first! Deeply regret employing them.

Once you have signed you realize the mistake you made. Very poor service. Not replying to emails asking for feedback after visits were made, and giving whatever excuses like the email must have gone in the spam folder etc... This could happen, but not every time. They promised one report per week showing how many clicks our house was generating on their web sites but just sent one over 6 months. Arriving late at visit appointments. During the visits, they are very lazy explaining essential points to the visitors. And on top of that, overall over priced compared to other local agencies. could not be worse.

After having had a poor experience with a local, smaller agent, we switched to Sharman Quinney Cambourne and were pleased by the way they genuinely pursued selling our home. The process felt proactive, their communications were good. We did use their in house mortgage advisor and their conveyancers for convenience (it was easier for us to pop into their branch to get signatures witnessed and they were more than happy to send correspondance off to our solicitor).
One big difference between smaller agencies and the larger chains is that the large ones often have details on file for potentially interested investors looking for properties to rent out and they can use this to bridge gaps in a chain short notice. This can end up being very valuable to hold a chain together.
