We decided to use Sharman Quinney to sell our apartment in November 2024, however our experience was very disappointing, and not reflective of the positive reviews we had previously seen. It took them 15 days to get our advert up on Rightmove once photographs had been taken. Despite being promised our advert would be uploaded before Christmas, it was not uploaded until after Boxing Day. It included several mistakes (things we were not made aware of before it went live). We chased this numerous times, and although some issues were fixed, various issues with the advert still remained. After a month of no viewings and an advert that was never fully corrected, we cancelled our contract with them altogether (at no cost).
We then decided to go with a private estate agent who uploaded our advert within 48 hours of photographs. The advert was exactly how we wanted it, and an offer was made on our first viewing, the day after it was put on Rightmove! We are now in our new house and so happy we made the decision to leave SQ. Everything happens for a reason I guess.

Absolutely nothing negative to feedback! We liaised with lots of estate agents during our search for our home but our experience with Sharman Quinney was by far the best. We dealt with Sam, who was fab and had A LOT of patience with my endless phone calls and questions/requests, even beyond the completion date. Sam was very professional, accommodating and personable! I had never heard of Sharman Quinney Estate Agents before but I would not hesitate to use them again! Thank you!

I had a fall on 15th March and broke my arm and shoulder in Shelford. The staff came out to help and Dilan took control of the situation, calmed me down and even got me a drink and a sling and took me to the hospital. She managed to make an awful situation bearable. I can't thank her enough . Definitely my angel on that day. Thankyou

We chose Sharman Quinney to sell our house because we had a good experience with them in the past. However, it seemed like it was a completely different estate agency when we used them this time. During the house showings for our house they were not mentioning the basic information to the potential buyers that any competent estate agent should. They basically never gave us any feedback for any of the unsuccessful viewings unless we badgered them. Eventually, we sold our house only when my husband showed the house himself!
They were also very unresponsive and we had a new agent dealing with our case every other month which meant that we never got any updates or information about what was going on. Even when I called them to ask for an update, they kept assuring me that they will give me regular updates from then on but they never did. The Shelford branch seems to have descended into complete chaos. Please avoid using if you can.
I am sorry but they were a complete waste of money.
We have moved into our new house and sold our old house now and funnily enough I got a call from them today to ask if we had found a new house. They were involved in the whole process so they should have known this already! I do not know what is going on at this branch but I'd not recommend them.

Please avoid using Sharman Quinney under any circumstances. If I could have given no stars I would have, there is nothing good that can be said about this agency. It's honestly the worst agency I have ever come across and I've been in the industry myself for 14 years now.
They cannot even carry out basic due diligence when advertising a property so be prepared to be misinformed. One property was advertised as both freehold and leasehold, when we phoned to check we were told it was freehold, but it turned out through our solicitor it did have a lease too. They also didn't know the seller was only selling with a limited title not a full one, something that again only came to light through our solicitor six months later, a complete waste of everyone's time that could have been avoided if Sharman Quinney could be bothered to get to know the sellers and the houses they are selling better.
The property we eventually ended up buying was advertised as having allocated off road parking. When we phoned to check this we were told this was definitely correct. Common sense told us this didn't seem right as none of the properties there had parking and the space was no where near the house! It turned out this was not the case at all and there was no parking with the house. It no longer fitted our needs however as this all happen several weeks down the line, and we were due to be made homeless in a matter of weeks, we simple had no choice but to proceed. Sharman Quinney's response to this was 'we take the word of our sellers' so it seems they will believe anything you tell them as a seller, despite the fact common sense should have made any competent agent question the parking situation in this case. Sharman quinney are the only agency I know to get away with not carrying out basic due diligence.
You will never be able to get hold of anyone at the branch, we had to phone another branch on many occasions to get them to contact the Shelford office for us, they don't reply to any phone calls or emails. They have a turn over of staff every few weeks, you are not told when someone is leaving nor introduced to someone new starting. The person starting will also have no clue what's going on with the sale so be prepared to constantly have to repeat yourself. They do not bother giving you any updates or chase a sale for you, complete laziness. They will be sitting on their personal mobile phones everytime you drive past.
When we raised a complaint about their shortfallings and appalling service, we didn't get a single apology. How this agency is still running honestly baffles me, at the very least the Shelford branch should not be allowed to continue practicing.

Disappointing service when viewing properties, they seemed determined to not show me places ! In order to do a 2nd viewing they were insisting i see their broker despite the fact I already had a decision in principle organised... then 3 months later when property had no offers they called me !
While always polite and friendly I feel it is important to know about the houses you are selling, and knowledge was often lacking... more training required there.
It was often me chasing for a viewing when I saw a property come up for sale online despite asking to be on a mailing list for something suitable.. I was only contacted once the property had no interest or a price reduction...
When i had questions for a vendor they were simply copied and pasted into an email to them and their replies to me.. a bit of phone discussion is necessary sometimes!
Branch manager was attempting to use some very outdated sales techniques, .. honestly people can see through this .. you're better just being real. I actually stopped viewing properties listed with SQ as the service was so bad..
A sister agency called me last week wanting to show me a property.. not sure I agreed to sharing my data with other agents!
Have now purchased through another agent and the difference in service was very clear!

Jenn Cohen is a huge asset to Sharman Quinney. Whenever I called in or phoned, asking if there was anything was suitable, without fail, Jenn
would think hard and suggest a property either already on, or about to come on. She would also call me with anything she thought suitable. I am so impressed with the way she listened to my requirements and totally got what I was after. She knew detail about the properties and was pro-active in finding out anything I needed to know. I SO wanted her to find me a house, as I really liked the way she worked. I did fall for a house through another agent. I just wanted to tell you all how good she is at her job! Because of this Jenn was my go-to. The others in the Shelford branch were also really professional.

We had an absolute nightmare moving with our chain, from cyber attacks with our solicitors, from deeds not being correct and mortgages running out of time. But despite all this we managed to move and the best person we dealt with through the whole process was Jen Cohen at Sharman Quinney. Although she was only dealing with our onward purchase, every time we spoke she was fully up to date with every detail of our chain. The communication, advise and assistance was second to none. I think the whole industry needs a shake up conveyancing wise and if there were more Jen’s around the whole process would be a lot smoother. 10/10

I never normally take the time to write reviews, but the service we received from Jen at SQ Shelford was so exceptional I felt I had to.
From the moment we first had the viewing with SQ (Adam) and I fell in love with the house they were marketing, Jen was there on the phone from start to finish.
If you called the office she always answered, or if she was on a viewing you always got a call back. She was prompt to answer emails and it was was always such a personable service.
Never did we feel like just another buyer.
She got the highs and the lows (sorry Jen) of our frustrations with the chain, but always remained calm and professional, while always making us feel like she really cared and understood our concerns and you would always come off the phone feeling better. She was more like a therapist sometimes.
I would not hesitate to recommend SQ to anyone looking for an estate agent who goes above and beyond your expectations.
Jen you are a star, thank you so much for everything you did for us. I’d give you 10 stars if I could.

Adam (at Sharman Quinney) was thankfully very persistent on the phone with my buyer's solicitor (who was very difficult) and managed to get my sale completed in time before the 'Stamp Duty holiday' ended. Saving me a large sum of money to put towards sprucing up our new house. I am very appreciative of all the hard work the sales team put into ensuring my property sale completed, so that we could purchase our new home, however, I do not feel that this rush would have been required if the error below had not been made.
It took exactly 1 year to sell my maisonette (signing all documents to completion). The initial valuation of my property by the sales team was incorrect, despite the fact I advised on its value at the time due to it being a leasehold property. For this reason my property did not sell until I requested to drop the price to my initial valuation.

Very poor experience when we initially listed our property. We had to use photos we took on my iPhone because the professional photos were so poor, we had to re-write the description, which was dull and full of errors, the video included footage of a park we've never heard of...as a result we had no viewings in the first two weeks after launch. When we did our own mystery shopper to try and understand the lack of interest, we caught the agent lying through his teeth. At this point all trust was lost, however, their standard 24 week sole agency contact meant we were tied in...and he made it difficult to go dual agent. Arrogant, rude and totally unprofessional.

The team of Nick, Jen and Lee (there might be more!) at Sharman Quinney's Great Shelford office have been absolutely outstanding during the sale of our house. Their guidance, advice and communications have all been first class and I'd thoroughly recommend them to anyone who's looking to sell in their catchment area. They are a professional bunch and friendly and accommodating too. The sale hasn't yet quite completed (fingers crossed) but it's mostly out of their hands now, so it's time for me to write this glowing review! - if I have to give one negative comment; they need to use a thicker wooden post for their "for sale" sign, as the one they erected keeps blowing over in the wind.

As a buyer, I felt like wasting my time with Sharman Quinney agents. They posted a sell advert of a house worth £N and on a viewing, their agent made up another buyer offering £(N + 10) and £(N + 15) in the past so the seller isn't expecting lower than that: the agent even wasn't certain about the numbers! Why wouldn't you guys advertise the higher price in the first place to stop wasting everyone's time? I understand it's one of dodgy agency tactics but this is a borderline of being ethical.

Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Handled both our sale and purchase well. Competitive commission rate for sale of house. We had many issues throughout the process with others in our chain, but these were always dealt with to the best of their ability by the staff in the Great Shelford office, who were always friendly but professional. Our whole purchase nearly fell through a few days before completion but Mr Sharman stepped in to help the solicitors sort the issues out and everything went relatively smoothly on the day.

Great shelford branch have been absolutely fantastic from the word go! Achieved asking price in what is probably a buyers market more than a sellers currently. Always very friendly and welcoming in what for me personally is a sensitive situation currently (that went a long way)
They worked very hard and communication was always very efficient .. I will definitely use them again in the future and couldn't recommend them highly enough! Very helpful indeed (shout out to Pauline ????) very happy.

The whole team here really worked hard to get our transaction over the line. Frances was constantly working beyond normal working hours to make sure everything was moving along and when problems arose she made sure the problem was resolved asap.
