Updated review - foolishly I left my house without my doorkeys on two occasions (between May '24 and March '25), thankfully both times Natalie (owner and director of Shenley Estates) helped me by giving me the spare key to the house .Today I received this email from her "I wonder if having rescued you for a second time by giving you access when you have locked yourself out, and not charging you either time, which we would be entitled to do, that you may reconsider your google review by either removing it, or making it a more honest review. As part of the proposed renters reform bill I understand that there may well be an option to review tenants……….food for thought!" Also “the timely manner” referred to is 4-5 months with not everything fixed. Having lived in a freezing two bed house ( one bedroom unliveable for 3 odd months), covered in mould for months, living on a matress on my living room floor, being treated rudely and also having MUSHROOM GROWTH INSIDE THE PROPERTY - an inner wall too. Which WAS NOT TREATED PROPERLY, so will almost certainly cause an issue mviong forward and also reieving no compensation or rent discount cfor the £1700 I am paying pcm - even though two rooms (including ensuite bathroom) and the actual bathroom had mushrooms growing from it and they were cut out to amd not treated so will almost certainly cause an issue mviong forward. After explaining that unfortuantely I am disabled, and this was affecting my disability very poorly - the company did nthign. Waiting 5 months for ALL issues to be "fixed". Although they have not fixed the broken drains outside nor the guttering issues which Kenwood the company they contacted for help advsied them to. They also installed a PIV system in the house, so there are 3 rooms (bedroom, living room, dining room) now which let in huge drafts. I've decided, I'll stick with my original review. Esepcialliy as apart from complaining like any usual person would, I have paid rent, council tax etc. all fully and on time. The house is in amazing condition. Please see origninal review below :) Abysmal service. Rented a property with numerous issues, including mould growth throughout, a leak which has caused mushrooms to grow inside the property. Rude and uncaring director, really living up to the estate agent stereotype. Aviod. (Worth noting, I have got many more photos and worse videos. As well as messages from the workers they had come to the property who were disgusted with the state of the place and all explained there was nothing I could do to avoid this)... Read more

Poor estate agents with no consideration for disability or housing standards. I wouldn't wish living in a property of theirs on anyone - but sadly had to see my brother suffer for months. They allowed build up of mould and a continuous leak despite repeated reports of the issue. The issue in the bathroom got so bad mushrooms grew. Repeated blaming of tenant despite obvious historical issues and delays in fixing. They are aware of how much this has taken a toll on my brother and seem to no want to make amends of recognise more needed to be done. There has been no acknowledgement of the impact living somewhere that does not meet the minimum housing standards can have on someone. Despite rent and bills being paid on time during a period where boiler was broken causing hot water issues, mould was building up, mushrooms were growing in the bathroom etc there has also been no offer of a rent refund. You'd expect an estate agent to want a landlord to provide a property of a good standard but this place is an example of why the renters reform bill is so important. The Private Rented Sector Landlord Ombudsman Service and the Decent Homes Standard are needed to stop people living in these poor conditions - and to hold companies who allow them to continue to do so account.... A person I was dating lived here, it was awful. Mould everywhere, all up the walls. One toilet was useable but I couldn’t use the bath due to a leak, and the house smelt of damp. This house and his living conditions became such an issue for months on end- to the point where he became too conscious to have me over and his overall well-being was negatively impacted due to the stress and poor living conditions... This estate agent! House was full of mold and leaks so much so my nephew had to sleep on the floor the smell was awful ! Over 5 months they papered over these and other issues nothing truly rectified ! Instead they listed it for sale This was an extremely stressful situation for us as a family as my nephew has bipolar and the conditions he was living in were triggering as there were great gaps in contact with my nephew as he was in such a helpless/depressive state - often us needing to go and check on him This estate agents actions /lack of action is aberrant.... The property was cleaned professionally using their recommended cleaner and they are still maintaining that the cleaning was substandard and still refusing to return my deposit.
