I Was Ignored, Blamed, and Endangered.
I had a terrible experience with these agents, and I had to take the case to the Council and the Property Redress Scheme. The Council was so slow in responding that they could not interject but the Redress Scheme favoured my case and made Shortland pay me compensation for their faults. They ignored electric hazards in the property and serious maintenance issues the caused further damage to the property for 6 months. Moreover, there was a delay in the moving in date of over two weeks from the promised date which was particularly harmful as I was moving from abroad. The property was not delivered as promised and none of the ongoing repairs and refurbishments were ever finished. I suspect that there were discrimination attitudes because when I insisted on serious repairs, they stopped communicating with me and preferred to call my co-tenant for which they never explained the reason. Some neglected repairs and maintenance affected the neighbours causing me conflicts with them to which Shortland answered saying these were "normal neighbours’ interactions". It is possible that the value of the property was affected by the neglected condition as its price was lowered from the original price when it was sold. Shortland blamed their own employees and contractors, the landlord and me, thus trying to deflect any responsibility. They never offered an apology and even blamed me again during the case assessment with the Redress Scheme who dismissed their accusations. They were unable to fulfil their responsibilities on time during the tenancy, the Redress Scheme assessment and the payment of the compensation. In summary, the most unprofessional and unethical service I have ever experienced.

Professional and extremely helpful. Communication was excellent. Agents who took viewings were very friendly, professional and always had time to answer any questions, whether from the viewer or ourselves as the vendors.

Unfortunately Shortland Horne had my property on their books for 19 weeks and only managed to secure 2 viewings in that time frame
One of those viewings was a buyer that could only offer £30k below the asking price due to mortgage restrictions
I was advised to reduce the price by £10k but this still didn't yeld viewings or offers despite the property being completely renovated with no chain
I was impressed with the pitch when choosing an estate agent and chose Shortland Horne over others but the reality of the selling process has not met expectations

Not impressed with Shortland. Only had 1 viewing in 3 months and the same agent then told us later we need to price the house lower, even though we trusted his initial thoughts on what the house would sell for. Overall, not impressed.

The property is not sold, wasted time waiting to hear from buyers broker, they then tried for a mortgage elsewhere and were declined, another buyer was a waste of time and did not come up with relevant documentation. I feel they let it go on to long and so we lost out to other interested buyers .market has now changed and is more difficult . With another estate agent now

My review is primarily for the Walsgrave branch of Shortland Horne, headed up by Sue Costello. They are excellent…found us a buyer and handled every stage and potential hurdle - I could not recommend them highly enough
