I want to take a moment to leave my thanks to Sam Broadbank following a sucessful exchange of contracts on the sale of my late mum's house last week. Sam impressed us from the outset on the valuation appointment, being particularly sensitive at what was a very difficult time. He gave us an honest, fair assessment of the current market, with a valuation in line with that of the other four agents we met with. He also offered some good advice about the presentation of the property, and plenty of reassurance that Strutt and Parker would handle the marketing and sale professionally, and this really stood out in comparison to their competitors.
We received very prompt and useful feedback following each viewing. Following a short period of marketing, we received competing offers which both topped out at the same level. Sam's advice as to which buyer would likely suit our requirements best was absolutely right, and he followed up at every stage once solicitors were instructed, up to the point of us exchanging contracts within 6 weeks.
As someone who has previously worked in the estate agency business, I had high expectations and know I will not have been the easiest client to deal with. However, I have been more than satisfied throughout. Sam's friendly, thoroughly capable and professional has been much appreciated, and has really made an extremely difficult period much easier than I expected it to be.

I cannot stress enough how fantastic Strutt and Parker Oxford, particularly Sam, have been throughout the sale of our property. It's meant to be one of the most stressful events in life and they made it completely the opposite. They couldn't have been more helpful, sorting out activities which would otherwise have meant a two-hour round trip for me (I was Executor for the estate and not particularly local, so fixing boilers and house clearance were difficult!).

For some 15 months or so, my wife and I have liaised with and met with Sam Broadbank of the Oxford office concerning our possible purchase of a property in Buckinghamshire. Amy was exceptionally supportive in helping us secure the right tenant for our property. The property is located within a very close-knit neighbourhood so ensuring the incoming tenant would be welcomed and enrich the existing community was very important to us. Previously the property was owner occupied hence it did not adhere to some of the new regulations and Amy was invaluable in guiding us through these regulations and securing the best contractors to address the problems in a timely manner. In addition the incoming tenant requested some minor improvements to the property and again Amy managed to secured the best contractor in a short time frame (over August no less!) and the works were undertaken to a high standard. Don’t ever hire this firm for rental service. I hired them to rent out a 4000£ a month apartment. Twice the supposedly confirmed clients cancelled at the last moment, but I’ve to pay for the cleaning services for nonexistent clients. After move in, their service was incredibly slow and poor. Once it took them one and half month to deliver a tv remote to the renter. More importantly, they agree to tenant requests without verification. I fired them within three month, despite already paid them for a full year service. Because I know I would be milked out thousands more if this onslaught of extra billing continuous. I deal w the tenant direct now. It’s more efficient. And, no more asking of extra expenses. Because I actually verify reasonableness of requests

I put my house on the market with Strutt and Parker in July 2022 and received a good offer within 2 weeks which I accepted. I had also found the perfect house to buy which coincidentally was also being sold by S&P.
Both properties were being handled by Callum and his former colleague Helen and they were very proactive on both fronts. However, my buyer pulled out on the morning of exchange which unfortunately coincided with Liz Truss’s brief premiership.
Despite the market unease, Callum and Helen kept the momentum going, and by December another offer was underway. I am am happy to report that with Callum’s diplomatic and communication skills thoroughly tested, he pulled off the double deal and I am now happily ensconced in the home I so wanted buy last summer. Thank you Callum !

Many thanks to Greg and the team for the sale of our house in Summertown, Oxford. It can be hard to know who to pick when it comes to selling your house, but Greg and Alasdhair gave us good advice about the market and were careful to be realistic. The asking price was fair and reasonable relative to the market conditions and through a mixture of their skill and good fortune we had a solid offer within a week. Late last year (2016) I went into the Summertown (Oxford) office without a prior appointment and met a partner I immediately liked. He and a senior partner then visited my late mother's house and put forward the proposition - marketing plans and sale price. I did not want to start the sales and marketing efforts until Probate was known. Mid-March 2017 Probate was issued and early in April an excellent brochure was produced and viewings commenced. Eleven viewings in that week and four seriously interested parties. An offer made at the asking price. Thursday before Easter decision was made and completion was 1st June. I could not have wanted a more efficient and excellent process. Well done Daniel Parrott and team.
