They’ve both been brilliant to deal with — approachable, professional, and always on top of things. Avoid Swansea West Lettings, Grossly Incompetent – My Experience Dealing with Ian and Drew as my property agents was honestly a nightmare. Things started going wrong when the tenant stopped paying rent, and I later found out they’d been covering her late payments for over a year without telling me or charging her late fees. That should have been a huge red flag and grounds to serve notice, but they didn’t do anything, and it just got worse. They allowed the tenant to completely trash my property, ignoring clear no-smoking and no-pets rules, and even caused issues with my neighbours. To make matters worse, they’d worked with this tenant before, so she should never have been placed in my property. What really shocked me was how they seemed to side with the tenant every time I asked questions. Ian even got irritated when I raised concerns, despite the tenant paying late or not paying at all. When I requested an inspection, it took them over six months to arrange it—even though landlords have the legal right to request one with 48 hours’ notice. When I tried to start legal proceedings to evict the tenant, they completely dropped the ball. They hadn’t stored or served the right paperwork, and they hadn’t complied with the Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016. For example, I chased Ian multiple times to install a carbon monoxide alarm, but it never happened. Because of their failures, I ended up in an eight-month court battle with three hearings, all because they didn’t have the right documentation or do basic compliance checks. This caused me huge stress and seriously affected my mental health. Walking into the property after eviction was heartbreaking. The whole experience was so bad that I ended up selling the property. If you’re thinking of renting out your property, avoid Swansea West Lettings at all costs, go with a reputable agency instead.... Read more

Absolutely terrible communication throughout our time renting with them, never answer emails or call you back. When it came to leaving the property it was even worse, no explanation from them as to how and when to leave so they ended up charging us more due to there own miscommunication. Then they overcharge for everything at the end of tenancy and make up charges. I wouldn't recommend and would advise you find another company to rent from. They blamed all their mistakes on "the new girl" and they only care about the landlords and the money.... Read more

Swansea West looked after our property for a number of years. They started well, were very reasonably priced and always found tenants. But sadly the last 5 years were terrible. They allowed the tenant/s to do some very bad DIY jobs, didn't fix things as they happened which led to the problems worsening. They gave us unprofessional market advice and then when it was time for us to leave their services they became uncommunicative.
