My husband and I had a fantastic experience with The Chant Group while purchasing our first home. From start to finish, Chris and Bertie were exceptional—professional, friendly and genuinely supportive throughout the entire journey.
We first discovered the property at the end of August and made an enquiry, mentioning that I wouldn’t be able to view it until mid-September. Since this was a London property and things tend to move quickly, I assumed it might be gone before I even arrived. To my surprise, I received a thoughtful and friendly call from Bertie, who remembered exactly what I’d said and reached out as soon as a suitable viewing slot opened up. Thanks to his proactive approach, we didn’t miss the chance to view the home that ultimately became ours.
Both Chris and Bertie were also extremely patient, especially as we asked to view the house several times before making our final decision. They never made us feel rushed and always accommodated our requests with genuine friendliness and professionalism.
Once our offer was accepted on 26th September, Chris guided us through the next steps with clarity, calmness and consistent support. We officially began the conveyancing process on 7th October, and despite some delays caused by the other side’s solicitor, Chris stayed proactive—chasing when needed and keeping us fully updated. Incredibly, we completed on 24th November, making the entire process impressively quick for a London purchase.
They also recommended a reliable mortgage broker who was incredibly professional, patient and knowledgeable, helping us navigate the financial side with confidence as first-time buyers.
Overall, Chris and Bertie made what could have been a stressful experience feel organised, efficient and surprisingly quick. My husband and I are sincerely grateful for their hard work, patience, and dedication, and we would happily recommend The Chant Group to anyone looking for thoughtful, proactive and dependable estate agents.

They kept me informed at every stage, answered all my questions and helped make the whole process far less scary than everyone tells you it will be.
I really appreciated their expertise and the care they showed throughout. This kind of attentive service made a big difference. A small suggestion – for future buyers it might feel extra special to receive a little “welcome pack” when keys are handed over with useful information about the property, area, utilities, meter readings and so on. But this in no way detracts from the 5-star experience I had – I’m extremely grateful and happily settled in my new home.

I doubt how they got such good reviews, my experience was totally opposite.
Firstly the agent tried to drag the contract for 24 months despite their listing mentioning minimum tenancy as 12 months.
Didn’t mentioned it till all the payments were done, that I need to come all the way from harlow to london for key handover.
Property was handed over without a committed pro clean.
Had a commitment for curtains installation from their side which is still not done after almost a month of my move in.
Had to chase with them daily regarding my curtains issue but still not resolved.

Poor Property Management Experience
I’ve been extremely disappointed with the level of service from this property management company. I have reported multiple maintenance issues over the last four months, and despite repeated follow-ups, none of them have been properly addressed.
A kitchen tap has been leaking the entire time with no permanent fix.
The freezer is broken and consistently builds up excessive ice, no matter how many times I defrost and clean it. This makes it impossible to use properly, as the door doesn’t stay closed. Although someone was sent to assess the issue, no repair has been arranged. When I followed up directly with the appliance engineer, I was told that a repair quote had been sent to the property managers, but it’s still awaiting their approval — and has been for months.
A light bulb connected to the mains (which is clearly the landlord’s responsibility) was refused — they told me it was mine to replace.
Worst of all, I was left without hot water and heating twice over the weekend. Their explanation? They don’t work on weekends or bank holidays, and they have no emergency contractor available — so if something breaks down on a Friday, you’re left without basic utilities for days.
This level of neglect is completely unacceptable. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for responsive or reliable property management.

Six Months of Rodent Infestation – No Real Resolution
We’ve endured six months of rodent infestation in a property managed by The Chant Group, and the experience has been appalling.
Despite countless emails, pest control reports, and even rodents getting into our bedroom and personal belongings, the issue was never taken seriously. Instead of acting on clear professional advice for structural proofing, we were sent a handyman who carried out poor patch-up work — which pest control later confirmed was inadequate.
The problem has repeatedly been downplayed, communication has been inconsistent, and there's been no meaningful accountability or urgency. We’ve had to throw away contaminated items, constantly disinfect our home, and live with stress and disruption for half a year.
For a premium rent, this level of mismanagement is unacceptable. I would strongly advise others to think twice before renting a property managed by The Chant Group.

I had one issue which I thought I would write up on review when The Chant Group arranged viewings for future tenants. Multiple times they would call me and say they were coming over in an hour without a warning. Quite unprofessional and would not recommend. Other reviews appear to be fake.

I would like to clarify a few points. Firstly, your office informed me that the individual who originally managed my tenancy is no longer with the company. This is where I felt the “distancing” came from, as it seemed like my concerns were being brushed aside following their departure.
Additionally, the acceptance letter I received clearly outlined a 12-month agreement, which is why I discussed the contract with the agent. I was informed that the contract could be adjusted in our conversation , only to later be told by your company that the acceptance letter is an internal document with “no real legal status against the contract.” This gives the impression that I was misled into signing a different agreement than I was initially led to believe.
Regarding the parking situation, I was told that parking would be available, and was even instructed to visit the property to collect a key fob. However, upon arrival, I found that no such arrangement existed. When I raised this with your agent, I was emailed that the issue arose because this is a new development and that there was confusion about the planning and the flat i got didn’t come with parking . This was especially frustrating, as I had brought up the importance of parking multiple times beforehand due to no parking spaces in that area

I was assured by Oliver Wilson that a 12-month tenancy was available option , but I was instead signed into a 24-month lease, which I believe violates the Housing Act 1988. Furthermore, the incorrect information provided regarding parking availability, a key factor in my decision, breaches the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008. As Oliver’s assurances are attributable to your agency, any misrepresentation falls under your responsibility. In your email, you acknowledged the possibility that I may have been misled by your employe but said because the message was communicated via WhatsApp that it wasn’t valid although you seen the message but yet it was valid enough for the agent to ask for money for the deposit for your company , yet you attempted to distance your company from Oliver, despite him acting on your behalf.

My experience with Chant Group has been nothing short of a nightmare. Before we moved into my flat , we were promised by Oliver Wilson that the tenancy term could be adjusted if necessary. We signed the contract under this assurance, only to have Chant Group completely disregard their commitment. Despite having clear evidence of this agreement and Pamela Traba’s confirmation that changes would be made, the company has been unresponsive and blatantly unhelpful. Their lack of integrity and poor customer service make them a landlord to avoid. Save yourself the trouble and stay away from Chant Group.

Don’t trust!
I saw a flat on Rightmove with beautiful pictures and a very good price (I should know better), but things happened and I sent an enquiry. Had a call immediately and booked a viewing for the next day. To start in the email the time was 6:30, but at 6:08 agent called me that I was late and he needed to be somewhere else in 35 min. That’s ok, can happen, I was almost there anyway. But the star of the show is a flat the agent showed me. To say it was a completely different flat is to say nothing. The agent said the pictures are renders for people to buy a flat from the developer. So why the hell is it on the rent section? False advertisement and loss of time.
To be fair the agent was very nice to me, so I believe the staff is good.

As an expat coming blind into the London rental market, Nina took so much extra time to help me understand and navigate the process that I had no desire to work with anyone else. Always responsive, she stuck with me through a couple months of questions (some of them probably pretty dumb) several showings, and a decent amount of trepidation on my part. I have never experienced such a messy operation. They were impolite from the beginning till the end. They gave me wrong information about the property many times. They said the flat is on the 14th floor but at the end when I went viewing it was on 5th floor. Furthermore they didn’t refund the deposit smoothly though I haven’t signed anything. It took ages to be refunded. You should not trust this agent. I will never use.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. We placed a deposit on a flat, however our subsequent calls were ignored for a week by Max (the agent we were dealing with). We finally got hold of him, only to find out that the property had been given to someone else. We were kept completely in the dark and found the overall experience extremely unprofessional. There was no communication whatsoever, and I encourage anybody thinking of using this agent to look elsewhere.

I was instantly impressed from my first conversation with Anthony, who demonstrated an immediate deep knowledge of my area (old Street) including pricing and demand.
