Unfortunately, we found our experience with Thorntons to be pretty disappointing. Our initial contact was fine, but we suspect the house was valued too highly, & after 11 weeks and 2 price drops, we still had not one single viewer. Our contact in the office was away on holiday, & when I rang to speak to the person appointed to deal with the house in the interim, she seemed clueless as to who I was or anything about the house. We took the decision to remove the house from Thorntons and advertise it at auction. We did this, & accepted an offer within a few days of doing so. We understand that the market in St Andrews is very flat just now, but feel that Thorntons did very little to try and help us achieve a sale.... Read more
