Not the best experience overall. There are other estate agents who offer a far better level of customer service. Unfortunately, the focus felt very much on commission rather than the client. We were effectively lumbered with them as they were the agents handling a property we were purchasing.
Need to ensure they know more about the product they’re trying to sell.

The team have supported me through out the sale, and i am not the easiest client in the world. I set very high standards which i work to myself. Their help and support at times as been above and beyond, especially when i needed them. Braid as been there to catch me when i feel like i am losing it and get me back up and running. Great member of the team and superb customer service. Keep up the good work great to see this type of service is still out there. I am pleased i chose them to take this sale on for me in front of other quotes i received from the market competition.

I couldn’t be happier with how William H Brown helped me purchase my newest portfolio property. From the first viewing, my agent Braid, was very knowledgeable about the property and area, answering all my questions honestly and thoroughly. They listened carefully to what I was looking for and never wasted any time.
What really stood out was their professionalism during negotiations — they worked tirelessly to get me a fair price and kept me updated every step of the way (even better than my own solicitor). The paperwork was handled smoothly, and they guided me through each stage of the process. There were a few hurdles and bumps in the journey (no fault of the agents) and they helped navigate this to a solution quickly and professionally.

Yes we paid a bit more in fees than the internet agents, but the phone was usually answered, if not a response was always quick to come.

Everyone involved at William H Brown in Dewsbury (James Cromack, Braid Parsons, Liam Evers (Sequence Mortgage Advisor) and others, apologies if anyone is missed, have been absolutely fantastic from start to finish.
I was a first time buyer and seller on the occasions and had full support from the team the entire time. I could email or call if any questions and was kept up to date throughout. I couldn’t recommend the team at William H Brown enough and am very thankful for them allowing the process to be as stress free as possible.

Where do I even start... So not only did we sell a property (eventually) we also brought a property with this branch... I'll start first with our experience as a vendor.
Our property was put on the market and we advised Willian H Brown that we would like them to do the viewings, however, this was never the case. We proceeded to carry out all viewings ourselves. We were made an offer which we accepted and were informed by the branch manager that the buyers were trusted customers, no proof of deposit or mortgage in principle was ever given... Due to the lack of checks by William H Brown, the initial buys were declined a mortgage. The property went back on the market.
We eventually sold the property, however the managers conduct and customer service was very questionable. She began to harass our solicitor and use expletives in emails to him because the sale was taking a bit of time, may I add, through no fault of our own. It's fair to say our solicitor was mortified and was unable to reply.
Now as a buyer... This was by far thee worst experience ever! My offer on a property was successful, I began searching for the best mortgage options for myself and my partner. Granted this took a bit of time, but rather than call in a professional manner, the initial call was very matter of fact... When I informed William H Brown that we had applied for mortgage, they outright asked if I had been declined a mortgage which was extremely unprofessional. When I advised i had not been declined, he asked for my mortgage advisors details to confirm what I was saying was infact true.
Following this telephone exchange. The branch manager (again) proceeded to contact me, shouting down the phone, informing me that she was going to put the property back on the market. I informed her that I had just had a death in the family, to which she replied she could wait until the day after. My mortgage advisor called her on my behalf to reassure her we were awaiting me to fill it a form but due to unforseen circumstances I had been otherwise engaged. She then proceeded to ask my mortgage advisor if I had a bad credit history! How extremely unprofessional and quite simply non of her business as my mortgage advisor advised her!! During this time, not only did I have to come to terms with losing a beloved member of my family, but the added stress William H Brown was putting on myself which was made even worse by her trying to pry in to my life.
My mortgage advisor spoke to the branch manager everyday following this to keep her updated and I assumed that everything was OK and going smoothly. How wrong was I?? Quite innocently I went online to show family of the property I was purchasing, only to realise it was back on the market! This was done without mine or my mortgage advisors knowledge. Thankfully I had the vendors personal number and called her myself, I think it's fair to say she was as surprised as myself and assured me this was done without her permission and she had no intention of selling to anyone but myself. The vendor asked me to contact her directly with queries and I also advised her of the same as our trust in William H Brown was non existent.
I decided not to question William H Brown and proceed with my mortgage. The branch manager then got in touch with my mortgage advisor and asked him who our lender was, again, extremely unprofessional and again, none of her business. My mortgage advisor then asked her why the property was on the market and she informed him that this was the decision of the vendor but they were not taking viewings, unbeknown to her that we were in touch with the vendor.
I am absolutely disgusted with the service we received and can whole heartedly say I have never ever come across worse customer service in my life. They quite often raised their voice and spoke ill of me and called me a problem case. Good luck to anyone selling or buying a property from this sorry excuse of an establishment, you're going to need it

Avoid like the plague. Absolute cow boys. Had extremely poor service both times I have tried arranging a viewing.
Arranged a viewing and turned up at the specified time yet was turned away by two rude, unprofessional staff members as apparently they had been there 15 minutes prior to the arranged time. They refused to let me view the property despite me taking time off work and travelling over 45 minutes. I was told they had ‘another viewing’ yet they were already at their office within 20 minutes. Clearly no viewing and just bone idle, lazy with stinking attitude. The manager is also rude. Worst estate agents to deal with. I would give 0 if I could. Absolute shambles.

I cannot recommend this company enough. From day 1, they outshone all of the other estate agents I had my property valued with. Their service has been fantastic, I couldn’t have asked for more. The whole team, they knew who I was when I phoned, knew what my needs were and the support we needed with our sale. Their advice was so helpful and their reassurance throughout selling made the whole process so much easier and far less stressful.
James and Jo were amazing and I wouldn’t think twice to recommend them to others and also use William Brown again should I require estate agents in the future.
They won’t be the cheapest but they also aren’t the most expensive and please remember you get what you pay for. You will need a team like this to get you through your sale/purchase.

Good luck trying to arrange a viewing for a property you may like. Be ready for an interrogation and anything to avoid an appointment being made. The person I spoke to was very judgmental, rude and then tells me I’m being difficult to speak to when all I was trying to request was a viewing but instead got interrogated. Turns out I was dealing with a manager all along!

Had dealings with William H Brown twice and the service each time has not been very good. The first time was when i purchased my first house. Staff did not take my offer for a property seriously and allowed the property to be marketed with another estate agent. I then inquired with the new estate agent regarding the property which i evetually ended up buying through William H Brown but the seller having to pay double selling fees which out of principle, i paid half the fees for the seller. The second most recent dealing I've had with William H Brown was this week when i was called up randomly by staff asking if i wanted a free valuation of my property again as i hadn't sold it since the last valuation. I advised i have no plans to sell as i will be extending the property, to which i was advised they could value the property based on my architectural drawing and give me an indication of the value of the property once the extention work is completed to help decide how much i can/should spend. I agreed to meet a valuation officer in a few days but then was contacted by the valuation officer who advised this isnt a service they offer!

He is absolutely fantastic and we can't recommend his services enough! Everything was made so simple and easy for us. Liam was always available on the phone or email to answer any questions. Bunch of con merchants! They only take an offer on a house only if you get a mortgage through their own in house mortgage broker! Then the cheek of charging you £700 for a service of a mortgage broker so you can buy a house through them. Please I request any sellers to stay clear of these lot! At first, very helpful but on a second call to the same agent I was met with an attitude when I was discussing an objection I had. Her words were "well you will have to get a second opinion then won't you" in a very condescending manner. The reason for the attitude was when I mentioned that 2 other agents had valued the property at £30k more which is not a small amount of money. So I quite rightly and fairly questioned the valuation given as mistakes do happen. I won't be using them ever in the future. I attempted a few years ago to rent a property out with the same agency under their managed service, in 6 months they only got one tenant and they lost him due to errors made in the application process. I took the flat off their books and successfully rented it within 2 weeks. I had 3 tenants over a 6 year period before passing it onto another person to manage for me.

If you are looking to buy a new home this is the NO 1 place to go before entertaining any other estate agents. The wife and I have been very picky when it comes to ensuring the next place we bought was our forever home. We chose W H Browns Dewsbury, due to their local market knowledge, and we made the right choice. The valuation from Warren was exactly what we had thought ( great minds think alikeh ). The branch manager Jo, suggested having an open viewing, brilliant idea.
The house went on the market at midday Friday 1st of February, the open viewing was the next day Saturday at 09.00am to 10.00am, the house was sold by midday, 2 HOURS! ????????.
