As a student who is in need of a flat, I would have expected a more responsive and cooperative estate agent rather than someone who lacks the ability to respond to a text or email when trying to negotiate an offer. Don't believe any of the other reviews. My daughter has been dealing with a guy called George who has been nothing short of absolutely useless. His communication skills are abysmal and he has left her waiting for answers and feedback for too long, wasting her time whilst she could of spent it looking elsewhere . I have been dealing with York Estates for over 25 years both lettings and sales. There service is bespoke and professional at all levels. I would suggest if you are new to Marylebone and want to get to know more about the neighbourhood that you will do yourself a great service meeting with Julia or George, whom (I often joke) are an encyclopedia of knowledge. They have been on the corner of Crawford Street and Seymour Place forever, a welcoming sight to walk along that block and see the office lit up and the office buzzing with activity, a source of great comfort. Anyone meeting them for the first time will quickly benefit from their wealth of information. Today I had two viewings with possibly the rudest agent I have ever met in London. George was extremely dismissive during conversation and blatantly ignored me and walked about 5 metres ahead of me at all times ignoring my existence. When I thanked him for his time after showing me the final property he didn’t even turn around and proceeded to wave his hand in the air without even turning to face me.
For such a reputable company this service was a disgrace and would only discourage me in letting a property from this company, a huge disservice to his landlord/clients.

I had to find a flat and ensure that I could move in on very short notice (plus I had just come to the UK from the US), and George was very well informed and able to tell me exactly which documents I needed to provide while giving me comfort that the team could process everything by my move-in date. His responses were prompt as well during document processing. Chrissie gave me the tour around the flat itself and I loved meeting her as well! We have dealt with York Estates, for years and years. Firstly on the sales side when the flat was purchased. (David on the sales side is excellent, professional and engaging. Never pushy but always, without fail, extremely helpful and we never ever had to chase for anything. David has always been swift to respond to any query and was always honest. A trait we value wholeheartedly). On the letting side, we have dealt with George and Toni for years and years. Very professional, and answers any queries almost instantly. As a letting agent we have used George’s services both for full management as well as tenant finding services latterly. George is always there to help and advise. We’ve remained loyal for 20 years or so, due to the excellent service and have never felt the need to go elsewhere. Cannot recommend highly enough. Top job.

Being from outside of the UK there was a lot of information that they did not know and could not help us with in regards to the property.
I would have expected York Estate to have known all of this information in advance but instead they have directed us to the owner who is yet to reply to us.
The property had has a basic clean before we arrived but when we started looking around we found that that was rubbish and clothing from the last tenant through out the house still.

They have done an excellent job: the tenants have been well vetted and chosen; rents have been negotiated and agreed to my satisfaction; most tenants have renewed annually for a few years but if they have left after one year it was for their own work reasons (relocation); and whenever I have needed advice or help, for example in redecorating, YE has offered reliable contractors at reasonable rates. A further additional benefit has been the long-term service throughout that period of George and Toni, who know the rental market extremely well - continuity is important. I would also mention David, who has given good estimates on the sales potential of the property when I needed it. A highly recommended professional practice.
