As a business it is very important to work with people who align with your core values and deliver a high quality service. The team at Naomi J Ryan are professional, friendly and very good at keeping on top of things. We normally work with them in managing our rental portfolio but have recently sold a couple of properties with them and the experience has been equally impressive. Highly recommended.

I’m asking people to be take care of any details while dealing with this agency!<br><br>They don’t support you with maintenance and once you finish the contract make sure to call them because they don’t give any support or leads to take an advantage on the tenant and let him extend some days with fees!<br><br>I finished my fixed contract with them and 2 days before I depart from Exeter I called to see what shall I do and they told me no you have to extend one more month! I told them no one emailed me and helped me regarding this and they were like you must pay!<br><br>We gave back the apartment clean and tidy and left the keys inside the same day they were having viewing for another tenant and we left the keys inside with them and they left it and emailed us 7 days later that we must pay 310£ one week rent because we didn’t give the keys to the office!<br><br>Also the cleaning fee even though the apartment is super clean they charged us big amounts im sure 80% of it is considered profit as well as their poor performance in maintenance and helping tenants to live in a comfortable place.<br><br>If you are forced to deal with them just focus on your rights and the contract especially.

She was the agent who helped us purchase our house, and she was excellent at keeping us informed every step of the way.<br><br>During viewings, she struck exactly the right balance - approachable and friendly, but never pushy. She let us look around at our own pace without constantly talking or trying to plant ideas in our heads, which we really appreciated and found refreshing compared to other agents we'd dealt with.<br><br>The thoughtful touch of a gift box on completion, including a little toy for our son, was such a lovely surprise and showed how much she genuinely cared about making the experience personal.<br><br>Professional, attentive, and a pleasure to deal with throughout — highly recommended!
11th Jun 2026 (24 days ago)Wished to get some advice regarding land and principle property titles and was put in contact with Lucy Glanvill. Got generic advice and asked me to put it in writing, which I did. 1st email gets lost, follow up email I get the same generic response we discussed and my last email has gone unanswered. 3 months later I was none the wiser. I phoned Strutt & Parker's rural team and got a knowledgeable answer over the phone in 15mins. I've used Savills in Kent to sell a rural business and was impressed, but my first experience of the Exeter office is lacking and know where to go when the time comes!<br><br>Since posting this review I received a kind phone call apologising for this. I revised my rating from 2 to 4 stars as trying to put things right is rare these days than it used to be.

Allways there, always communicating, having a vast knowledge of the area, building a deep trusting relationship from the start. I can't thank her enough. 22nd May 2026 (6 weeks ago)Absolutely zero accessibility. Trying to move back to the area due to ill health and to be closer to my family again. We had 2 properties that we wanted to view and asked if these could kindly be virtual viewings, the middle aged woman on the phone was frankly snappy and rude and incredibly condescending when she said no, and how we would have to book a weekend away to view these, I explained this wasn't possible due to a multitude of reasons, she did not care. While house hunting now and in the past we have not had an issue with any other estate agents accommodating virtual viewings. It's 2026, do better.

They have now acted as selling agents, this took a bit longer than anticipated but Southgate agents have kept us informed and been helpful during the whole process.

13th May 2022 (4 years ago)I first met Brett a couple of years ago when looking into the student market. I didn't do anything at that time. It was a pleasure to meet Brett again in July 2021 when viewing another property, and subsequently other properties. Brett is generous with his time, doesn't rush you, and tells you the facts as he sees them. I feel he gives his views and advice in a very straightforward manner which is what you want as a buyer or a seller. I would have no hesitation in recommending Brett for his professionalism, friendliness and someone to go to for advice. I have now met the Lettings side of Star and found them extremely helpful as well.
22nd Mar 2023 (3 years ago)I had a very, very disappointing experience with Star Lettings back in the summer of 2021 – I'd been served with a section 21”no fault eviction” due to an issue with mold in the bathroom floor (which it transpired was caused by a “long term leak under the bath”) I still owe money to southwest water because of this. I'd reported the issue with the moldy bathroom floor to Star Lettings some two years previously. This notice to vacate was on hold throughout lock down due to Government legislation but didn't do much for my peace of mind. In my experience it seemed that the landlord always came first and I lost half my deposit even when I'd cleaned the house as requested though it was difficult given the underlying mold issue that should have been addressed when I raised two years previously. I was also told that the flat would be completely renovated as the landlord planned to turn the place into an AirB&B (which I believe has happened) so I left the place completely empty with a clean up as best as I could (thinking I wouldn't overly invest too much time in it, given the renovation would be going ahead anyway) After moving I contacted Star Lettings about my deposit but Star Lettings tried to withhold my entire deposit, in the end I managed to get back half of this, but not without a struggle. I needed the money as it certainly wasn't easy finding a new flat immediately post lock down

They stood out for being friendly and efficient (not pushy and annoying!) getting viewings booked in and following up. Since then I've chosen them to sell my house and recommended them to my daughter as well and they lived up to their reputation. I've recently purchased again through them! Big shout out to Darron and Anthony. They know what they are doing and they do it well.
