   Verity Frearson are the largest estate agent in Harrogate, and in my opinion are handling too many properties simultaneously. As a result they aren't able to give each property the desired attention and exposure. They are also so busy they are very rarely available to take your call and often don't get back to you....    I chose Stephensons because they are a long and well established Estate Agency with a good reputation. Although the sale was long and complicated due to circumstances over which nobody had control, the final result was achieved and everything went ahead smootly. The whole process was very professional from start to finish, Sue and Nathan were always available to clarify questions and I am glad that I stood by my decisión to have them handle everything.    Having rented a property managed by Nicholls Tyreman, I can confidently say that our experience with this company has been absolutely appalling.<br>Throughout our tenancy, we experienced repeated maintenance problems, including issues with shutters and blinds, hot water, a fly infestation and the upkeep of the grounds. Getting matters addressed was often a frustrating process involving repeated chasing.<br>Despite these issues, when it came to renewing our tenancy, we were faced with demands for a substantial rent increase and ultimately a Section 21 notice when we could not agree terms.<br>However, the worst part of our experience came when we vacated the property.<br>Having paid a significant deposit, Nicholls Tyreman sought to deduct an astonishing sum for redecoration, woodwork and for flooring.<br>It is remarkable how maintenance issues can be so difficult to resolve during a tenancy, yet when a tenant leaves, thousands of pounds of alleged remedial work suddenly becomes necessary.<br>The entire experience has left us with the impression that the interests of tenants come a very distant second.<br>I would strongly encourage anyone considering renting through Nicholls Tyreman to document absolutely everything, retain every email, photograph the property's condition and be extremely cautious when it comes to their deposit.<br>We have rented properties before and have never experienced anything quite like this.<br>In my opinion, the professionalism, fairness and standard of customer service have been completely unacceptable.<br>I would never use Nicholls Tyreman again and would strongly advise prospective tenants to consider other agents.<br>One star is one too many....
