8th Aug 2025 (1 year ago)Arthur and Carmichael are a very well run firm that prides itself in providing sound legal advice and good customer service to its clients. I can personally vouch for that as I had to engage this firm on behalf of my elderly mother to deal with a complex crofting issue which had occurred. The advice received from Daniel was both comprehensive and very well explained, he certainly knew his stuff regarding the complexities of crofting law, he came across as being very personable and approachable. Laura who assisted with the sale of the property was also first class. They were both excellent at their jobs and I would have no hesitation in recommending this firm to others.
27th Jul 2026 (13 weeks ago)I travelled from Poulton-le-Fylde to Stornoway to view a property they were representing. Upon arrival the ground floor of the property was undergoing substantial renovations, fundamentally changing the nature of the business. The purchase price was also not the listed price. When I was contacted for feedback by them I was told the owner just wanted to get some feedback and was thinking of taking it off the market. Thank you for making me drive over eight hours, take a ferry for 2 hours and 40 minutes, stay in a two hotels all at a considerable expense just to satisfy a whimsical owner. Very unprofessional. Not even a considered apology. Property has been subsequently unlisted after my feedback - too late for me unfortunately.
18th Jul 2021 (5 years ago)We had a very good experience with highland residential. Very good with the communication with our buyers. We were very happy with the service they provided. The two people that handled our sale were excellent, unfortunately they did leave just before our sale was due to complete and so did our buyers, so in the end not entirely happy.

Angus Ferguson explained the process, drew up the will and guided me through the steps with clarity. The front office was welcoming and cheerful.<br>My thanks to all.
