I can't recommend Alan Lee Independent Estate Agents highly enough! We used them to both sell our old house and buy our new one, and the entire experience was outstanding from start to finish.
For the sale, out of the three agencies we consulted, Alan Lee gave us the highest realistic valuation and we ended up achieving the maximum price we hoped for (and more!). Their team was professional, transparent, proactive, and kept us updated every step of the way, making what can be a stressful process feel smooth and straightforward.

Alan, Lee, Abbey and Cherrie have been nothing short of exceptional throughout our house sale.
Having secured us full asking price within just over a week, we assumed it would be a very swift process but, unfortunately, it soon transpired that we had a less than stable chain, with the bottom of the chain causing a lot of problems.
It was a very stressful 7 months for us, but the team at Alan Lee couldn’t have done more to get us to completion.
The whole chain owes Alan Lee their gratitude, as they were literally the only agents in the chain who were proactive. Lee and Abbey had a hard time dealing with the other agents, where communication was not forthcoming up the chain, but their tenaciousness, professionalism and desire to act in our very best interest got us to completion.
I have no hesitation in saying that if we had chosen a different agent, we’d either still be waiting on the sale, or the chain would have collapsed!
If you’re looking at selling your house then we would 100% recommend that you appoint Alan Lee as your estate agent. You and your house sale will feel valued, their communication is great and they keep their head when all around are losing theirs!

It has been a long ( 12 months) stressful and quite turbulent time since meeting Alan and our house going on the market, with our first sale falling through, 5 months in, and latterly us having to break the chain to prevent this happening again.
We have wondered if we would reach this point, for anyone in the same situation, our advice would be to stick with it, and listen to the team.

She gave us background information regarding the property and area, helped us to visualise what we were thinking about doing to the property and gave us the time to look around and didn’t make us feel rushed, even on our second visit we were allowed to take our time and ask questions.

After a really promising start to my fiancés sale of his house our experience just went down hill. We completed all the inventory paperwork detailing what we would be taking from the house - a mixture of none integrated white goods and light fittings - to be contacted by Alan Lee, 2 weeks before completion, to say that the buyer was threatening to pull out of the sale due to items not being included. We were told of the buyers highly emotional response (not in such clinical terms) to finding out about the inventory, placing a burden on us as the sellers, and when we questioned Alan Lee as to why this was only just coming to light so far into the sale my fiancé was told that the usual practice was for homes to be “sold as seen”. This was brand new news to us as, had we been advised of this practice, we would’ve emptied the property and swapped out the fittings that we were taking rather than completing the inventory in good faith. It left us at significant financial loss which we raised with Alan Lee via email, we received no reply to this email, despite asking to know the buyers response to our willingness to leave certain items.
To say the overall service that we received as the sellers was poor would be an understatement, it did not appear that we had an agent acting in our interest.
Of note, we saw the buyer after the sale had gone through and she had bought the property as buy to let, she advised me that she had told Alan Lee at her point of offer that she wanted the fixtures and fittings and the inventory had not been disclosed to her.
I have given two stars as the pre sale work including photographs, and the monetary exchange were managed quickly and efficiently.

We moved to Alan Lee from larger Macclesfield based estate agent after being disappointed with the service we were getting. From the moment we had our first phone call with Alan, we felt like we had made the right decision. Both Alan and Lee are thoroughly knowledgeable of the market and the area, always had time to go above and beyond with any of our questions, and steered the sale of our property perfectly. This was all despite us needing to meet the tight stamp duty holiday deadline.
I can't recommend this independent estate agent enough.

They were easy to get hold of and responded very quickly to any queries from either me or the vendor. They provided good solid advice and support . Absolutely fantastic, wouldn't hesitate to recommend them or use them again! Both Alan and Lee are friendly and very knowledgeable. We had a complicated situation which they both went out of their way to accommodate, and were extremely professional and responsive in all our interactions with them. I have been paying close attention to Alan Lee over the past year as I am hoping to buy a house at some point in the future and they always pop up on social media and I see their signs all over Macclesfield and the surrounding areas. I have seen quite a few houses on these amazing video tours that they produce themselves which really do show off the properties they are selling very well. They also seem to have a stock of wonderful looking properties that clearly have been taken care of. I know instinctively that when I eventually have enough money saved for my deposit I will be looking to buy through this small independant agents. I look forward to dealing with them as they are highly professional.

From valuation to completion, Alan and Lee were absolutely brilliant and we always felt well looked after. We sold and bought with them and their communication was fantastic at all stages. Viewings were always arranged with plenty of notice and feedback was always given where received. They always responded to emails and phone-calls quickly. Most importantly, they were absolutely on it when we encountered some issues with our buyer’s solicitors - calling and emailing to help things move along all the way through. We have already recommended them to our friends who are thinking of moving next year and will continue to recommend to anyone who asks.

We bought our house recently from Alan Lee. I've bought and sold a number of houses in the past, so I have some experience of estate agents, and I have to say that both Alan and Lee were far above the norm. Things were still in lockdown, which should've made things more difficult to transact, but they were always available when needed and certainly help things go through smoothly. I'm not normally one to write online reviews, but I thought that they did such a good job they deserve it. There was no 'playing of games' in negotiations and they came across as really decent, straight-forward guys. I'd highly recommend them. Especially if you want a company who really cares about your deal and doesn't treat as just 'one of many'. Thanks Alan/Lee from Kirsty and James.

Alan and Lee are the 2 nicest men I've had the pleasure of dealing with in the property industry. They are the perfect balance of professional and friendly. They have made selling our house as stress free as possible and we are truly grateful for them. We've never had to chase them as they sent us weekly email updates. They work tirelessly and clearly have a huge amount of knowledge about their line of work.
