The whole team were really flexible and accommodating, especially as we were viewing from out of the area. Communication was great throughout both via email and phone, and everything felt smooth and stress-free.

**Review for Allen and Harris Estate Agents ROATH BRANCH:**
NO STARS GIVEN—unfortunately, that option isn’t available!
My experience with Allen and Harris Roath has been nothing short of a nightmare. They lost a sale on my property just three days after it was “sold”. After the third viewing, I was alarmed by Ring doorbell footage showing the buyer's hands covering the camera and the salesman Yupy suggesting a property £60,000 more that was renovated, despite having already knocked my price down by £10,000. Even stated the address of the other property. I immediately lodged a complaint, but Mel, who claimed to be a manager, was actually just admin and left me waiting for ID checks and that everything was fine. On a bank holiday Monday, I received a call from James, the valuer, informing me that the buyers had pulled out—without a courtesy call from the salesman, Yupy.
I KNEW THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN.
Additionally, my husband and I had troubling exchange with James via a WhatsApp group he created, where he insisted I couldn’t view MY own property and made rude, borderline racist comments regarding a potential buyer’s surname and how much they would offer. They seemed more focused on their fees than facilitating viewings, even trying to push their mortgage advisor on me when I had my own.
Vicki Crean’s management skills are VERY questionable; she broke GDPR by sharing another customer’s name and address with me, claiming we were relatives. It’s outrageous that she disclosed this information without consent. Her request for my CCTV footage regarding unprofessional conduct outside my house was baffling.
A different salesman made misleading claims about my kitchen, and they left lights on in my home while I was at work, wasting electricity. I had to chase feedback repeatedly, and around 8-9 bookings were made and then canceled, yet they still used those names in their records.
I've sent a formal complaint to Connells and terminated my contract with Allen and Harris Roath due to their numerous breaches of professionalism. Thankfully, I’m now working with a relative in the industry who knows how to do the job right. I would never recommend Allen and Harris, particularly the Roath branch, to anyone. This experience has wasted months of my family's time.
The only reason I chose them initially was that I purchased my house through them. I’ve noticed several other houses in “The Hawthorns” have switched to different estate agents—wonder why?
Please, no customer service responses; my complaints have already been lodged with Connells, and I’ve taken legal advice.
Fortunately for this review due to character limits, I can’t go fully into depth!

awful estate Agent, the person showing my property was like “Del boy” (yupi) with no professionalism, the other person dealing with me there was a Leonardo de Caprio lookie likely pretty boy called James, they could talk the talk, but I had no feedback after viewing and had to chase constantly!They left lights on in my property and did not relay the points that mattered. Only really interested in “hot buyers” those that use their service for mortgages and solicitors, so they cherry pick who sees your property, if your prospective buyer has a mortgage in principal and a solicitor they are not interested. I know this as it came to light, that a friend of mine got a viewing after 3 weeks of asking! Despite no one booked into my property to see it, in the meantime it was sold with another estate agent! Whilst waiting. When I went to get my keys back off them, “Delboy” said to me, I recognise your face but can’t place you! He spoke to me previously for over 30 mins!,he then gave me keys back after enlightening him that he was selling my property. I then received another viewing date 2 weeks after telling them it was stc! There is something awful he done to my relative who is with them but at the moment I cannot say! I now understand why they operate like this. Just watch Panoroma bbc2 , Undercover Estate Agent(which was on last night) as Connolls own Allen & Harris, this explains the atrocious way they manipulate buyers and sellers.my name is different from Post due to data security but I can assure you I was a client and a family relative us STILL a client if yours despite one of your staff being totally unprofessional which will be disclosed at a later date!

We’re so glad we chose Allen & Harris Roath to sell our house. James Lamb, Oliver, and Liam Tresilian were just brilliant – they worked so hard and made the whole process feel easy and supportive. James was especially amazing, getting our house photographed and up on Rightmove within five days, and then managing to get it sold less than a week later!
Even from the very beginning, it was clear that these guys are top of their game. We are lifetime mortgage clients, and Liam has helped us arrange two previous mortgages and we really value and trust his knowledge on rates and providers, and guidance around managing finances and making offers on a new property.
We hadn’t met James before he came to value our house but again he instantly impressed us with the amount of knowledge he had about our property, the surrounding area, other projects and wider developments in the area and his strategy for attracting buyers. We feel James has quite a unique talent, is incredibly personable and makes you feel really reassured and supported throughout.
What we really loved about the team is that they don’t do things the usual way. They’re a bit like the Aldi media team – they’re bold, funny, creative, and bring a fresh, modern touch to selling houses. James even made a TikTok reel to help get more eyes on our place!

Estate agents generally don't have a great reputation, but I can honestly say that the team from Allen and Harris in Roath, Cardiff were an exception. James gave us a realistic evaluation, Mel encouraged lots of viewings, and Connor sold our house for us. All friendly, honest and professional, but Connor went above and beyond to secure our sale.
It wasn't the easiest sale and purchase for any of us, but Connor's communication between all relevant parties was amazing. His knowledge of all aspects of the property market was second to none. As a first time buyer, obtainin a mortgage can be extremely daunting. We first spoke with Liam Tresilian who was absolutely amazing. Not only did he work late most evenings to accommodate our working hours but also provided a five star service. He automatically changed over our mortgage product if the rates went down and talked us through the various life insurance options that were available and arranged the same as soon as we exchanged.

1. Sales manager Robert Medcraft from Allen and Harris who is rude and sarcastic in his tone.
2. They will create fear in you that they are receiving lots of bookings. Once you reserve they state that u will not have access to the builder to negotiate which they had said that I will get to negotiate once
3. They will reduce prices of their properties at their whims and fancies but once you have reserved you are completely stuck as they will ask you to leave even though property prices are dropping and they never gave u a chance to negotiate.

I'd recommend you contact them if you are looking for a place that accepts pets or if you are moving from another country. They do their best to find something suitable for you.

Craig & the staff at Allen and Harris has given us the worst experience we've ever had when moving house. The move has taken over 6 months & still isn't completed. From day one they have lied to us about the purchasers & the price my house is worth. My whole family is suffering stress because of the blatant LIES FROM CRAIG

What a disappointment. Went in to enquire about their properties for myself, a working professional only to be confronted by Allen and Harris's discriminatory policy! I work very hard to budget my wages to afford to live as otherwise I'd be homeless, but in Allen and Harris, this is not enough, for each property they insist on a guarantor if you earn below 30 times the monthly rent per year. So if you're from a working class background where you may not know a homeowner or someone willing to sign to be a guarantor then you are ineligible to even consider a contract with them. Congratulations Allen and Harris for moving with the times and showing your support for the working person in Cardiff

I have been using a number of estate agents over the past few weeks and today I have had the worst experience with an estate agent that I’ve ever had.
The confirmation text message sent to us was for the incorrect property. The agent rang ahead to let us know he would be 5 minutes late. Fifteen minutes later, we were completely soaked from the rain, and still he hadn’t arrived. His office told us he was “around the front of the building”. Ten minutes later, he shows up to show us a “recently redecorated” flat, with fixtures hanging off and nicotine stained walls.

Recently got myself onto the property ladder through the help of Allen and Harris. In particular, I dealt with Stephanie Byrne who was brilliant from start to finish. My parents, who helped me purchase my first place, are based down in Dorset and Steph was very accommodating with the fact they were so far away, and that information needed to be passed onto them too. In fact, my parents commented saying they wished they had such a bubbly and helpful person in their area.
Steph remained patient throughout, provided numerous answers to the questions bombarded her way and enabled us to have a positive experience, which what could have been a stressful time.
All in all, we can describe our overall experience with Allen and Harris, more specifically with Steph, as Professional, friendly, supportive and highly recommendable.

I contacted Allen and Harris for a Mortgage Advisor after being recommended by my sister and got put through to David Huckle.
Since then David has been nothing but helpful, answering any queries I have easily by the end of the day, and chasing up both the lender and seller on my behalf to speed up the process.

My girlfriend and I recently rented a property through this agency and the service we received was excellent from start to finish. Scott, our agent, was superb at sorting everything out and his communications were quick and professional. The whole agency seems to operate in the same professional manner; the contract signing with Neil went smoothly and he made sure that we had all the information that we needed. After renting from cowboys in the past *cough*2let2*cough* it was a relief for us to find a property we loved and with-in a week we were all settled and ready to move in.

In general Allen and Harris were ok. However, they had told me my offer on a house was accepted then a week later that I was in competition with another buyer, which I thought was handled very sneakily. Also during the buying process I was told by one member of staff (who continued to be very unhelpful throughout) that 'our part in this is done now these questions are for your solicitors', questions that he could of answered/helped with. Thankfully, the more senior member of staff was much more helpful, just harder to get hold of.

I am surprised this agency is getting a 3star. The worst individuals on the planet work in this office. Infact I believe they are a racist bunch. time wasters and they keep writing to me (I am sure they don't know who they are writing to) to rent my properties and I tell them its all professionally handled by a more competent agent. Made an offer on a property and they are asking me if I am aware of the HMO rules, what a cheek. What has HMO got to do with me buying a property. your job is simple to sell and not to ask stupid questions

I've used many estate agents in my time. Allen and Harris in Cardiff/Roath are possibly the worst agent I have ever used. For both sales and lettings. As a landlord, they have lied to me on several occasions, they never follow-up on your requests and are poor communicators. We've had such a bad experience with them on both the sales and lettings side, I implore all prospective customers to choose another agency, it is simply not worth the money going with Allen & Harris.
