Lizzie Watson at Aston Chase was AMAZING!! We started looking for a place around a year ago and Lizzie showed us a few when we enquired about them. Very poor experience in dealing with property management. Found the person highly predatory in charging bogus expenditures to deduct deposit (eg indentation on carpets left due to keeping furniture) in an attempt to try to allocate landlord’s discretionary expenditure to tenants (which as a matter of fact arrived after 50+ days since tenancy ended after multiple requests to return deposit). Have challenged it through ombudsman, but did not expect this predatory behaviour from an agency of such good reputation.

We found our new flat with Aston Chase this year and could not recommend them enough. I made contact with Sam back in January and he talked me through the properties which fit our requirements. After struggling with other agencies as the properties didn’t fit the description and weren’t right for us, Sam sent us the brochure of a flat that had recently acquired on our dream road in Primrose Hill. Without Sam we would’ve never been able to move into this place, and we’re truly the happiest we have ever been. He supported us from start to finish, always had time to answer my questions, and even to help us out when we locked ourselves out on the roof during the first night of our tenancy…. Aston Chase was managing the property during our stay, but they could not resolve the heating issues of the flat - the floor heating in the property was not working. When we raised this, they sent an engineer who fixed it partially but and after 6 months, it stopped working. We also identified a leak in the flat below, and we could not use the floor heating at all. The agency/property manager pushed the responsibility to the landlord, and we were 1 year without heating. They sent electrical heaters which increased our electricity bill dramatically. When we asked the rent to be re-adjusted as we could not use the floor heating and there was an increase in cost, they refused to negotiate with the landlord.
When we finally left the property, the checkout process was very unprofessional. The company they work with to do the checkout inventory were very unprofessional, e.g. they did not compare the check-in and check-out inventories, they did not check the cupboards in the flat. When we raised questions with Aston Chase, they were very slow responding and releasing the deposit and they tried to charge us for items that were in the flat but were not captured by the company that does the check-out inventory.
I would not recommend them for renting. I would also recommend that you stay during the checkout process as they may try to charge for items wrongfully.

Having been a frequent ‘time bandit’ of Simon Rosenblatt’s over the years (always calling for values and advice), I finally instructed him to handle the sale of one of my investment properties. Not only did he provide the most sensible marketing plan and well considered valuation but also was willing to try and achieve a price that I thought was unobtainable in the current market. Having had the property on his books for 3 weeks I had a load of viewings and a choice of offers that were all in excess of my expectations. After several years of house hunting, it took just 1 first phone call with Simon Rosenblatt. I told him what I wanted where I wanted. Simon would disappear, came back to me and took me for my one and only viewing with him. And that was it! Now I just moved in this week.
Even on the day I collected the keys, he acted as my sweet brother spending a full hour at the property to ensure that everything was in places including putting the fobs into all key rings.
