We were selling at a difficult time, with a very stagnant, slow moving market. We ended up selling for a much lower price than we wanted or had expected. However, Auckland estates got us a buyer, and were very good at chasing progress up and down the chain and keeping us informed (thanks to Marcus for this). RENTERS BEWARE
Had multiple issues when we rented a flat through Auckland. Mouse, squirrels and wasp infestations with little initiative shown by Auckland to get a contractor out to fix, in the mean time we had to stay in hotels. A few weeks later they tried to increase our rent by over £100.
We had to end our tenancy early as the root causes of the infestations were not fixed. After leaving they tried to overcharge us for oven cleaning work at approx 3x the market rate, and failed to produce the quote they'd referenced or invoices when requested. They backed out at last minute when we tried to get the issue to mediation, I assume because they had no backup for the charges they had proposed.
Wouldn't rent from them again if it was free.

Some years ago Paul had handled the sales of our property, then my mother's with great efficiency and consideration. So when it became time to sell my late father-in-law's house it was a given that we would return. Living over 200 miles away now we needed extra trustworthiness and were not disappointed. Peter and Marcus in particular kept us well informed of viewings and feedback, helped to arrange people to clear, clean, tidy the garden, read the meters and keep an eye on the property. Follow up: A few days after my agreement my father fell unwell and I had to move out to care for him. This estate agent didn't care at all, I was made to pay 3 months rent for a property I didn't live in. In addition to this, they took TWO weeks to put the property back on the market. No desire to understand the situation and completely money focused. Will never be using their services again and will be taking this further.

I had an excellent experience with Aucklands Estates. I was extremely surprised how quickly the process was from start to finish. Shaun (Lettings Manager) offered viewings on a Saturday and sealed a deal on Monday morning!
Peter was extremely knowledgeable about the property market when I initially contacted them to have my property valued, his friendly and professionalism manner made me look no further when deciding to let. He was super-efficient and directed me to Shaun who made the process stress free.
Shaun was attentive, very professional taking me through all the steps, always an email and call throughout the viewings, referencing, tenancy agreement until the tenancy deposit arrangement.
Highly recommended!!! Loved the DocuSign a swift ending to an electronic deal. There’s no surprise that the yellow boards around Potters Bar are always in eyeshot!

This agency used to be well thought of before they "merged" with BPM, who were known as something else before that, and something else before that (I'm usually weary of name changes).
Usually I'd contact the agent directly, but this particular one has history of littering our town with their advertising boards. There are regulations regarding boards, AE know them, but for Joe Public they are that the board must be removed with 14 days of a deal completion.
The board outside 1 Cranborne Road (that's next to the day centre Cranbourne Place) has been in place for 25 months, in fact it was so discoloured by the sun that they had to change it. Many other similar ones about, including one in the past where they placed two boards on a piece of land sold at auction by a different firm.
They even placed a board in the middle of some greenery just up from the Fire Station, proudly stating 'Let & Managed' but with no property nearby. In place for 3/4 weeks before somebody (not me) removed it but it reappeared very quickly.
Looked like someone else has taken exception to it and added something, perhaps rather apt as it's planted outside Mutton Lane Cemetery!! Click on the pictures and have a look at what is below the main signage)
Perhaps others within the area will take a dim view of an agency that litters our town with unnecessary signs. I always find that voting with your feet works wonders.
As a local business if AE tidy up their act I would be happy to remove this entire review.

Avoid this agent! As a motivated perspective with finances already arranged I expected it to be easy to arrange a viewing of a property I was interested in. But this agent was extremely reluctant to actually arrange a viewing, insisting that I take a look at the email he had sent me and to do a virtual viewing. I has informed the agent that I had had a recent stroke effecting my optic nerve and was having issues with my eyes and I insisted on a physical viewing. To my amazement the agent said he didn’t want to waste his time or mine and hung up on me! I have a mind to visit the property on sale in Little Heath and tell the vendor that his selected agent is actually blocking me from viewing his property. As a Founder of a company that specialises in Customer Experience I would urge perspective clients of this company to insist that they treat buyers with respect. I personally wouldn’t use them to sell my property and would suggest that there are far better agents around. I subsequently saw a property around the corner with Buttler residential. Barry from Buttler gave me a superb experience and I would highly recommend them.

Avoid this estate agent, in particular Shaun Anderson. They put clauses into the AST agreement that are unfair under the unfair agreement regulations. I found this and was harassed by Shaun and not allowed peaceful enjoyment of my property. Agreement has clauses about allowing viewings which should not be in a fair agreement, compare with Lettings Centre and NRLA agreements. Couldn't facilitate viewings due to my elderly and ill mother recovering from surgery.
Auckland haven't responded to my complaint or SAR requests, will be chasing this up. They failed to do a checkout with me at the time they promised, and have eventually returned all of my deposit.
Can't say I'd recommend them on account of Shaun Anderson, it's not the way to treat your tenants, you gave me five weeks of stress and anxiety!

They failed to sell the property during the eight week period. The process is poorly organised, communication was weak and the performance of the sales negotiator was terrible. they did not make any extra effort to sell the property apart from advertising, after four weeks I instructed to reduce the price. They have agreed to do the EPC but did not do it during the eight weeks and breached the legal requirment.

Renting a commercial property experience: Avoid this agency (in particular Shaun) if you are planning to rent a commercial property around potters bar. He has his way of tricking people into worst deals and pushing people to pay the reservation fee (think twice before making a deal with them,).
Shaun is very aggressive and unprofessional and always late answering emails and returning phone calls and texts , the way he treated us was awful.
Shaun believes landlords are his ONLY clients who need to be treated well and they always come first - so good luck if you want to be a tenant using his poor service).

Having had for the last few years my property on as a rental I used Auckland Estates - Hazel who looked after rentals was fantastic, always quick to respond back with any queries that needed answering, a brilliant communicator and she got the job done. I would highly recommend Auckland’s to use if your wanting to rent out a property.

Positives: they got people through the door and we got a reasonable price for our house with their marketing.
Negatives: lack of communication, no next steps information which should be standard practice, switched off - at one stage they didn't even realise I was their client and then said I had spoken to a member of the lettings team.
They will sell your house, but they fall down on comms.

There are regulations regarding Estate Agents advertising boards. The advertisement must be removed within fourteen days after completion of a sale or the grant of tenancy.
Despite this clear regulation Auckland Estates think they can ignore these. Between the Ford garage and where The Bridge pub once stood are no less than five bright yellow boards, only one of them should be there.
Despite polite requests they remain.
