I have been a tenant with baristoves, and my experience has been frustrating. From the start of my tenancy, I was not provided with the correct parking badge for my designated bay, even though parking is included in my rent. Despite raising this issue on 17 September and following up multiple times, it remains unresolved.
As a result, I have received two PCNs and have had to park in visitor spaces, which has caused inconvenience. Not being able to use the parking space I am paying for monthly has affected my peace of mind and caused stress. While I appreciate that the agency submitted an appeal on my behalf, the core issue — providing the correct parking badge — has not yet been addressed.
I sincerely hope that by seeing this review, someone from the team will contact me to resolve this problem promptly

Abysmal service for tennants. Still awaiting deposit to be returned 6+ weeks later. Beware of this estate agent. This estate agent do not care for tennants I was without heating and hot water for months, their excuse is the landlord opted to self maintain the property. They do not help, do not reply to emails. More alarming is I HAVE NOT YET RECEIVED my DEPOSIT funds out of dispute over 1 month later. I paid rent in full on time, left the property early on 25th May, 7th July I am STILL awaiting payment. I called 4 times over a week to get a reply which then received contradictory information on if the payment is made or not. I am owed £1,171 and so far told it is authorised and takes 5 days to clear. It's been 10 business days
Absolutely unacceptable. I paid 3 months in advance + deposit of £2048 + guarantor. Yet they cannot reciprocate returning funds in a timely manner.

We have just completed our house sale through Bairstow eves Billericay.
We initially spoke to Jane Crosland at the Southend branch who was incredibly helpful she gave us brilliant advice. Unfortunately she couldn’t sell our house as we weren’t in the Southend area so she referred us to the Bairstow eves Billericay branch.
Steve Harris came out to value our property. He was incredibly professional and knowledgeable. He gave us realistic and honest advice and no pie in sky nonsense . He valued our property perfectly as it sold in about a week of going on the market. He had good knowledge of the local area, prices etc. we had 3 different estate agents visit and Bairstow Eves literally outshone the other local estate agents.
Tina Fernandez all I can say is wow what an amazing person she is. She went above and beyond. She dealt with everything from booking our viewings, liaising between us and the buyer. She was at the other end of the phone ready to answer any query we had. She helped from our home going on the market to completion. She really is an asset to Bairstow Eves.

I'll admit that there were many times we've contemplated taking our business elsewhere, but then Lauren Saunders came on board and took over our account and changed everything. This comment is directed mainly to support Bairstow Eves’ teams at Clacton-on-Sea, who manage the letting of our property, and at Billericay, who are involved from time to time with maintenance/repair issues.
My wife and I are very small landlords: we have but one property which is let to provide an income to support our pensions. We do not live in Great Britain and Barstow Eves have been managing the leasing of that property on our behalf since April 2014.
The service that we have experienced from the Teams at Bairstow Eves over the last eight years has, without reservation, exceeded our expectations. They have dealt with all aspects in a thoroughly professional and businesslike manner, at the same time maintaining an understanding and sympathetic approach to us as landlords and, when appropriate, to our tenants. Should a problem with the property arise we are advised by the team and invariably they have already worked out a suggested solution before they inform us.
The way in which our property is managed reduces concerns that we may have about being so far away from our asset and this gives us a peace of mind that otherwise we may not enjoy.
To us, this indicates very positively the interest that all management and team members, at every level, show in their commitment to their profession.
I have not singled out individuals for comment as I know that many team members contribute behind the scenes.

One of the more pleasant aspects of their service as the ability to correctly value a property in their locale, particularly one that did not fit into a standard tick box. Other agents missed by a country mile.
We found the assigned agents professional, in an English system that is far from fit for purpose, a relic in many ways of a bygone era. The fact that there is no contractual obligation at point of purchase leaves so much open to scam and over-promise and makes the agents job somewhat more difficult than it need be. The inability to be able to clearly see the whole chain is again something that is hopelessly antiquated and requires modernization especially given the huge sums of money involved these days. Despite the inadequacy of the English system they were diligent in following up our queries, and expediting solutions. We would not hesitate to use them again.

I am not sure how I start why I have given 5 out of 5 stars to those whom helped me on my journey to my new house. One of the major role was financial advisor who is Shannon Dooley. Although she is very young, impression I have is very very positive. She has proven out her experience more than enough and she is very capable. She works very professional and she has brilliant communication skills which was really helpful. I have had two mortgages needs to be simultaneously run in timely manner and requires good negotiations skills. I think she is very professional and trustworthy personal which I would 100% recommend for those who need a financial advisor... On the other hand, all Bairstow Eves people really helpful and they are friendly and have professional approach to all the matters. Having said that, before going to anywhere, just personally visit this great estate agent and meet those lovely people personally...

We have recently moved to Billericay from Kent. Right from the off Louise was helpful, attentive and supportive in all aspects. When we viewed the property she and Chris were on hand to answer questions and nothing was too much trouble.
Moving through the rental process can be time consuming, Louise, Loren and the team had us set and ready to move in in two weeks. It is always stressful, although I really could not recommend Bairstow Eves in Billericay enough.

Moving is stressful! There is no escaping that fact but Baistow Eves supported and helped us throughout the whole process, communication is fantastic, they get stuff done no empty promises! We had Jayme to guide us through post sale, she is amazing! I was particularly impressed by the way the staff work together to make sure we are guided so even when Jayme was off someone stepped in and kept us informed!

This is a review for the property management department of Bairstow and Eves in Billericay. I am a landlord letting a property in Essex with Bairstow Eves Billericay under a full management contract. I am writing this while I have been listening to a telephone message for the last 45 minutes (!) thanking me for holding and informing me that I am currently in a queue and that my call will be answered shortly by a 'portfolio manager'. I have experienced very bad customer service before with Bairstow and Eves but then at least email were answered. Now emails are not answered either. Such poor quality customer service is truly worrying and this is how problem tenant/landlord relationships are created as tenants' phone calls and emails are not answered either or with a long delay. Stay clear and avoid at all cost!

In a time where you have companies like Purple Bricks, it was a breath of fresh air to use Bairstow Eves and their team at Billericay. With a complicated chain, you start to really value having a really top notch estate agent behind you, helping you push your purchase through. Whereas other people in our chain didn't have this luxury due to use Purplebricks, they had to do everything themselves and in truth it lead to a mega long time to exchange and complete! Jayme was unreal, she was on the case every day for me, and the house sold within four days. Any problems we had, she was always at the end of the phone. Would highly recommend from start to finish.

They evidently pick and choose who they wish to like and treat nicely however, I was ready to move in ASAP and happy to put in an offer and Louise couldn't wait to get me off the phone. The lettings property maintenance dept do not answer emails, phone calls or deal with any issues with any urgency whatsoever! I had a leak coming from the bathroom dripping through downstairs into the dining room, it took them 6 weeks to get someone to repair! Now we are left with mushrooms growing out of the wall in the dining room awaiting for them to arrange someone to fix the damage caused by the leak! Since the day we entered the property we complained regarding electrics not working, over 3 months later still waiting for a response let alone a repair to be sorted...

Expressed interest in renting a property after viewing. Gave my details to agent who said she would take the matter forward to the landlord. I assume the property has been let to someone else as let agreed now showing on the web site. Didn't have the curtesy to call us regarding the outcome. Poor customer service.

Emily Avery is always friendly, helpful and efficient. I am sure some of my questions were silly, but she always welcomed me and never made me feel stupid. I live abroad so she took care of everything for me and kept me informed along the way. The place was let within a month. I have absolutely no complaints and I would recommend Emily and her team to anybody looking to let their home.

I have been using Bairstow Eves Billericay as Letting Agent for my house in the Vale continuously since 1996, (19 years now).
Not only have they kept abreast with the market and amended letting agreements in line, but they have always acted professionally when contacted by the tenant for whatever works are required.
The knowledge that they are managing the property and will only contact me if they absolutely need to, is reassuring to say the least.
The last thing an absent landlord needs is to be continuously disturbed by either tenants or agents when, given certain levels of authority, the agent can be trusted to act on their own initiatives.
I'm happy with their service and would recommend them to any Landord looking for peace of mind and assurance that both Tenants will be serviced and any new Legislative requirements will be met.

VERY RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL !
Today I had a call from Sue Edmunds, Lettings Director, from the Billericay office telling me that I should NOT have gone into the Basildon office to discuss a complaint. Unbelievable since they had invited me!
Sue's priority was solely to lecture me on Countrywides' corporate procedures and talking over me, with no concern that the procedures were inadequate and that referencing need to be tightened.
Having already refused the £150 award from TPO and advised we would proceed with Court action and BBC Watchdog as is my right, Sue persisted with her £150 offer. What a pointless conversation! She had no intention of achieving a mutually acceptable settlement.
Another bad experience with Bairstow Eves, no wonder they have the nickname they do !

We have been dealing with Emily Avery since showing an interest in a property Baistows Billericay were letting. Emily is nothing but friendly, welcoming along with professional. I contacted Bairstow Eves in Billericay after deciding to rent my house out and have been so impressed with the professional way they go about their business. From the first contact i had with Chris Beadle who very promptly came to see me and explained all the details of renting out to the friendly face of Emily Avery who within a day had people lined up to view my property. Emily's knowledge and hard work have enabled me to concentrate on packing my property up knowing that Emily is dealing with all the paperwork a godsend i must say!!
All the staff were so helpful and informative would certainly recommend!!

After walking into Bairstow Eves in billericay and talking to Emily Avery, she reassured me they would be able to find me a rented property in my preferred location and within my budget and time scale. She is hardworking, friendly and has made finding a rented property stress free. Emily & her team are very professional, which is very refreshing in our internet based society. Emily does have the old fashioned saying- the customer comes first.
Would highly recommend Bairstow eves and Emily to my friends and family in the future whether it's to find a property or to sell theirs.
