Avoid these "Agents" at all cost. Worst experience with Rob, Gayle and other staff. They failed to notifty all clients of a Selective Licensing Scheme and as with all other complaints about their terrible serice they were rude and brush off their clients. The worst offender being Rob who is responding to most the the reviews here. This is a serious breach of the legal duty and obligations. Rob then took 500 sterling for a license they had no part in. Rob will attempt to state no other Agent would take us on which is nonsense - another Agent was involved in selling our properties. Do not even think of using these so called Agents - all you have to do is look at a long string of negative reviews and a few fake good reviews. In my opinion they are rude, incompetent and fraudulent

Bells estate agent managed our rental property for about 2 and half years. There was never any issue with their service, and they maintained the property too when needed . The prices were reasonable for jobs that needed doing.
When we did have any questions their advice was good and proffessional.
We then sold the property through them, that service was also very good and I believe it was their constant pushing of the solicitors that got the property over the line. More than happy with the service they provided and would recommend them to friends.

I've been a tenant with Bells for around 13 months now and compared to any other letting service the team are outstanding. No jobs to big or small and put the household and service before anything else.
The communication between bells the landlord when needed and myself has been 10/10 and Lynn has been outstanding throughout. Superb team and really well ran.

Incredible estate agents, they're really on the ball with great communication and they were very thorough with sending over property documents, as well tenant information packs from the Gov website. Recently I had an issue in my flat and the property manager Gayle was over in less than 20 minutes to assist as well as getting a plumber out next day, everything was sorted in less than 24 hours.

I have found Bell Estate agents to be professional and knowledgable. I can highly recommend Ray Bell as a mortgage advisor after having a very poor experience with another local advisor from a well
known estate agency. Ray was totally the opposite - warm, responsive and went over and above to see we got the buy to let mortgage we required. I wouldn’t now go anywhere else for my mortgage or rental properties as a result.

I can now relax as I know that our apartments are in safe hands. Rob is amazing! He treats his customers' properties as if they were his own. He gives our apartments his full care and attention and will always find the best contractors at the best prices. Rob goes the extra mile and is always striving to provide the best service. I don’t even know where to begin. We are tenants with this estate agent …. And since day one it has been nothing but trouble. Moved in, the garden was having essential work done, which still isn’t completed and hasn’t been touched since November (but it’s our fault apparently because we missed one potential time the contractor could visit due to a post surgery emergency appointment). So we’ve had no use of the garden since day one but nothing reflected in our rent payments.
We’ve had ongoing damp and mould issues since move in, again our fault because even though it was raised months beforehand, we missed an appointment with a damp survey company in February due to my partner having last minute surgery.
The front door doesn’t lock properly, we had 6 nights with no gas, heating or hot water with two young kids in the house, no alternative accommodation offered, no rent reduction, not even an apology, just an arsey comment of “go shower somewhere else”. And 4 days later we were hand delivered a section 21.
We’ve asked to leave early and move to an alternative property with a different estate agent & landlord, as we were informed the current landlord needs the property back as she’s unexpectedly returning from Spain (we’re technically doing her a favour), we were initially told they don’t see this being a problem, fast forward a week when we have made arrangements to move and guess what, it’s now a problem!! We either stay here until the end of May, and be made homeless. Or take the new property, but continue paying rent here until the end of May too and be unable to afford our kids nursery fee’s, meaning we’d need time off work to look after the children and risk losing our jobs.
I can’t stress enough, avoid this dump of a company. And if you do risk it, make sure you keep record of every conversation you have and email you receive.

So Dissatisfied!! We were tenants on 19 Churchill Road. We always paid our rent on time for the last two years. We always were happy to let the agency to do inspections every four months and always the inspections were perfect with no complaints from the agency or the Landlord. And now we are asking for our deposit back and they are Trying to claim for wear and tear. For stuff that were broken before even we moved in!! The ceiling in the kitchen was leaking water, the plumber came and ripped all the bath off, he never properly fixed it, and now they are trying to claim that from our deposit. The boiler broke down, we had no heating for 48 hours with 2 little kids under the age of 5 and they never properly fixed it! The boiler till on 4th of March was still broke!!! Disgusting agency!!

I have a mixture of fully managed and self managed properties, and prefer carry out my own viewings. They were very accommodating to my specific needs. Listing available properties is easy and has a fast turnaround, usually within a few days of being listed I have a new tenant and signed agreement. All of the prospective tenants were well chosen for my property and requirements.

My water bill is supposed to be in with the rent, yet last year I had to pay my water bill because my landlord refused to, I'm still owed 125 pounds for this as i had to pay water rates twice once to my landlord and 2nd the the water company to stop me being taken to court and today I received a new bill of 80 pounds which no doubt my landlord will refuse to pay again, iv tried so many times to sort this out but the estate agent won't help me even though they set it all up, they just tell me to hand bill in downstairs with another Tennant of the same landlord but nothing ever happens other than me getting a letter for court for not paying the bill that is meant to be sorted out by my landlord. Its very worrying that I get threats to go to court over something that really has nothing to do with me as I have already payed the bill in my rent that I pay, how come I have to sort it all out when it's the estate agents that set it all up, why can't they not just ring my landlord and say look ur causing ur Tennant to be charged twice and get them to deal with it rather than giving me the worry that I might have to go to court to deal with it which would cost me even more money.. Surely they could have dealt with this by now its almost been 3 years of same rubbish and me being out of pocket when I'm struggling to start with.

Really poor service and very unprofessional.
Took day off work to be home for a valuation they didn't show or have the decency to even cancel.
When I called to question it, stated oh yeah you were in the book sorry we didn't cancel and then went on to blame covid.
Unbelievable really I would go with the more established agents locally that know what they are doing.
1 star only because I had to AVOID!!!!

I tried 2 other estate agents before settling with Hunters. One of the other ones was Sarah Mains and they came above Hunters in reviews... I don't know why they scored higher as their pitch (in person) seemed to be based on fear, sighting copious amounts of legal liabilities.
The same legalities were outlined by Rob at Hunters and he was clear about them however he seemed happy in his role (that says a hell of a lot), more relaxed in himself, patient and personable. His pitch was informative and helpful, he stressed the nature of my responsibility as a new landlord - I liked that bit as it showed a mutual responsibility rather than it just being all on Hunters (it showed care for the tennants). It's easy to work with Hunters. I've had no issues so far and we're about 5 months in now. My house was rented very quickly.

No consideration for people’s time!
Booked an appointment a week in advance, no phonecall to confirm. I called them at 9am the day of valuation to be told he (Rob the manager) can’t make it and would come later in the day and he would call me to give me a time. No phonecall so I called them at 12 promised a phonecall back no phonecall again, so I rang them at 1 to be told he would be here at 3pm.
Was called at 2:45 to say oh I’m sorry your out of our area and you need to call Sunderland.
We took a day off work to prepare for this and even paid to keep our son in nursery longer however Rob did not care. No concern for our time at all.
This so called managers attitude was that he couldn’t care less

We really didn’t appreciate the way the Hunter’s team did business. Whilst I appreciate that they were doing what they could to get their client the best price possible, we felt that their businesses practices in doing so were quite shady and at the expense of all the buyers. I imagine that the vendor of the property will have been very happy with Hunter’s, however, as a buyer, I will not be going through this agency again and will advise anybody I know to also avoid it. Not trustworthy.

Spoke to Rob at Hunters who was reccommended by the accountant, I saw him on the Thursday lunchtime, he was out to take photos of the house on saturday morning - and had it up to rent by the afternoon. I went on holiday on the monday and they had a tenant in by Wednesday!! The servicing is excellent -I get no hassle from the tenant - they deal with everything - its well worth the money - the rent goes in my account every month - i couldn't recommend highly enough.

I arranged a viewing for a property in Gateshead with Harrison Berry, I then received a confirmation e-mail and turned up at 6pm the next evening to be shown around. They didn't bother to show up, I waited half a hour and then called the office - which was closed.
They didn't even contact me to apologise for the no show, and when I contacted them and informed them i'd done a 65 mile round trip to visit the property they offered absolutely nothing by means of apology.

Went to get advice on getting a mortgage, they guy we seen was totally disinterested! my partner hasn't got the best of credit ratings so we knew we may not get anywhere fast but just a little advice on how to go about things would have been nice. we got the feeling he had already looked into things and couldn't be bothered to do anything for us. Would never go back to them. I have seen a couple of financial advisors and he was the worst by far. Felt degraded and angry coming out of their office.
