I acted for my mother in-law in progressing the sale of her bungalow as she needed to go into a care home. I chose Brennan & Chatterton to deal with the sale and no sooner had I given them instructions there was an immediate inspection, which was quickly followed by a For Sale Board being placed outside the property and particulars of sale drawn up. By the end of the first week an offer for the property had been made! Especially good at response and follow up, when we got a buyer the team worked really well with the buyers and ourselves to help the awkward process through. The varied skills of the team also helped especially on some of the difficult legal aspects. I would recommend them for your sale, especially in the local area, as they have great knowledge of some of the requirements of the private estates and the area in general. We fancied a move, a fresh start but like many couldn’t find a property we were keen to purchase as our new home. I booked Brennan & Chatterton two times for an appraisal but cancelled as we genuinely couldn’t find anything we considered would make a great new home for us, sound familiar..? We decided an appraisal would be a good thing so at least our property details would have been taken, photographed and ready to be marketed, just in case, that ideal property came to market…
Nathan arrived for the appraisal, didn’t rush, listened to us and after a decent amount of time, indicated that he knew of a property coming to market that would be right up our street… We liked the sound of the property so we agreed to get our property photographed, ready for marketing.
We received the details regarding the property and straight away, it was exactly what we were looking for… Before we viewed the property, Nathan had arranged a few viewings of our home, even before the photographs had been taken and due to knowing exactly what one of his clients was looking for had agreed a sale on our home, subject to contract…
We viewed the property Nathan had suggested and made an offer…
Our sales process was thwart with the usual ups and downs, which dragged on a little but at no point were we not updated, weekly contact with all parties was extremely impressive and a special mention for Kiera Dalton, whose communication and management skills are exemplary…
Our buyer sadly lost their buyer late in the process, just before we were all due to exchange… Nathan, being extremely proactive, called me when this was becoming a real possibility and suggested that we have a couple more viewings, specifically, two well known clients to them… We took his advice, one of the viewings made an offer there and then with a promise of a quick exchange/completion. Three weeks later we were in our new home…
Before contacting Brennan & Chatterton, I spent weeks looking at Rightmove, searching for a property for us but also watching comparable properties, primarily to ascertain which agents were selling homes like ours. It was pretty clear to us that Brennan & Chatterton were the ones turning the boards STC on a more regular basis.

Our experience with brennan & chatterton from viewing a property putting an offer in has been the most stressful estate agent in the Sussex area we have ever had! We put an offer in having proof of the sale of 2 properties, 12 days in to be told another buyer had put an offer in over the weekend strange!!!!! After being told that our offer was okay on the Friday apart from 1 other person!!!! Us having to call them again on Monday to be told they would let us know Monday evening! Than Tuesday e-Mail no phone call saying our offer wasn’t accepted, no courtesy call etc. maybe okay for the individual selling through them but would strongly not recommend to buy from them, they wanted to know where our buyer lived and had they had a mortgage before! Really ???? just wanted other people who are thinking of buying in the are with this estate agent how they conduct & operate when your trying to buy a property of your choice, absolutely ???? per cent not good estate agents. Mr & mrs wynne.
