Emma and Kerry arranged speed selling of my house which was complex booking system but they did it with ease and sold my house in less than 7 days and for the full asking price .

The agency vainly claimed they are top three for South Shields and yet they don't even care to take into consideration that people have work , they just expect people to accommodate their work schedule to the agents'. I tried to arrange the viewing for the second part of the day but was informed they arrange only group viewings and their agent would need to go twice their- as if it's not the agent's job to show property and it might be more than once per day. I've got a job and it's not like I can just go to the other part ofthe town whenevei feel like. The agency expects professionals to lend the property so that they have money to pay , although and yet it doesnsn't care at all about people having a job and just put agency's convience above all, it's apparently shocking their agent to show a place twice per day. I have got viewings with agencies who arranged individualviewings because they respect people, unlike this agency. It's just a selfish group that self proclaim they are professionals.

My partner received a buyer for her propertyBrowns, however she had also seen a property through Browns
As my partner could not view property that at 16:30 pm placed offer so she would not loose this property.
The owner accepted the offer my partner asked Jill to make an appointment for that day at 18.30pm this was at midday, at 16.36pm called Jill again nothing
The next day Kyle emails saying owner changed mind not excepting offer wants more viewing and offers make a decision on Sunday
Next we learn someone viewed property put in cash offer owner excepted it. Kyle is still asking if we wanted to view it
I cannot believe this, my partner crying her eyes out i asked speak Kyle, reply was he in a meeting call you after meeting
No reply called again gone out call you when he gets back still waiting for his call
Then Louise called very cocky and abrupt like she knew it all it not our fault owner has right change mind we do as owner asks, even if sale was going through not have it sold in 10 days before your buyers mortgage expires. Is this women think we are totally stupid i did real estate 9 years
My reply was my partner the owner of the property you sold was never informed by you regarding change in circumstances of the buyer going from the buyer applying for the mortgage to then changing it to the mortgage going through a company after waiting 3 month nothing happening only because my partner called asking what was going on we found out
Jill not only not making appointment loosing my partners sale but constantly asking whats going on the buyer your property only has 10 days before mortgage expires yet my partner emailed her month ago
Partner asked speak Kerry owner, staff reply was she not in she on holiday
Later that afternoon message from Kerry sorry leaving office now on my holidays all she is worried about is her company not my partner what her staff done cover own backs
This company lies, each staff member lies cover own back , end that day had enough lies partner had no confidence with Browns Estate in South Shields told them have board down by end week, she gutted lost sale due to lies and lazy staff members of Browns Estate but she says no way getting paid any money from sale my house rather loose sale give them penny my money.
Stay well away from this company if you want a professional hassle free and quick positive move.

We arranged a property viewing with this agency several days in advance. Just a few hours before the appointment, they changed the time, and when we arrived, no one was there. We were then told we had misunderstood the time, which was simply not true.
What followed was even more disappointing. When we asked to reschedule, we were told the property had already been let, as if the entire process had been orchestrated behind the scenes without bothering to inform us. No courtesy call, no update, no explanation.
The whole experience came across as unprofessional and opportunistic, as if the viewing was never really intended to happen, and we were just kept in the loop until they closed a deal elsewhere.
This is not how you treat prospective tenants. Transparency and respect go a long way in this industry.

Absolutely terrible company stay well away, took me forever to get in touch with them regarding a rental property, I kept ringing but no answer, I eventually drove to the shop with my phone still calling them, when I went inside the old dear was Sitting playing on her phone and shop land line ringing and being ignored, I asked about the property and was told that the landlord still in the property and to call back next week, eventually got through to someone on the phone next morning and was told to register with them online and viewings for the property were taking place on Friday 29th, I was given appointment for 14.15pm, due to working in Scotland I took time off and drove down to south shields for my appointment, just as I was approaching Tyne tunnel in good timing for my appointment when I received a phone call from agent to say an applicant had just taken the property it it was no longer available, absolute disgrace and I do know the usual is for agents to hold viewings then go back to landlord with all applicants details and circumstances and the landlord will decide, this property was great location on the river so definitely scull duggery gone on with this dishonest agent, also must have a guarantor no matter what your circumstances as they don’t take a bond so can be quite embarrassing having to ask friends and family if they can be quarantine for you, knowing what I know now and how I was treated I strongly advise to keep well away from this Agent.

Only down fall was we requested 2 selling boards front and back of property however the back board was not put up despite reminders and we felt thats where viewers would have noted the house was for sale as more public access. Emma helped facilitate the purchase who was great, kept me informed and helped any questions I had (I had a lot!), Nadine helped me greatly on the lettings side again answering all the questions and provided me regular updates, helped arrange contractors and helped on the management side. Overall everything moved swiftly, and we have a good working relationship, looking forward to purchasing and lettings through Browns in the future. The vibe of browns is its more family type service i.e. they get back to you quickly etc rather than the other typical chains of estate agents you get. Its a pleasure! 10/10

Can't fault the service, such a fast and what seemed like a much simpler process than most Estate agencies.

Decided to get a letting agent involved with the rental of my property
I chose Browns because they sold a house for me previously and were excellent,
I am very pleased to say the letting side is just as good .
Emily, did a first class job advertising the property, finding tenants, showing them round and communicating with me at each step of the way . Even if Emily was not available messages were passed on and responded to very promptly
We now have a tenant and are just waiting for them to move in
So satisfied with the whole process, I’m going to put the property in the hands of Browns In whom I have the utmost confidence.

Two faced staff, you ring them , they send a form to fill out and ignore you. They said they had a room for me to view , they booked the viewing and ignored me , did not show up neither send the details of the address. Be careful . Sold our house for us in 2 weeks!
They excelled with their communication and making sure things were happening. The for sale sign was up within 10 minutes haha.
What I liked the most is they spoke to me often, and not just my partner (I've found other companies tend to address everything to my husband and just ignore that I exist) and felt really comfortable talking with them. Our account was usually handled by the same person which was nice. Kerry and Olivia were amazing.

Well please note this review is for overseas people who are travelling to uk for studies and other purposes.
I contacted Browns for few properties to let, as I am a student in the uk obviously I’ll look for a property close to my college and I found couple of them, but as per these letting agents what really unacceptable was they need a guarantor in the uk, well letting agent please understand this I AM AN OVERSEAS STUDENT WHICH MEANS I DONT LIVE IN THE UK, so how it will be possible for me to get a guarantor.? I also gave the option of paying upfront rent of my tenure but still said we need a guarantor.
In this pandemic situation I suffered a lot to find a property to let, it’s my humble request to the agents kindly take out this clause of guarantor or else just mention in your property it’s only for uk citizens.

Contacted to see a property, when they contacted back to confirm the viewing I asked if pets were allowed in the property as we need to move in with our pets, 3 days and no reply, obviously we didnt go to the time we asked to go and see the property on their website. Called them and asked about it they said no and that they also dont get bonds they need a guarantor, which is impossible as I dont have any family in the UK. worst estate agents ever only use guarantor then when leave property take as much as can from the guarantor flats arnt cleaned when you move in but when you leave you have to have them professionally carpet cleaned and painted not in a medium colour grey or they take you to court

This is probably my worse experience with an estate agency. Doesn't seem they know how to draft paperwork. All wrong. Keep all your receipts what you pay guys you will need them. The worse part is after 6 months of renting they have nothing to do with you and you have to deal with the lard lord yourself which can be frustrating, time consuming and a complete headache. 1 star for the shop. Modern and clean.

Kerry Brown evicted me for asking for recycling bins. My partner and I had been living in a room in a large HMO managed by Browns for 8 months. We were very good tenants, with zero arrears, quiet and clean. We got along well with the other residents. They only supplied the building with a general waste bin, and I had been talking to the office about providing recycling bins for the residents for the past couple months. They gave me a number of excuses and I finally got the council involved. The day after I informed them I had contacted the council, we were evicted with 72 hours to leave. The reason given was that I had been asking for recycling bins. The good news is that the council has now provided the residence with a paper recycling bin, but there are still no bins for other types of recycling. Browns lets 78 buildings in the area. That's a lot of rubbish going to the landfill that doesn't need to be, and I was shocked that they chucked us out for having a conscience.
