We recently signed for a rental property in Dalston and we can’t recommend Courtneys enough. Tim’s communication was excellent and made us feel very reassured right from the initial viewing until we picked up the keys a few months later. As soon as our offer was accepted Tim set up a WhatsApp group with myself and my partner to update us on the timeline for moving in and any other important information. Tim at Courtneys is incredibly polite and positive, as well as detailed, and we can’t thank him enough for making our move feel smooth and easy!

they may be good for landlords, but as a tenant I've been very disappointed. They only do enough, never give you a friendly advice, always pretend to being correct towards all the parts while they're really only caring of their income. Never had big things to complain but many small ones - for example using their fob to get into the building and in front of my door instead of using the intercom to get access, even when invited to.
Edit: 10 years after I left this review - they decided to reply with some accusations, so it seems that they haven’t changed! For the records, I left the flat clean, and paid for the end of tenancy cleaning, like requested. But hey, this show again they are not nice. Approach with caution.

Despite what Tim states below, they offered us an extra year at a reduced rate (clearly we were good tenants). The one star review is as a result of a classic attempt to make up exit charges for tenants - £60 for cleaning an empty freezer drawer. Good for landlords bad for tenants!

Tim and his team have been extraordinary throughout the flat sale process!! I needed to completely rely on them as I am based abroad. They exceeded my expectations! They made the process so much smoother, from the visit of potential buyers until the actual sale, constantly chasing and coordinating the various parties involved (the buyer, the lawyers, the handyman, the removal firm), always answering quickly and providing updates. They even assisted to pass by the house to switch on the heating when temperatures were negative to avoid the risk of pipes bursting.

Our experience at Courtneys can’t be better. When we first saw our flat available online we contacted Tim and Andre, which were extremely quick at showing the flat and making everything smooth.
Once the landlord accepted our offer they started the moving in process supporting us in every question and keeping everything very clear. Once we moved in the apartment was even better than before, all painted and clean to the last detail. Tim and Andre even arranged some calls with us to check some details in the apartment before we moved in.
Once we moved we had some welcoming gifts and they continue to support us, almost weekly with any question we might have, being really quick at fixing any issue and always extremely friendly doing it.
Highly recommend Courtneys, specially Tim and Andre if you are looking for your next flat!

Tim and Lauren have been on top of everything. I requested a viewing with 2h notice, as I was leaving the city for 10 days for work, and they made it happen. Super grateful as the flat was exactly hat I was looking for. I suggested a house improvement, on top of some maintenance works they were already taking care of, and they met a deal with the landlord within a couple of days.

Viewed houses with them a few moths ago i didn't write a review because I was working abroad, now I am back, a review is a review no matter how late it is. I liked a property the 'agent' was compulsive,pushy and dominant. He did not know much about the house or details (he looked like he was the manager, chubby guy). He played it like there were so many people lining for the property and expressing how quick it will be taken if I don't make and immediate decision. I knew this property was on the market a good few months and has not had that much interest. Once I had decided to go for it he kept raising the price what he didn't know was that the person he was talking to was my friend and he told me how he has given him a higher figure than me. I guess commission is all that matters. I am using my brother in laws google account because this guy looks scary and can be capable of harassment, I don't wish to get into any sticky situations due this review. Reason I say this is he got very rude to me when I pulled out.
I found a nice place myself. Please do NOT trust this agency.They only try to make money of someone's misery and pretend like they are helping but then you appose to them then their true colors be shown

I have to say if you give a rubbish service then be prepared to get slated. I have seen the reviews and there are the agents who are clearly getting it right... and are getting the praise they deserve. Unfortunately this "agent" and I'm using this term very loosely, is ranked 4.7 and having had laughably poor service from them, I am surprised by their rating and recognize some of the complaints listed . I fail to understand how this estate agent works based on 1 or two people working in the office,It is about extortionate and unearned fees, shockingly bad service and a rude, bad demeanor.

I have called them a few times after 6 rings or so a robotic lady takes my details and tells me someone will call me back. This never happens, I was very interested in a property that has now possibly been let. I missed a couple of properties due to complete silence. I live locally and I decided to visit the agency to find out why my calls were not being answered. As i walked in there was a pungent smell of damp mixed with what only I could sense something dead. I saw a lady there (the only one present), she continued to type away as I was walking in and greeted me. I asked her where everyone was she replied they are out on views. I looked around, this let me to believe there was only her and one other person in the office. Few days later I walked past again and only the same lady and one man were there (I walked past many times). How can an agency be ran by just two people this is mind boggling, explains why my calls were never returned , they don't have the man power, how do they manage properties between themselves?

I would like to leave my real name but I don't want anyone from courtney to contact me. I called in a few days ago asking question about a property and the man on the phone said who will be paying the rent for you, will I be paying the rent for you. How can you speak to people in this manner you are supposed to be a business. This person should be sacked straightaway. Reading the reply for Socha I think this company is not caring about their image they seem nasty vindictive and vile, also if the review is a good review it is true but if the review is bad then it must be fake, this makes me laugh.
You say in your reply you have a criteria in which you ask how much your earnings are and check how much the rent is affordable understood, I have spoken to many other agents they din't have the audacity to say to me will I be paying the rent! You don't have to explain the procedure to me or the company policy. In you company policy does it state you can be utterly rude to your proposed clients? still you are not admitting that you have said this, just covering up for each other.

Great team there ! Finally an agency managed by humans vs others that are only focused on making the most commissions. I entered by chance in the agency, described what i was looking for and within 10 min, they had one idea for me which was a flat not yet on the market. It worked perfectly... Hello everyone, I here to say my experiences l have with estate agents and I have not be with Courtney estate and estate agency is a quck way to look for any kind property someone want to rent from them. Moreover rent house or room or flat you have to be especific because their time is very small to spend with clients and don't ???? call them out of service hours and problems I have with some estate agency is their charge fees so high see room price 350pound a month and estate agency want to take 150 for a charge that too much anyway never rent from Estate agency but if I will do I will be paying a such amount to rent rooms or any kind of a house ????.

I had heard so many nightmare stories about letting agents before moving to London from the US but when I found Courtneys they were so amazingly helpful with all the logistics of getting a flat in London.
They were super patient while I was figuring out how to open a bank account when I first got here and helped me figure out the utilities and council tax situation as well.
