Enquired 3/11/25 about a rental property at Albany Ct., Bromley Rd., Shortlands that had caught my eye on Rightmove. Instead of being able to speak directly to a human being at their office I was sent an online form via SMS to complete(!). So I duly filled in the form and submitted, fully expecting somebody to have the courtesy to respond. Nobody ever did. Chased it up via a ‘phone call their Southborough Lane, Bromley office 9 days later where I left my details and nature of enquiry to be passed on. Again, nobody ever got back to me. Just the other week I noticed that the property has since been let. As a landlord I can wholeheartedly recommend David James. After having an awful experience with another letting agent, we needed to switch letting agents mid-tenancy at short notice. After emailing David James, they called me back within the hour and explained how we could proceed with switching the tenancy over to them and took the time to answer my questions, as well as offer me some sound advice. Based on their quick response and helpful approach I decided to move the management of the property over to them and I'm glad I did. They solved all of the issues left by the previous letting agent including getting new gas and electrical certificates in place and changing the locks, and liaised with the tenants to make sure everything went smoothly and painlessly. They have been managing the property for a number of months now, and a few maintenance issues have arisen in this time. I have been impressed with how quickly and efficiently these have been dealt with. The quotes given by their contractors have been very fair. Very sad and felt let down. I have been with this estate agent for many years and was happy with them, but as soon as the owner wanted to sell the property, no one didn’t help me finding somewhere else. I have looked on their website and they have so many properties that I could of moved into. No one said , look we have this property which you might like. This was a stressful time and I didn’t felt I was supported. I thought it would of been in their own interest to transition me in one of their properties that they managed.... Read more

Emailed asking to view a property - was given the incorrect date twice, then told the original agreed time had been taken. Finally managed to view and offered immediately to place holding deposit down. Had no emails back until chased via email and phone multiple times, only to be told the property is now under offer. Still no response back from David. Shoddy company and appalling organisation skills (if any). Really fit the reputation estate agents are given.... Read more

My sale took a long time but David James stuck with me and continued to work for me all the time and ultimately we had a successful outcome which I believe was solely down to David James Estate Agents. In particular Vicky Ingram from the Post Sales Department was attentive and reassuring to me at times when I felt the sale would never happen. She was my first point of contact as it was her that was communicating with all the other parties and unlike my solicitor she kept me regularly updated.
