I've been well supported by Michael and Carlos throughout the sale of my brother's retirement apartment. Despite the disappointment of an early buyer pulling out, and then my brother passing away, so we had to start again ; they were always positive and diligent to keep things moving.
The communication was always good but not in a over pushy way, as can be the case with some agents.
Retirement apartments are rarely a straightforward sale but we got the job done very smoothly in the end.
Highly recommended from my perspective.

Back in 2024 I attempted to purchase a property this agency was marketing. An offer was made and accepted by the vendor . After 14 weeks into the process he decided to pull out of the process.
It was only now that the branch manager Michael Whitfield informed me that the seller had done this 4 times before to other people. Had I been informed of this at the outset I would not have made an offer.He also told me that they would not act on his behalf again to protect any prospective buyers. I took him at his word.
You can imagine my surprise when
I see the same property recently
listed on their website. I did try and contact the managing director Darren Greenaway for an explanation but he failed to ring me back. Finally a quote from his website “ My beliefs are always to have integrity, tell the truth and always look after the customer “
I hope in the future they abide by
this. Update. I have been asked by the branch manager to remove this post but I refused because it was an honest review. He has now disputed my account of events and facts so l have been left with no choice but to enclose a copy of an email sent to me to back up my original post. I can see they have come back and tried to edit their initial response some hours after originally posting it I wonder why.

I feel compelled to take time away from wading through unpacking boxes (we completed on our sale and purchase only 2 days ago) to write about the amazing experience I've had with Greenaway Residential in East Grinstead. Crucially, Michael and Carlos have not only worked tirelessly to achieve a sale but their communication has been second to none, and furthermore, they take time to build a genuine relationship with their clients. Michael even came round at 7pm on the night before we moved to collect a door key for the new vendors to save me having to drive to them on completion day. If you're looking for an Estate Agency who cares, who have your best interests at heart, and one that doesn't charge you through the nose to do an awesome job, then Greenaway are the ones for you. Having consulted 4 different Estate Agents, Michael stood out from the rest with his clear, friendly and professional manner. He led us through the process, which we had not engaged in for 42 years, and his expertise gave us the confidence to proceed with placing our property on the market.
The market transpired to be severely depressed, but through the ups and downs we were kept fully informed and updated and along with Carlos who provided feedback from the viewers.
Once we had a confirmed offer Michael and Carlos kept us fully up to date and liaised with all members of the chain to advance us to completion. To say moving is a stressful process would be an understatement, but through it all we had the confidence that our interests were being skillfully managed by Greenaway's.
We couldn't fault any aspect of the selling process and can fully recommend Greenways. There are other local estate agents who have a less than glowing reputation, but that does not apply to Michael & Carlos.

We couldn't fault our experience of selling our property with Greenaway. When Michael came around on the initial visit he was the only agent out of our shortlist who actually showed interest and enthusiasm in our house. Our journey from listing to completion was not a smooth journey with several time wasters but Michael was always positive and proactive. Carlos did the majority of the viewings and was quick to get back to us with the feedback. From the point of accepting an offer up to the day of completion Michael was updating us on the sale and pushing when needed and even helped with aspects of our purchase. Even though the selling was very stressful at times, I don't think we would have had a better service from another agent. We could not give less than five stars to Greenaway.

Very happy with Greenaway Residential. The sale of our leasehold flat was a very lengthy job. The freeholder was extremely difficult to deal with, charged exorbitant prices, kept on putting up obstacle after obstacle. Michael and Carlos of Greenaway Residential did absolutely everything possible to get this through despite the problems. I am very thankful for their service, their perseverance and keeping their doors open at all time for us.
They even waived their fees because of what we had gone through. I highly recommend them!

Greenaway Residential Estate and Lettings Agent are by far the best Estate and Letting Agents that we have ever dealt with and that’s from people who have bought and sold dozens of properties over the last 45 years.
Michael Whitehead and his team provided a fantastic service in our time of need, when a relative had a life changing medical event requiring us to sell a rental house they owned in East Grinstead. Unfortunately, the relative had been unable to keep on top of their property.
Despite these issues Michael and his team unflinchingly got stuck into the problems, came up with a well-thought-out plan to obtain vacant possession whilst marketing the property, and helping ensure that the tenant happily moved to a nearby property, even before we had given formal notice.
Greenaway Residential then achieved six viewings on the first weekend and guided us to first-time purchasers who could potentially complete the purchase in a timely manner. We even got an acceptable price bearing in mind the neglected state of the property.
This was achieved in just 3 months from initially contacting Greenways to completion of the sale and the money in the bank. Michael kept on top of the conveyancing process and ensured good communication between all parties resulting in one of the fastest and smoothest transfers we have ever encountered. All this within the fee quoted which we felt was very reasonable considering all the hard work put in.
We would also like to mention the help from Carlos at Greenaway Residential resolving a hiccup after the sale completed, giving us good advice resulting in the issue being resolved within a couple of days. So, a big thank you from us to the whole team at Greenaway Residential.

Michael and his team are hugely personable and very easy to work with. They somehow manage to take the stress out of the buying / selling process with their diligence and understanding of the various stages . Let's get this right. There are a lot of Estate Agents in East Grinstead and I visited all of them. Buying a house is stressful enough and I found one of the Estate Agents dishonest so we were not feeling great. Michael Whitehead changed this. As soon as we came in, he was warm and friendly and I just had a feeling that he told it how it is. We had already viewed several houses, so set something up with him to look at a house. Liked it and then arranged another few visits just to make sure it was what we wanted. Mike made this happen and juggled things around to accommodate us. We put several offers in. I would add that he was the only estate agent that actually gave us the offer letters! We had it accepted. Fast forwarding quite a few months and we had an issue with HM Land Registry. I don't know what we would have done if it wasn't for Mike. He spent more time making enquiries and keeping us up to date than our solicitor did and if it wasn't for him, we would have pulled out of the sale. He kept us updated all of the time, was honest and managed our expectations and changed my mind about what an estate agent should be. Massive credit to the firm and needless to say, that we ended up moving into our new home last week, thanks to him. Have already recommended Greenaway to several friends. They are a cut above the others in the town.

Really disappointed with the service at Greenaway Residential - East Grinstead. Greenaway acquired spaces in a private car park in East Grinstead, which as a very local resident with nowhere to park, I enquired as soon as I heard. After months of chasing every week for a space, after being told the owner of the car park hasn’t signed the contract, or the owner hasn’t passed on the keys, along with other delays, I finally heard from a neighbour that they had managed to secure a space through Greenaways, I called the office right away, and was told all the spaces had suddenly gone. I was so disappointed to hear, as due to being a keen chaser for a space, I was told by employees at Greenaways that I was “top of the list” to get a space after chasing the most, and was also told they they hadn’t heard from a lot of others who initially enquired about a space so “they’d dropped off the list”. I now have no options to park at my flat, and I’m just really disappointed with how poorly managed the car park spaces have been.

What a great experience and such a professional and at the same time personal company. Finally moved our flat from Bleeders (Leaders) property management and in the first few days we can already see the difference. Its so nice to find such a professional service that really do understand and have their customers interest at heart, whilst looking after the welfare of the tenants. If you are with one of the larger country wide property management companies I cannot recommend more highly to end your contract with them and move to a real company who will deal with you in a professional way.

I am delighted to write this review for Michael (again), who recently helped me secure a property and guided me through securing the rental property and a referencing process. Michael was incredibly helpful, kind, and hard-working, consistently going the extra mile to assist and ensure a successful outcome. It comes as no surprise that he has been promoted to manager.
In the past few weeks, I have dealt with many letting agents, and it has not always been a pleasant experience. However, Michael stands out as a stellar example of fantastic customer service. He is not only kind but also smart and innovative, willing to make a few extra calls to get things done. Darren, the Managing Director, made an excellent decision in promoting him, as Michael creates a positive atmosphere for the entire office. The only time I felt stressed throughout the process, was when Michael was on holidays! (Well deserved by the way).
Carlos, who also works there, is very kind and helpful as well. Unlike many other agents on the same street, there is no attitude or patronizing behavior from either of them. Having become frustrated with another agent, I rang the East Grinstead Greenaway office. I arranged an appointment with Michael for 2pm that afternoon - Thursday. We signed the contract there and then; pictures and video were taken on Saturday; over a dozen viewings were made on Monday; viewings on Tuesday; tenant agreed Wednesday. Tenant moved in following Monday. Michael, Madison and Kirsten were knowledgeable, efficient and above all very lovely. A very positive experience.

Due to the buyers conveyancer the process took longer than expected.

We rent a property from Greenaways who also manage it, we ran into an issue with the property and the plumbers they had sent out to us, Ben and his son... were just awesome, booked in with us to be at the property first thing and were here prompt and ready...and didn't leave till they solved the issue... put furniture back and cleaned up after themselves... the most polite punctual plumbers we ever came across.

Micheal and his team in East Grinstead have sold many of the properties in a retirement development that I manage . They are the most honest, reliable and generous team of Estate Agents that I have ever worked with. They actually care about people of an older age group that are downsizing and get to know them personally. Every Christmas and on special occasions that we have with our residents they generously donate wine and beverages to make the events more special. But what really is surprising and makes them extra special is the enormous charitable work they do at Christmas. They buy and package hundreds of hampers (which includes whole turkeys, vegetables and treats) for those less fortunate and in need, in the local area. Quite simply 'nice people to do business with'.

Michael was great and was able to help sell our house with minimal fuss within a few weeks of listing.
Although we ended up selling at slightly under asking price (largely due to the market), the process was good and relatively straightforward.
I'd 100% use them again although it would only be because of Michael. I also love the fact that they have a charitable arm and it swung my decision away from Mayhews.

We used Greenaway estate agents to sell a flat that was in need of some updating. After not getting very far with other local estate agents (and one not even wanting to take it on) Greenaway found a buyer within a week of marketing. Unfortunately due to several technical issues with the lease of the flat and issues relating to the change of government, the sale went on for many months with many challenges. Michael from Greenaway is an outstanding estate agent. He was honest, kept me fully informed and was always readily available for any questions. I believe the sale eventually competed due to his perseverance and experience of dealing with out of the ordinary circumstances. I am grateful for his commitment, calmness and listening/responding to me almost on a daily basis. I would wholeheartedly recommend their service and thank them very much.

We purchased both our new home via Greenaways and used them to sell our existing property. We found them very professional and Michael, in particular, went beyond the call of duty.
It is nearly 40 years since we purchased our previous home and Michael played an invaluable role in answering our questions about today's house buying and selling process and in acting as a middleman between us and the other parties in the transactions. He was also very generous with his time in providing access to the property we have now purchased, so that family members could view it and so we could take measurements for refurbishment work.

I cannot fault the efforts of Michael at Greenaway East Grinstead. He worked super hard at every stage, including when i lost my origial buyer. I needed an agent who would work hard to keep the chain moving and they did.
Friendly, knowledgeable and certainly putting the customer first.
I would certainly recommend them to anyone considerig selling and if you are looking to buy get your name on the books!

My girlfriend and I recently moved into a rented property in East Grinstead and although we’ve come across a few problems (no fault of Greenaway’s) Chris has always been on the other end of the phone. Even over the Christmas period when he was supposed to be on holiday he worked tirelessly to resolve the issuers we occurred, for that we are forever grateful. I cannot recommend this company enough, they are a great team and always going the extra mile.
