I had an unpleasant experience renting through Jayson Russell. When I moved in, the stove, washer, and toilet were broken, and about half of the lights didn’t work.
My main issue, however, is the dishonesty of the agent, Daniel. During the viewing, I specifically asked if there were any families or children in the building, as I was concerned about potential noise. He told me it was occupied only by single professionals. This turned out to be untrue — both my next-door and upstairs neighbours are families with children. Had I known this, I would not have taken the property.
Since moving in, I’ve had three separate power outages, which is completely unacceptable for a residential property. When I raised this issue with Daniel, he dismissively replied, “That’s normal, I had a power cut yesterday.” Additionally, there was a problem with a broken lock — my neighbour could open my door with their own key.
I had initially planned to stay with Jayson Russell and even considered asking Russell (who has generally been reliable, though I now question his oversight of his colleague) to help me find another flat. However, due to the ongoing property issues and Daniel’s dishonesty, I’ve decided to move out once my current tenancy ends.
I hope Jayson Russell can improve their management and integrity — otherwise, they risk losing good future tenants.

They've always been quick to respond, kept us well-informed, and handled everything with care and efficiency. If you can avoid using this estate agent, then do. I rented my first student flat from this company. When I first moved in the flat had no flooring, mould and holes in the walls. We discovered around two weeks in that the electrics in the kitchen were all coming from one extension cord plugged in under our sink, which at the time was leaking.
Aside from the hazardous property (myself and my flatmate were both being charged £850pcm to live here, by the way) the conduct of some of the estate agents has been poor at best. I have had no issues with some of the estate agents working there, many have been quite pleasant and frankly good at their jobs. Unfortunately on the day I went to return my keys I was shouted at by an estate agent for not knowing all of the information about the flat on moving out off the top of my head. Instead of being patient and explaining to me what needed to be done, he acted as if it was an inconvenince for me to be coming into the office, he was rude and disrespectful in his manner and talked down to me for the entire interaction.
I felt intimidated and disrespected, as I have mentioned I am a student, this is my first time living away from home and I am still a teenager.
The new estate agent I am with has been nothing but pleasant and polite, so you cant even blame it on London living standards. This has been a consistent theme with this particular member of staff.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Daniel Robinson from Jayson Russell Agency during a property viewing at Bunns Lane, Mill Hill, London. I initially requested to view the property at 10:00 AM, but Daniel insisted on a 10:30 AM appointment, to which I agreed.
On the day of the viewing, Daniel called me at 10:10 AM, asking me to arrive earlier. I explained that I was traveling by public transport and would be there at the agreed time of 10:30 AM. Unfortunately, due to unexpected public transport delays, I realized I might be slightly late and called Dan at 10:25 AM to inform him and ask for just 5 extra minutes.
Despite this communication, Daniel called me at 10:34 AM, saying he was leaving the property. When I explained that I had spent over an hour and a half traveling and was just a few minutes away, he rudely dismissed my concerns, scolded me, and left without showing the property.
This level of unprofessionalism and lack of basic courtesy is unacceptable, especially in the real estate industry. Property viewings typically allow for a 15-minute window, yet Daniel chose to leave without fulfilling his duty, despite still being within the agreed viewing time. His behavior was inconsiderate and disrespectful.
Moreover, this experience makes me concerned for anyone who decides to buy or rent a property through this agent. If Daniel Robinson behaves this rudely and dismissively during a simple property viewing, I can only imagine how frustrating it would be to deal with him after a sale, especially if any issues such as repairs arise. Based on his attitude, it’s easy to predict that he might respond to future concerns with the same lack of professionalism and care, potentially leaving clients feeling ignored and mistreated.
I strongly advise potential clients to be cautious when dealing with Daniel Robinson from Jayson Russell Agency, as his attitude and lack of professionalism could lead to a similarly frustrating experience, both during the property search and beyond.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I was travelling from far to view a flat which I was 5-10 late. The agent called me and I said I would be about 5 minutes due to traffic. When I got to flat and called the agent told me he’s left. No communication to say he’s leaving after I drove an hour to get to the flat. Call the office and they were just as useless. I think this is very unprofessional and no consideration for the client. I would avoid this company as they have no patients and professionalism.

Extremely disappointing experience with these guys - avoid at all costs. Unprofessional agents and especially someone called Daniel who is one to avoid - only thing they are agents of is harassment on phone and we are thankful we avoided an in person meeting with these guys. Looks like they are untrained and run a scam or something given other comments here. We are also looking if we can report them to NTSE and or other forums.
Will recommend to go for a bigger better agent like Martyn Gerrard and I think these guys should switch to a business which suits their attitude - letting agents is not one of them

I really can't recommend Jayson Russell highly enough. They were professional and helpful all throughout my student tenancy, when that's a group easily side-lined by housing companies. They were very quick with sending round repairmen when we needed it. When people came round to view the house I was renting at the time, the estate agent Dan (who is great Btw) encouraged the viewers to ask me about the cost of bills and my experience with the property, rather than just charging through or being evasive about the more negative aspects.
Whilst some reviews have complained about needing a guarantor owning property in the UK, this is not a practise exclusive to Jayson Russell and I've seen other companies do this. After renting in London I can say an attitude of 'that's how it is, it definitely makes it harder for people' is one that is true and was met with genuine sensitivity. They've been my best Landlords in London.

I rented from them just over a year ago with two others and the experience was just awful.
Firstly, they weren't very clear whilst we were signing the papers to move into the flat on what exactly we were supposed to pay and what we were to sign.
Secondly, there were quite a few spelling mistakes in those emails, which I think is quite unprofessional.
Thirdly, as we were students, we were exempt from paying council tax. I thought they had handled this as they asked for our certificate of enrolment on the courses we were studying on, obviously to prove we were students. Sadly not, as in January, we had found letters from the council demanding council tax that we weren't supposed to be paying.
If you think that's bad, sadly, their own staff have written reviews on Facebook, Google and Allagents as it looks like they aren't getting enough good reviews. I know that as one of the reviews came from the agent I had been emailing, and the another two, according to Allagents work there as well.
I don't like writing bad reviews, and I'm sorry I have to write this, but unfortunately, I have to if others are thinking about using this Estate Agent and want to know how good it is.

I don't even want to write 1 star because the whole experience concluded to not be very good whatsoever. I cannot fault the properties they showed us as the properties they were showing us were in good condition and just what we were looking. It was the agents themselves that were the problem. They were aggressive, dismissive and most definitely were trying to con us out of as MUCH money as possible. I understand living in London is not easy but this was an approach that we have received from NO other agencies. Not only the admin fee and standard deposit, but two months rent, an overly large deposit, this fee that fee, and guarantor was expected to OWN a property in the UK. With many customers in North London being students and most people's parents/families not owning properties in the UK it was the first I had been interrogated about this. Having a reliable working guarantor is no longer enough? What are they going to do take people's homes away from them now? One of the younger agents from an ethnic background was dismissive and seemed uninterested. He only cared about giving us figures and bumping up the prices. The Caucasian agent was aggressive when telling us 'how-it-is'. There was no customer care involved whatsoever! Money making agents, I do not recommend.

Were a great estate agents at first, before I turned up to an arranged viewing for them to accuse me of cancelling, when I went to rearrange they then told me the properties were no longer available, convenient. They then failed to turn up to future arranged viewings, I wouldn't waste my time!

One of the worst estate agents in London. The photos of properties are not the ones they take you to see and once you find somewhere your interested in they push the price up. The agents I have met have all been very rude and aggressive and a colleague of mine who also used the agents was asked to pay a holding deposit TWICE after they 'lost' the record saying it had been paid. Avoid this estate agents at all costs!

I have to say that dealing with this company has been very easy indeed and after being a tenant in 3 of their managed properties throughout my student time at middlesex university I couldn't have asked for a better service, and I also got all of my deposits returned which now-a-days is a plus !
