If I could give zero stars, I would. John D Wood in Weybridge are all talk and no action. They managed my rental property with complete indifference and proved to be the least bothered company I’ve ever dealt with. Property managers were constantly changed without any communication, leaving me not knowing who to contact. Emails to managers were ignored, and follow-ups went unanswered. Attempts to reach the lady in charge of lettings were pointless—she was either on holiday or “unwell,” sometimes for weeks or even months.
This shocking lack of professionalism caused me financial loss. They showed no accountability, no urgency, and no respect for their clients. Communication was consistently poor, leaving me chasing them endlessly with no updates or clarity. Staff were unreliable, with constant turnover and nobody willing to take responsibility. Instead of offering solutions, they always had excuses for why they couldn’t help. Their attitude was unfriendly and dismissive, treating genuine concerns as an inconvenience rather than part of their job. Basic property management duties were neglected, leaving both tenants and landlords frustrated.
Absolutely shocking service from start to finish. We are relieved to no longer have to deal with this company. If you value professionalism, responsiveness, and peace of mind, stay far away from John D Wood Weybridge.

I lived with Mum over the past 20 years - sadly she was diagnosed with cancer a couple of years ago, which resulted in me convincing Mum to downsize and buy a more 'open plan' house with easy access that would facilitate Mum's failing health. John D Wood found us a fantastic home.
After my mother sadly lost her battle with cancer last year, as the executor, I put her house on the market again with John D Wood. I wanted to sell it at the same price Mum bought it for, or at least hope that for more, but Olivia at John D Wood was firm that the property was not worth what we had paid for it. After many viewings over last Christmas, I received many offers. Olivia wanted me to accept the very first 'low ball offer' so I didn't have the stress of dragging out the selling process, which was frustrating! I held firm on not settling for any offers less than what my mother bought the house for and was happy to solely deal with Chris Chambers on future communications and the day to day viewings and feedback. Chris was a complete delight. I absolutely adored dealing with him. He had a good sense of humour, was extremely empathetic to my circumstances and sincere. He held out and shared my vision. Chris was very patient. I did end up selling the property for exactly the same price that my mum paid for it, which despite wishing for more, knowing how fickle the housing market is, I was delighted.
I cannot recommend Chris Chambers / John D Wood highly enough. Olivia and Chris really know the business and although Olivia is all 'business' and very realistic, Chris was the one that kept me positive and carried out the majority of the viewings.

I am a long term land lord with JD Wood (over 10 years). My tenant paid the rent 12 days ago and I have not received it yet!
Obviously this is causing me huge admin problems. My phone calls remain unreturned and I still don't know when/if they will pay me. There is absolutely no excuse for not honouring this payment and just ignoring me makes it worse. As a long term client I am deemed un important. This is a totally UNPROFESSIONAL way to behave and shocking to both me and the tenant.

I had the pleasure to deal with Joshua Gultig, lettings negotiator. He was very professional, polite, kept us informed, called me back the next day with answers to the questions that arose during the viewing. He had very good knowledge about the property and the area. He was also very kind, offered us an umbrella while we waited for the viewing, although the wait was only a couple of minutes. Overall an outstanding experience compared to all the other agents I have dealt with.

We decided to sell our rental property in Weybridge through John D Wood after a positive and enthusiastic conversation with Tom Barham, the office manager.
They Set up 10 viewings in days resulting in 3 potential offers. Each potential buyer was well qualified, assessed and recommendations made. Unfortunately our chosen buyer withdrew after 6 weeks. At this point it felt like the whole office went into overdrive and viewings were organised in hours! They found a perfect buyer and we completed in a month.
It was a brilliant experience dealing with the team - responsive, calls answered in seconds, calls returned, great solicitor recommendations and the sale went through smoothly. Quinton Hutton managed the buyer and process quietly and efficiently.

An unfortunate experience with this office. Definitely there are better agents than JD Wood in the area.
Their professionalism and ability to resolve issues is minimal - They claim their job ends when the keys are handed over, with zero interest if what they hand over is according to the contract. They simply do not care and they are merely transactional and when you try to escalate it internally the entire office is just disrespectful.

After we had our offer accepted Sally Behan in Weybridge called to tell us we had been gazumped. We increased our offer above asking price but were told they wouldn’t sell to us. Turns out when the seller found out our name they decided not to sell to us for ‘personal reasons’
When pushed about ‘personal reasons’ she then said that there was actually a cash buyer who offered asking price. That property remained on the market for 5 weeks after that before it said under offer. Friends of mine were able to call and make viewings during this time.
Disappointing that a company owned by Skipton Building Society would behave like this. The honourable thing to do would be stop acting for the seller but the commission was clearly more important.

My experience with JD Wood was not a happy one, in fact having sold 7 properties previously, all in Yorkshire, this was my worst experience. In fact, it wasn’t until I said I was terminating my contract with JDWood that things started to improve. I felt for much of the time I was dealing with amateurs, and I knew more about selling property that they did. A buyer for my property was not found until I had gone to another agent. Follow up on viewings was spasmodic, with me having to make the enquiries rather than being automatic. No, I could not recommend JDWood to other potential sellers.

Fantastic experience with the whole team at John D Wood in the protracted sale of our house during the difficult circumstances put on the industry in the middle of the pandemic.
Tom was especially great at the start of the process, giving us the comfort that we were going to get a professional service in the sales process that matched with how we hoped our property would be marketed, but the real star was Dannielle who following the successful offer worked tirelessly for the next 7 months in helping to steer a long and difficult chain to conclusion, going above and beyond to almost project manage at many points the agents across the chain to ensure that we finally completed to the deadline set.
Overall a fantastic service and we felt lucky to work with such fine agents during what can be quite a stressful time.

A very disappointing experience, John D Wood had our property on their books for over 6 months, only got 3 people round in 6 months and never called us with any feedback or any advice as to what to do next, we had to call them, then they contradicted themselves on the reasons why they only found 3 people and why it wasn’t selling. We have used another agent and within a week had a family round who viewed it twice. wish I had read the reviews of others before wasting 6 months with the wrong agent.

Right from our initial enquiry on a property to rent all the way to our move in day to that same property, Tom was fantastic! Tom is personable, likeable and professional, he can't do enough to help you wherever possible and he really made this process a lot less stressful than it could have been had he not been bothered. Tom is an asset to his office and both myself and my partner would highly recommend that anyone looking to start their search for a rental property in Weybridge contacts him first!

Price agreed with Landlord, paperwork going through, financial checks done, provisional date of moving agreed. Told day before move that the Landlord has some “flags” about the financial references. Offered to pay 18k first year rent up front. JDW then came clean and said that there has been another offer and the landlord is taking that offer.... total disgrace, playing with peoples lives! Underhand and untrustworthy! Never told there was another offer on the table, simply playing both sides to ensure a sale!

Horrible estate agent.
Family of 4 with two young children, we rented a house through them while we were looking to buy.
They threatened us with eviction in order to renew our tenancy contract, which is completely illegal.
We also informed them about an illegal and unsafe boiler installation. We spoke to a professional heating engineer which informed us that under a specific scenario, the life of the occupant could be at risk. The estate agent chose to ignore this information and did not inform the new tenant and hid the evidence. It is completely shocking.

A certain estate agent in Weybridge were struggling to sell the flat so I engaged John D Wood (as well). John D Wood sold it at 1.66% below the asking so I couldn't be happier. I dealt with Thomas Barnham and he gave me a 5 star service .... he was always on the end of the phone and he followed everything through providing advice and guidance along the way. I would certainly recommend Tom - even with a beard(! ;o)).

A very professional and impressive services. James the agent who dealt with us went to great lengths to ensure that we were able to see all the properties we wanted to in a very tight schedule; he gave us a comprehensive breakdown of the agents fees (which were much more reasonable than most); and an honest run through of the contract.
Having rented seven houses in seven years and looked around dozen before settling on this one, I can honestly say they were the easiest to deal with and most professional I have come across.

I would advise anyone to avoid renting through John D Wood. Our agent, James did not represent our needs and on numerous occasions went against our wishes which eventually culminated with him raising our rent to more than we had already agreed with the landlord.
JDW continued to show people around our flat after we'd made an offer and paid for referencing, entertaining another higher offer forcing us to up our asking price after all other estate agents had removed the flat from the market.
We were manipulated and essentially blackmailed into paying above what had been agreed and threatened we'd lose out and lose our referencing fee if we did not act in a short space of time.
Estate agents are abysmal at the best of times but JDW are particularly untrustworthy, money grabbing, capricious, crooks.

I recently bought a flat from John D wood and I can't thank Jane enough as she's been absolutely amazing and great throughout the process. I was a first time buyer and didn't know anything about buying a property, but Jane was so nice and patient with me answering all the questions in a timely manner. I was also very unlucky with solicitor as she never communicated or returned emails and very unprofessional. Jane was there and helped me to hold of my solicitor and even informed me of any updates from seller's solicitor!! I was lucky to have Jane as my agent and I highly recommend her and John D wood. Also, I want to thank Vincent for doing the property viewing for me, as he was also very friendly unlike other some rude agents.
