Trilby, Valerie and the whole team at Nestegg were absolutely superb in helping us sell our father's house after his death. They provided great advice and timely feedback. It was not all plain sailing for them, or us, because of some very slack conveyancing down the chain. As first-time buyers, we had a very disappointing experience with this estate agent. After our offer on a house was accepted, the property was listed as "sold subject to contract." We made quick progress, including paying the lending fee to our mortgage provider, and were about to instruct solicitors when 7 days after our offer was accepted, we were unexpectedly informed that another offer had been received that they had made the decision to acknowledge it. On the same day, our mortgage provider contacted the agents to complete next steps and was told that another offer had been accepted, which at this point we hadn’t been informed directly from the estate agents. This left us completely unaware of what was happening, and the next day we discovered that we had been gazumped. The lack of communication and poor customer service made an already stressful situation even worse. We felt completely in the dark and unsupported throughout the process. The purpose of this review is simply to acknowledge our poor experience and hope that on reflection the agency avoid similar situations in the future.... Read more
