Unfortunately we were quite unlucky with very slow and frustrating conveyancers on our side which made it much more stressful than it should have been.<br><br>That said, Kris from Oakestates was excellent throughout. Oak Estates, mainly Kris, was amazing throughout the whole process of selling and buying. Kris was recommended to me by a friend and it is the best recommendation I've ever had.
Kris supported me through the whole process, supporting me emotionally when things were tough or confusing and telling me what was reasonable to expect and what wasn't. He was honest and straightforward, he was a great person to check out things with.
I couldn't recommend him more. Whilst I'm relieved the whole process is completed I'm a bit gutted I won't be working with him again as we've bought our forever home.

Very disappointing experience with Oak Property estate agents.
During one viewing, I was asked unusual questions about my affordability — not based on any documents — but more about questioning my seriousness and intent. It felt like they had already assumed I was just window shopping, which was both unfair and unprofessional.
I enquired about several properties but never heard back. When I followed up, I was told they were short-staffed — which didn’t explain the complete lack of communication.
When I tried to raise these concerns, I was met with a defensive and dismissive attitude. I was even asked, "how many properties have you bought?" — as though that invalidated my feedback. My concerns were laughed off and treated as if I was simply ranting.
After leaving a 1-star review, I called again hoping to view a new property listed by them — only to be refused a viewing purely because of the negative review.

It is really sad to see how you have twisted the facts of conversation. I don't think highlighting concerns over my experience of a viewing with your colleague is a form of "abuse". As stated earlier you just dismissed my feedback assuming I am not a serious buyer and there for "window shopping" (as you said over call). It is really unfortunate to see you calling out other estate agents to also follow your suit based on an honest feedback (which doesn't suit your liking).

I have rented from Carly from Oak Property’s for a few years now. It’s the worst experience of my life. As soon as something went wrong she went missing. Took two years to half fix a leak, I got blamed for everything. I had to record videos of human fetal matter on my wall, leaks coming through the ceiling. My entire home is full of mold and damp. I’m looking after my mother at the moment. She has a tumor in her lower back. Carly decided along with the landlord to evict me from my home using a non fault eviction. I’m destroyed, mentally I’m finished. What ever you do, do not trust oak property rentals or Carly their letting agent. They seem nice until something goes wrong. Please see selection of pictures I’ve attached to this review to prove what I’m saying is factual. Over 40 grand in rent I paid to them over the years. only to receive a non fault eviction. I just hope I survive this. No one cares and no one will read this anyway. So what’s the point…

Avoid this estate agent as they are among the least competent in the industry. Save your money and time by steering clear of them.
After being involved in a deal for three months, we ultimately decided to withdraw. The agents are unresponsive and conceal many anomalies of the houses. Their primary aim seems to be putting "sold" signs in front of houses to secure their commissions. Therefore, please beware!

I sincerely suggest you NEVER rent a property through this company. They're known to let their agents into properties without having the tennant agree first. On one occasion a female agent accessed a particular property for a viewing without notifying the tenant. Luckily the Tennant was home at the time and rightfully told said agent where to sling their hook. Can you imagine if the tennant was in a particular private situation?! It's not the only time they've done this either. Stay away form Oak Estates people!

Kris went out of his way to help me with my new purchase (from a different estate agent) and intervened readily when needed to support me with the new purchase. Kris kept in regular contact with me and my buyers and was genuinely warm, honest (and funny) throughout.

I tried to rent a property through Oak Estates and they came across as thorough professionals.
Considered our request, discussed with landlord and made efforts to agree a deal that works for all parties. Generally found them helpful in all aspects. I hope my tenancy goes well too.

Hands down the worst estate agents I have ever gone with. All they care about is the money and couldn't care less about you once they have got it. Money grabbing and useless. AVOID THEM if you want a good experience!!!!

I agreed a purchase of a property with these estate agents. On two occasions they tried to put the price of property up after sending the paper work. I don't know who they lied to, me or the vendor but they definitely intentionally misled the sale. In the end I refused to pay the extra and that was the end of it. Typical estate agents, will say whatever they need to to get a transaction through. Beware of their well rehearsed and smooth talking sales tactics and lines. AVOID!

After speaking with Chris off and on for a few years, always helpful and with no actual business being gained, I decided to give them a go.
Excellent!!!
Whilst not as cheap as I can get, they are not expensive either and you know what they say about getting anything too cheap!
Professional throughout and no issues on adding the odd requirements to my contract as well as how I do things and my diligence in pre rental checks.
I even called Chris for a chat about how he sees things playing out with the new developments on out doorstep.
Just to be clear, it's not just Chris, it's the whole team who I have found
professional, helpful and friendly.
I have no hesitation in giving them a chance to let my properties as they become available and just see to how we go on a case by case basis.

**DO NOT USE THESE**
Terrible place, take deposits and then do not refund them.
They tell you it’s refundable but they don’t refund you.
Then they try to make out that if you pull out of an agreement before you’ve even started
the paperwork you should lose your deposit. The same deposit they verbally tell you is refundable. If you do use this company please make sure you record every word the agent says.
Avoid Chris like the plague.

Fantastic estate agent. We have used them to let one of our properties in Watford for long time. The tenants are very happy with them as they always Inform us immediately if there are any repairs or concerns from the tenants. From our side, they would arrange the repairs on our behalf if we requested. It saves us so much time. Professional and helpful. We will use them for our other properties definitely. The most horrific experience we ever had with any agency. We have lived in a property for a year with rats, condensation and cluster flies with a premature small baby. The agency has not done their job and let us in this situation. I would never recommend anyone to deal with them!

Without doubt THE worst lettings agent you could get involved with and a landlord and a tenant! They are the dodgiest dealers I've ever come across and wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. IF you like to be conned, lied to, extorted and ignored they're the lettings agent for you. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I have been provided an outstanding service from the Oak Estates team.
They sold my flat very quickly and gave a great service in providing me with constant updates on the progress of my sale so I always knew what was going on.
If I ever had any queries or concerns Kris would be only a phone call away and always more than happy to help.
I was also provided a further mortgage broker service, which again has been great!
I have been given full updates on any progress and the communication provided is excellent.
Overall I have been provided with a first-rate service.
Oak Estates take all the hard work out of buying and selling and I would use their services again in the future. I highly recommend their services.

My husband and I needed to move quickly due to starting a new job. We had valuations from several local and national estate agents and found Kris from Oak by far the best. He was very open and upfront about our house and we appreciated that. The rest of the team were always helpful and polite and within 2 weeks our house was sold stc. Impressive considering other houses on our road are still on the market. When we had questions or concerns Kris was happy to take our calls, and emails, and really pulled the stops out when it was needed. All being well we will be moving mid summer.

Kris was fantastic during our recent sale. He is honest and pragmatic in his approach. He also looks to get the right buyer, rather than a scattergun approach.
He also mediated and kept the buyer in the loop, which was important as the conveyance took place concurrently with the acquisition of the freehold title and lease extensions. This was no mean feat, given that this process is full of needless delays!
In summary, if you are looking to sell in the Watford area, I'd recommend Oak Estates!

Rep turned up from the company, made a silly remark about the toys in the flat, which he clearly thought was funny. It was not. Looked around, but gave the impression he was in a bit of a rush. He then asked about pictures and was the flat on with other agents and he was told yes. Then proceeded to tell me they preferred sole agency and in this case it was obvious that his preference was not to represent me as he picked up his belongings and left. Gave no reason for why I was not preferred. Very unprofessional as I had made it clear from the call yesterday there were other agents involved and I had had to make space in my day for this meeting.
