We looked at traditional estate agents & the online estate agents before deciding to go with Oughton Cook to sell our home. After a short conversation with Aimee it was a simple choice.
For us, being able to contact the same people (at anytime, not just 9-5 Monday/Friday) from the start of the process to the end was amazing. No waiting around for answers, no chasing unanswered emails.
They sorted everything to maximise our sale opportunities and kept us informed throughout. Handled all of the viewings without us having to be involved at all.
While we were looking for a new home, we viewed another house they were selling. Darren’s approach was refreshing compared with other houses we viewed with other estate agents. He just let us get on with it, didn’t rush us through, and answered any and all questions we had.
The experience we had was faultless - and as an added bonus it cost us less to sell with them than the big name competitors.

I can't recommend Oughton Cook highly enough. From start to finish they were excellent. Excellent marketing of my home without charging extra for professional photos etc.
The market was a bit quiet but they were confident in their valuation. It is worth remembering that anyone can sell your house for less than it is worth and I have seen many of my friends being encouraged to drop the price after only 3 weeks on the market.
I'm generally suspicious of estate agents recommending solicitors but they have been great and as they are used to working together they communicate efficiently. I got 3 quotes and they were also the cheapest.
I also got 3 quotes for removals and their recommendation was the cheapest by far and have been excellent.
As well as being professional and efficient, they are just genuinely honest, hardworking people whose reputation clearly matters.

Best Estate agents around by a country mile. We had quotations and visits from 4 different Estate agents and once we had spoken to Oughton Cook we knew that we didn’t need to look any further. They are so much better on price (in our experience by at least a third better than any other Estate agent we had spoken to). Their service is exemplary and unlike other estate agents that strictly only work 9-5 they are available by call or message at any time of the day and have always replied to us immediately with any query we had throughout the whole process. They are relentless in the pursuit of trying to push your sale through as quickly as possible and treat you as if you are the only client on their books, I have no idea how they manage to do this! Darren and Aimee are extremely professional, knowledgable and down to earth and are visibly so passionate about the job that they do. I really couldn’t fault them in the slightest throughout our whole process and would absolutely recommend them 100% over any other estate agent. Buying our first home in the UK was supposed to be a nerve-wrecking experience, and thanks to our conveyancers, it almost was, but Darren and Aimee at Oughton Cook made sure it never reached that point.
We must have bothered poor Darren more times than we can count, with multiple viewings and endless questions (some even after our offer had already been accepted, just so our visiting parents could see “our future home” in person). Yet, Darren was always just a call away, patient, approachable, and incredibly supportive.
His advice was spot-on every single time, and we trusted him completely. In the end, we got the house exactly the way we hoped for, largely because we followed Darren’s calm, confident guidance.

Absolutely exceptional service from the very first conversation to the last. Darren and Aimee responded to my enquiry almost instantly. Darren takes pride in everything you could possibly want or need from an estate agent. He arranged to value the house at a time that worked around my schedule, and his knowledge was both impressive and realistic. Honestly, they deserve far more than what they charge!
Throughout the entire process, Darren and Aimee were consistent, proactive, and incredibly quick to respond—no matter the time of day. Even while on a pre-planned holiday, they remained just as involved and supportive as ever.

We’ve had some horror experiences with estate agents in the past so we were initially on high alert and definitely hesitant, however, we could not have dreamed for a better experience.
