We sold our house through Palmer Snell, Castle Lane from start to finish the team were excellent, very professional; Chantelle, Adam, Rebecca to name a few (sorry if I missed anyone).
Post offer, we worked with the Sales Progressor, Paula who was outstanding. From the start Paula kept in regular touch giving updates along the way. Communication was great.
Everything was going well and then just prior to exchange, our solicitors license was suspended by the Solicitors Regulatory Authority. Palmer Snell (thank you Adam!) found us a new solicitor.
We then found ourselves in an unprecedented situation. Paula worked tirelessly to have our file transferred from the law regulators nominated “caretaker” to our new solicitor (this was no small task; multiple calls, emails and constant follow up) and once transferred she went above and beyond, consistently communicating and following up with all the other solicitor’s involved and other estate agents to push our sale and purchase to completion for which we are very grateful. Paula was absolutely amazing! I miss our daily phone calls - she probably doesn’t :)

I cannot recommend Palmer Snell Castle Lane enough. I had the pleasure of dealing with Chantel, Paula, Adam and the rest of the sales team to sell my late sisters property. From the initial valuation up until completion, Chantel and the team have gone above and behind. The property was sold for a great price and very efficiently. We received regular updates throughout the transaction and even when things got a little tricky (no fault of Palmer Snell) the entire team where always there to help and make professional and logical suggestions.

I had a very poor experience with Palmer Snell Castle Lane West that I feel compelled to share. Over the course of two separate property purchases, the service was consistently unprofessional and concerning.
After our first offer was accepted, we waited three months for the sales memorandum to be sent, despite multiple follow-up calls. We later discovered this delay was because our original agent had transferred branches without informing anyone involved in our transaction. When the survey revealed significant structural issues, including an unsound chimney, the new agent Adam dismissed some of the concerns and pressured us to proceed with the purchase.
We ultimately walked away from the sale.
We then proceeded with another property through Adam, described as extensively renovated. When the survey identified issues requiring immediate roof replacement, we requested evidence of the renovation quality before proceeding - a reasonable request given our previous experience. The agent was resistant to providing this documentation without us first committing to instructing solicitors.
Most concerning was Adam’s attempt to downplay the roof replacement cost, claiming it would be around £8,000 when multiple contractors quoted £12,000-£15,000. This appeared to be an attempt to minimize the vendor’s liability and push us toward completion.
When we decided to withdraw from this second purchase, Adam’s response was completely unprofessional - he abruptly hung up the phone on me mid-conversation.
This experience demonstrated a pattern of poor communication, pressure tactics, and unprofessional behavior. Rather than supporting informed decision-making, we felt pushed toward purchases without proper due diligence. I would not recommend Palmer Snell Castle Lane West based on this experience.????????????????

However they were uber professional and very communicative throughout the whole process. Feels like exactly what Panorama exposed
After watching a recent Panorama episode about estate agent practices, we couldn’t help but notice strong similarities to our own experience.
My partner and I were trying to buy a property on Castle Lane. We already had a mortgage agreed through a reputable broker, but when we tried to make an offer, we were told it wouldn’t even be considered unless we spoke to their in-house mortgage adviser. This felt unnecessary and quite forceful.
Even though we were ready to proceed, my partner was told he had to come into the branch in person to “make the offer” and bring ID. But once there, instead of simply verifying details, he was unexpectedly placed in a mortgage appointment he hadn’t agreed to. The whole setup felt engineered to push us towards using their services.
It gave the impression that the process was more about securing commission than helping us buy the home. We left feeling misled and frustrated. Based on our experience, I wouldn’t feel comfortable buying or selling through them.

Helpful but extremely pushy! All they seem to want is for you to book in with their mortgage advisors even when you have said no multiple times.
Very nice and friendly until I said I don’t need there services as I have found a property then the conversation was very short and hung up without saying goodbye and ending the phone call. Very unprofessional, typical salesman with ‘ an offer than has just come out today that will save me money ‘

My experience was mixed with PS. We felt like we had to chase a lot in the early days and had mixed feelings when we went back on the market (as our chain had fallen apart) with the marketing strategy we were persuaded to try. However, when we got to the end and Paula Barnes was assigned to us then we were very happy with the service. Paula checked in regularly and called or emailed when she said she would. Viewed a house we really liked, and the agent encouraged us to put in an offer, telling us we were in a strong position—even though there was already another offer on the table. We took time off work to go through their finance checks and speak to their mortgage advisers, only for them to completely ghost us afterwards. It’s clear they used us to drive up the other offer. Anastasia Ricketts handled this incredibly unprofessionally. Don’t sell your house through this agency—they don’t have your best interests at heart. Our offer was higher than what the house ended up selling for!

Very low level of customer service, my sale completed at 12.30 it took palmer snell 2.5 hours to ring me an inform me of this, not impressed with the attitude little to no interaction throughout the sale I would not recommend to anyone, if you find a property with them ask the vendor to put it on the market with another agent and you might get somewhere.

Where to begin ... I had my property on the market with PB for 3 months, in that time I had 2 viewings. one day I get a hand written letter from Adam at Palmer Snell trying to get my business, I called Adam straight away and secured a package that worked for both of us. Before my property even went live with them, I had Shahob and Anastasia calling everyone they could think of and subsequently arranged 4 viewings within 2 days, one of which resulted in an offer today. It is still early days, but I have every confidence in the staff here that this will go through, or if it doesn't, then I know they will find someone else very quick. I wish I went here in the first place, they have been incredible from the start! I am soooooo grateful for that little hand written note through my door! Thank you all :)

Poor experience! I had viewed a house which I was very interested in, unfortunately the estate agent wasn’t knowledgeable on the property and didn’t attempt to show us around. Myself and my partner were still keen on the property itself and put an offer in, we were then told there were a few others interested and to provide “best and final”. After providing a new offer, estate agents explained they would ring tomorrow if our offer was accepted. However we had to visit the estate agents to photocopy our IDs (a step which I knew could have been done over email) but pushed us and said our offer would be void if we didn’t attend. When we arrived at the estate agents, we were told to sit down with a mortgage advisor who asked us our deposit amounts, salary etc to try and sell mortgage products. He then followed up by asking us to email him our IDs- which could have been done without visiting the estate agents. The whole process was poor, and all they wanted was sales and to get us to buy “extras”. An hour after leaving the office, the estate agents told us we didn’t get the property as the other buyers ‘made more of an impression on the seller’. Very unprofessional and wasted our time for sales. I have been put off viewing houses listed with this estate agents.

I had my house on with another agent who was unfortunately unable to sell my property, out of the blue Alanna knocked on my door claiming she thought she had the perfect buyer potentially lined up, I have heard this before and to start with didn’t believe it however I had nothing to loose……. 2 weeks later my property was sold …… she was professional and polite and kept me informed all the way !!!!! We had our house up for sale just before Covid with Palmer Snell and another company, but Palmer Snell got us far more viewings. We had to take it down due to Covid. 2 years on, we decided Palmer Snell was the one to try again with. Thank goodness we did! Chantel is a god send!! She has been there since the beginning for anything we may need and has been professional and prompt throughout. Had plenty of viewings from the off, and sold in just under 2 weeks! They smashed it! Would not hesitate to work with Palmer Snell Castle Lane again, especially Chantel! Terrible estate agents. So unhelpful and genuinely felt like they didn't care.
Viewed a property and showed alot of interest, made a call to make a 2nd viewing the day after was told I'd get a call back from Amelia and never heard. Sent an email that same evening asking some questions, still have never had a response to that. Eventually got the 2nd viewing booked and then when it came to the day I rang to confirm to be told it hadn't been confirmed with the vendor and that they would let us know when we could get booked in. Left it a few days and as hadn't heard asked my partner to call up as I was fed up of getting nowhere, to be told that it's been sold. Such a shame that the service wasnt what it should have been and don't want to deal with Palmer Snell again.

After signing on with a local independent agent who had no time for late appointments, phone calls, or follow ups I gave these guys a go as Tom was my second choice. Knowing they work late and had an in house progress chaser, I decided it was worth the extra £600 in order to sell during the stamp duty holiday. Buyers came and went, solicitors were painfully slow and panic up and down the line set in for timely completion. Sadly though once a sale was agreed their once a week progress chase was not enough. Yes it was mayhem during a pandemic though Adam was hopeless and made things up and Tom was too busy. Kelsey however was the unsung hero, even though it wasn't her job, she thankfully took the reigns, so gets five stars. I probably drove her mad but she diligently bent over backwards to help my inexperienced buyer with a cheap as chips cowboy solicitor push things through. She went above and beyond to the point of ringing round on her days off. So well done Kelsey, you brought up the stars for this branch...all on your own.

Amelia at Palmer Snell, Bournemouth was very professional in the sale of my house in tricky circumstances. Whilst conducting viewings I found her to have impressive local knowledge and advice of home improvements carried out in similar properties. I was very impressed by her professional and also empathetic attitude. I met Matt also who took the time to visit and advise a viewing had been cancelled. A low offer was received and Adam worked hard to increase the offer and the sale progressed to completion in nine weeks. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Rude, arrogant and unprofessional. The manager Adam Sarsons and his lacky Tom have been marketing the property below mine and decided rather than using photographs of the garden belonging to that flat they would use photos of my garden instead. Misleading and a misrepresentation of the property they are trying to sell. When approached regading this they were rude, dismissive, arrogant, they lied and wrote a false statement to cover their own backs. Their area complaints manager made sure the photographs were removed after the manager lied serveral times and said it had already been done. They have now put a video of my garden up. Typical representation of all that gives estate agents a bad name! Avoid like the plague! Infact avoid like Covid!

Did you know that if you use Palmer Snell then on a viewing they can break things in your property, not tell you and then when you come home to discover it they can deny all knowledge?! Not only that but the manager will not only dismiss it but will aggressively try to take offence when you state you have been utterly let down by Palmer Snell. You can then raise a complaint where the so called investigator will not actually check the photos their own company took to prove you're telling the truth. What an utter shambolic and deceitful company. You have been warned!

I trusted Palmer Snell with selling my property. On one of the viewings, without me being present as I had given them my key, breakages took place. This included cracking 2 tiles on my bathroom floor. A tumbler was also cracked so it was quite obvious this had been dropped on the floor. It doesn't take a brain of Britain to know it was Palmer Snell or somebody they were showing round. Adam Sarson came on the phone today and gave me a load of attitude and denied it was anything to do with Palmer Snell. I'm disgusted and will be taking this matter further! I would thoroughly advise anyone to give Palmer Snell a very wide berth!!

Diabolical. I am divorced and my ex wife still lives in the house. They put it on the market without a joint contract in place and when I told them to take it off the market the manager refused to do so. Would never recommend them

Decided to use Palmer Snell after communications with Adam. Adam was fantastic with making the selling process very easy and was honest with costs etc. The viewing process was easy- a text confirmed the viewing detsils. The property sold within 48 hours and negotiation of prices was professional and fair. The right move listing and the photos/video tour was professional and top quality.
Did not think I would be in a position to buy another property but decided to go and see their mortgage advisor- Gavin. Went in thinking I will not get a mortgage and came away with more than I ever imagined. Gavin was fantastic- he looked at every bit of my incoming and outgoing to work out the best deal. I have bought a property that I never imagined possible. Where there was additional evidence required and a few hurdles along the way, Gavin just made it ok. He dealt with all the stressful bits but was so honest with every aspect of the mortgage application.
I felt everyone in the office was genuinely interested in the sale and cared. If I left a message they would always call back.
There was a few issues with solicitors and delays as per normal, however their sales progressor Kerry was exceptional- she liased with everyone, there was times when I needed to vent, get annoyed and have a moan- I felt she listened and went above and beyond to help- I know she done so much more than her role expected of her. Without doubt if the sales care was not there I know the sale would not have gone through. She is approachable, kind hearted but very determined to get answers from solicitors who never even called me back!!
Would I recommend Palmer Snell.... 100%
Thank you ALL for making one of the most stressful times in someone's life... a little bit easier..xx

tried to register my details. the guy spent more time trying to push me for a mortgage that i already have rather than actually telling me about properties. i thought estate agents were suppose to deal with houses?

We would like to thank all the staff at this branch, who made a very complicated move simple and quick. Everyone at the branch was always professional, knowledgeable and efficient, but most of all genuinely helpful and caring. If we ever move again we would not hesitate in using this team again!
