We rented from Parkers for roughly 2.5 years in Totton. If we'd not have moved to Wales to purchase our first home we would have happily stayed tenants with Parkers. Richard, Oliver, and Katherine offer a straightforward service to tenants and landlords that provides people with comfortable, safe, and reliable homes. I'd rented all my adult life, my parents rented, as does my sibling - I can hand on heart say I've never come across another estate agent I would recommend, but I would completely recommend Parkers. Sorry to be leaving!

Sadly a frustrating experience renting with these. We were moved to them following the closure of our previous letting agency, and the difference was stark and not in a good way;
- from poor communication (ignored emails & constantly having to chase for updates on ourstanding issues!);
- ignored or slow to resolve maintenance issues (at the end of our tenancy, we still had 2 open issues 4 months after reporting them through their online system, with no acknowledgement it was in hand);
- and no proactivity without you first initiating contact (tenancy renewals, gas inspections etc which you'd expect to be handled in plenty of time)
And that's just scratching the surface of the issues we had without going into great detail ...
Edit; just in reply to Parkers response, in regards end of tenancy delays I mentioned, I don't mean the damages. We knew that, we expected that. We have kids. That isnt what i refer to. When I report a maintenance issue (or 3) in April, I don't expect them to still be an issue at the end of our tenancy 5 months later. If that's considered acceptable, then I'm speechless. Lucky some of your other customers then, if they've had a good experience, because we sadly didn't. And that was throughout our tenancy, and not just end of tenancy issues.

Parkers Lettings has provided one of the best experiences I have had with a letting agency. Very easy to talk to and easy to report maintenance issues, which get taken seriously. After renting from Parkers for 3-4 years, I would have rented from them for a much longer time if it wasn't for external factors out of the control of myself or the business. Overall, our experience as tenants with Parkers lettings was positive. Viewing was arranged promptly, contracts were signed electronically which was very handy.
Their online fault reporting service is great and you can even upload pictures of the issue.
The only reason I am not going to leave a 5 star review is that we left the property with unresolved leak from upstairs bathroom, broken fence post and a couple of minor other issues.
I can only assume that the owner of the property was not willing to pay for necessary repairs. However, an update message to say so would have been appreciated.

Very unprofessional. Do not follow confidentiality. Shared information about myself with my ex partner . They made mistakes and didn’t notice when he didn’t pay his rent and then told me countless lies about him paying half of it so I’d pay the other half . This was found not to be true . Would never ever use again and have since heard horror stories about them !

well this is the worst customer service i have ever received? we had booked a viewing for this Saturday and were advised we could not put an offer in before viewing the property. which we accepted however when calling to confirm our appointment i got a response of "oh yes i was going to call you we need to cancel this appointment." "I asked why" and the response was because there has already been an offer excepted ? sorry you advised were not able to put an offer in? His response was so Rude - "Not that we have to explain it to you. do you want to view the other property or not?" NOT Thank you

I have only positive things to say about Parkers. When I needed to find a place at short notice they were helpful friendly and understanding of my circumstances. Any issues with the property from a maintenance perspective was dealt with promptly and efficiently. When I needed to vacate the premises early due to a huge change in my circumstances beyond my control, Richard spoke to the landlord on my behalf and arranged for my release from the contract. I feel that I have been dealt with in not only a truly professional manner, but also with compassion and understanding. This is a rare thing in this day and age.

My family were due to move into a property today. We were told yesterday that the owner had issues regarding whether or not we could afford the place we were renting and therefore was withdrawing his offer. This was after our references had been checked and accepted - we know what our income is and this property was easily affordable for us.
Admittedly we had an issue with the contract we were sent - we wanted to change the rent payment day to the end of the month rather than the middle. After emails and phone calls to the agents we had no response until yesterday. I finally had an answer when I called Kelly who told me there was nothing they could do about the contract (didn’t even try to help us to resolve the problem) so my partner and I were understandably frustrated - we were due to move into the property the next day. Kelly overheard my partner (in the back ground not directly speaking to her) who was upset, she swore down the phone at me and spoke to me in a patronising manner - “I won’t have him speak to me or you like that” - We too have a recording of this phone call Richard. Yes my partner was in distress - he has autism and when there isn’t a professional straightforward structure in place he has a melt down, no he wasn’t speaking directly to Kelly, but she felt the need to stop her phone call with me and comment on my partner, which was not helping the situation. Perhaps some staff training in public mental health wouldn’t go a miss.
I messaged the owner of the property who advised us it would not be an issue if we were to pay rent early - drama solved. We were happy to sign the contract.
An hour later I get a phone call from Richard - the owner of the property wants to withdraw.
We have a child, we long ago gave notice on our current property. All of our belongings are in storage ready to be moved. We’ve lost money through taking time off of work, cancelling van hire at the last minute, and cancelling appliances due to arrive at the property. This has been severely detrimental to all of our physical and mental health. I still have not received my holding deposit back which was promised by Richard yesterday morning.

Selective with the facts? What have a I missed out?Richard we were not going to pay over a grand in deposit when we were not happy with the contract - something we tried and failed to sort out with yourselves. “I am not signing the contract” is hardly abusive, but what is abusive is being sworn at and spoken to in a patronising manner by Kelly. Thank you for your suggestion to take it up with a regulatory body. I will be doing just that.

I’ve rented from Parkers lettings for the last 2 1/2 years in that time I found them to be professional and quick to respond to any issues that may have arisen, a good example of this is when my shower broke in lockdown and they still managed to get somebody there the day after I reported the fault!
I would particularly like to mention Ollie and Kelly, I always found them Pleasant and helpful whenever I had to ring into the office.

To be honest, not great. In some areas okay but some not so good. For about a month we had a smashed shower panel, emailed twice to get it fixed this did not happen and was in the same state when we left the property. Some members of staff are relatively helpful and other come across rude. Had absolutely no help during the COVID-19 myself and partner where out of work, prof was given to show being out of work and we were still expected to pay if we didn’t give over 3 months of our banks statements which I was uncomfortable with, this resulted them taking money from our deposit. The property we were living in was very damp which effected my health, therefore emailed and called to talk about it and get early release, this I had to fight hard for after they called me to ask why, even though it was stated in the many emails sent. Once we got early release we were expected to leave in two weeks, to which I said no we will leave once we found somewhere. At end of tenancy we expected our deposit back (what was left of it) but find that a further £35 will be taken due to belongings being left there which are in fact not ours and were already there when we moved in. Parkers calmed that the agent did not see them even though they are not small objects. I do understand that maybe I should have put this on the inventory at the start of tenancy but then at the same time the agent should have looked at and around the property probably and noted them in the first place, do you agree. If we had help though all of what I have stated them there would be more stars but unfortunately there isn’t. I felt we were an easy target as we are a young couple. Did not feel valued at all. It’s a shame really.

Went for a viewing today , when we turned up we were around 2 minutes early but the agent was in his car driving away. Although he did turn around it was clear he didn't want to rent to me and my partner from the start. Think it's because we're fairly young. Got a call back 40 minutes later from another guy stating the couple who viewed before us had taken it. Which is fair enough but from there he was very quick to get me off the phone. Said the other couple "we're literally parked up at the door waiting for to take it off the market " well that's funny because the office closes at 12 on a Saturday. I then asked about another flat from then that we had seen. We were quickly shut down and were told the flat was the size of a living room. Doesn't sound right to me. We were told to email if we want another viewing , we were completely disregarded by the company they couldn't have made that more clear if they wanted too.Customer .lost We're 2 full time workers and neither of us exactly sit on minium wage, we would have been perfect Tennant's you wouldve had no issues with us. Isn’t it funny how when you read through these reviews, you can tell that Richard always seems to respond rudely for the negative ones? effectively backing up what these people are saying about him. Publicly calling a women 2 years ago a ‘disgrace’ is so demoralising, similar to calling a women and her partner the most spiteful and aggressive people.. When clearly reading their response this is not the case. Similarly, the way in which you responded to Mr Landa, and Mr Osborne publicly announcing their wrong doings which is not effective customer service. I would now urge for you to upload the back up evidence regarding the women being a disgrace and the couple being aggressive because as an outsider and a reviewer on google, I do not see this. I just see your rude attitude to all these customers.
But as for mentioned, it’s no wonder you get such negative reviews when you treat customers the way in which you have done. There is no empathy, no apology and no understanding. Companies such as yourself should simply not be in business.

Wow the responses to the one star reveiws are completely shocking! They also breach data protection. When a customer leaves a 1 star reveiws you are supposed to work with them to fix the issue then ask them to change the stars given. I reccomend looking at other professional letting to see how it's done. I have chosen not to use your service based on this fact.
If anyone is reading this go look at all the one star and two star reveiws responses from this letting company.

I have had the worst experience of my life with Richard from trying to charge excessive amounts for such minor things! To harrasing us during the birth of my daughter! i even called him to discuss emailing a complaint and he provides me an invalid email address and hangs up on me! It is disgusting how me and my partner have been treated.

I can’t recommend Richard and his team enough I’ve had my property rented out with them for over twelve years whilst I’ve been over seas with out any problems
I found the communication fantastic letting me know of any maintenance issues property inspections and change of tenants etc
And to top it all when I decided to sell the property they handled it from start to finish informing the tenants advertising showing the property and looking after it when it was empty until the exchange
If your thinking of using an agent to rent out your property I would definitely recommend talking to Richard Parker and his team

served a notice on the wrong address , even when i shouted they had done so , man in silver q3? legged it . when i phoned the office to inform them the manager had a nonchalant response . didn’t seem to care that he had scared an innocent family and also clearly breached data protection with sharing peoples personal data . in my opinion not professional at all . considering they managed the property they didn’t even know where it was . didn’t collect personal information just asked me to destroy ! not within the date rules ! as i said unprofessional !

As long as nothing goes wrong, it's fine, if there are issues then the response is not as good. We had maintenance people out to fix a leaking roof three times and it still leaked. Still waiting to get any deposit back from the landlord, tenancy ended three weeks ago. It's the landlord's responsibility but as we do not know them, Parkers should facilitate.

Called to book a viewing for a rental property, when i eventually got through i booked a viewing for a house 24 hours in advance. The next day we turned up and the estate agent, named oliver, forgot the key to the property, the tenants weren't in so he had to drive back to the office to get the key, 10 minutes later i got a phone call saying that the contractor had the key and he couldn't get hold of him, would i like to reschedule the viewing for tomorrow.. my partner was going away that night and we wanted to see the house before he went as we knew it would be snapped up. The next day i find out the house has been let, no-one even bothered to phone me and let me know, i just happened to find out as i phoned them to change the viewing time. IF the estate agent was organised and made sure he had a key then we could of put a deposit down on this property, we are really not happy. Not even an apology recieved.

Request a viewing online, no one gets back to you. Phone the office and you get answer phone, before you know it the house you want to is let. Avoid.
Edit. Might be open those times but the phone isn't manned, doesn't explain lack of response to Web enquiries either.

Good to start but after the tenancy ended, Parkers do not exist in anything, no confirmation of the get out completed that I paid for! Sorry that it did not work out as parkers did seem brilliant at the start!

The property manager (Kelly) had inspected the hallway work that was carried out previously and was satisfied with the job that had been done! Unfortunately as previously stated the tenancy was broken when the owner of Parkers handed a house key over to a stranger with the landlords permission and not the tenants! Please refrain from any comment about us leaving the property as Parkers have not been involved in this leaving us to deal directly with the landlord, Parkers clearly did not want to finish the job they were paid for!
