We had a very disappointing experience with this estate agency. One of their agents showed us a property, and we later had our offer accepted — only to find out months later that the property was actually owned by that same agent, something we were never made aware of at the time.
After waiting over 7 months and being on the verge of completion, the seller (who, again, worked for the agency) decided to pull out and move into the property herself. This caused us significant stress, expense, and wasted time.
When I raised my concerns with the manager, Paul, he was extremely patronising and dismissive. I explained that a family member who runs a successful estate agency said the situation was highly unprofessional, but Paul insisted she was wrong and spoke to me in a very rude manner.
Overall, the entire experience felt unethical and poorly handled. I would strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with this agency.

The team were very helpful throughout the process and always willing to answer any queries I had or provide advice and recommendations such as a local surveyor and mortgage adviser.
Karin was particularly helpful; whether it was directing me to complete admin in a timely manner or answer any last minute questions I had, she was always willing to talk, never got flustered or frustrated with my lack of knowledge and was a relaxing presence through the stress of buying a house.

Polite, friendly staff. Named agent who was our person on the case - always returned calls promptly if they were busy when I called. Good, efficient service.
They have a dedicated person to help push things through with solicitors which really helped, and they have local solicitors with whom they have a good relationship that
you can use and that helps speed things along.
In general:
I learnt that these days, estate agents come having done an internet search to determine the value of your home - that seems to remain even when unknown extra features are divulged, so don't suppose your loft conversion or your solar panels are making your property vastly better than others.
Thanks to the market changes, I sold for way lower than the initial valuation but as friends of mine advised me - the value of a house is dependent on what people are prepared to pay for it. If houses like yours are ten-a-penny you won't be able to keep a high asking price; if the market crashes or interest rates go up, people don't make the offers you dream of. I also think that an agent calculates the commission they will receive on the first (for example) 300k, if they say to you you'll get near 400K, that's just a bonus for them; when the house doesn't sell for months and months they start pushing you to accept lower offers because they are still advertising the house and showing people round, but they are not getting their money yet.
I found it odd that it was quite clear they did not want me showing people round or even being there (they said if I was in when they appeared with a viewer they would give me time to leave!), and as it was an empty property with a neighbour's car in the garage I was asked 'when is that going' as if it was their house. They looked put-out when I said 'when the house is sold'.
They did give good advice on how to present the house - it being vacant it was important to leave some furniture to give an idea of space - people will wonder if their sofa or bed would fit in a room for example.
They know the area and the market and help guide you through (even if there is a hint of sometimes forgetting whose house it is) and I would recommend them.

It is now 3 months since we moved to Romsey after a moving process that took almost a year. Our first viewing of our house was cancelled as an offer had been received on the property. We were advised that if the situation changed we would be contacted. However it was only after we contacted Pearsons twice more to query why the property still appeared for sale on Rightmove that we were told the first offer had been withdrawn and we should have been advised accordingly. Pearsons apologised and we finally obtained a viewing. Later we arranged a second viewing and arrived at the property at the time stated in an email to us. However, someone at Pearsons had written the incorrect time in the office diary and when we phoned them to ask if they were on their way, they apologised once again and hastily sent out Karin Walters, their Sales Progressor to undertake the viewing.
We can truthfully say that for us, Karin is the jewel in the crown at Pearsons. Without her continuous encouragement, ability to listen patiently to all our frustrations and sort out the many complex issues that arose throughout the process we would not be in this property now. We love Romsey and the house so a huge thank you to you Karin for all your tremendous hard work.

Excellent service. I had put an offer in on a house in Winchester which couldn't be accepted until I had a buyer for my own house. Ed was brilliant and got my house online very quickly and arranged a block of viewings for the following Saturday. By Monday I had three offers and within a couple of days a sale was agreed and I'd secured the house I wanted to buy. The answer is Pearsons. Now what was your question?

Great Service from Ed in Sales and especially Karin in after sales on a protracted purchase where Pearsons represneteed the sellers. Excellent balanced communications. We didn't sell through Pearsons but if we are ever mad enough to move again we would use Pearsons.

It was an absolute pleasure working with the team at Pearsons in Romsey for the sale of our house in the New Forest. We worked closely with Paul and Karin who were our main interfaces to progress our sale and nothing was too much trouble. Selling a house is always a challenge and having professionals like Paul & Karin to provide guidance and assistance absolutely helped a huge amount. We had used Pearsons Denmead before and that was a great experience as well. Would I use and recommend Pearsons again? You bet I would!!!
