Originally met with Victoria (and with 3 other companies) to market a property. Went initially with one of the others as they were cheaper. False economy. 3 months with a local rival and absolutely NO viewings.
Recontacted Victoria after that contract ended, she suggested a few tweaks (bit of clearing out etc.) and we signed a contract with
Peter Alan. Photos much more impressive and had an offer that was close to the asking price within days.
Kelly was the office contact and if she wasn’t available to take a call contacted me back almost immediately.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Peter Alan based on my experiences with Victoria and Kelly.

We have been renting a property from Peter Alan for almost a year, once we were informed our rent will be increasing we decided to buy a property.
Since handing our notice in we’ve had nothing but bother, we were always the one chasing for a response. No one contacted us first to notify us what was happening, they then wouldn’t even give 24 hours notice before retaking photos which we had to put our foot down on.
I’ve got to say the communication has been absolutely appalling.
The beginning of the tenancy was great Shauna was brilliant but on leaving it’s been a nightmare.

Disappointing experience with Peter Alan Bridgend lettings. Viewings booked and then cancelled without a message, I would've been stood up after a substantial drive if I didn't call to confirm on the day. Felt like I had to chase things up a lot and was constantly told I'd be called back, which never happened. Second viewing - staff wasn't particularly knowledgeable about the property or area, was told I'd get a call to discuss making an offer which never happened. Overall, I felt the experience was made more stressful and more difficult than necessary. Have not had this experience with other lettings agents in the Connells group.

If I could rate Peter Alan 0 I would.
I’ve had nothing but hell with this estate agents from the day I moved into the property. Firstly I got told that the property had been cleaned before I moved in and on the day I moved in, there was urine in the toilet, 3 dead spiders on the carpet, marks and scuffs on the floor and walls and thick dust everywhere. Not the end of the world as this can easily be cleaned and the landlord gave me £200 towards the painting materials which I did the labour myself.
The estate agents have communicated so poorly between the landlord and myself the landlord of the property has also moved estate agents to list the property. The estate agents lied about my itinerary and attempted to detect money from my bond by not cross checking the before I entered the property and after I left. Luckily the landlord gave me my deposit back in full. I moved out of the property on the 1st October and today is the 21st and I still haven’t received my £995.00. It’s pretty appalling and as I’m not sure how Peter Alan think people have the affordability to have another £995 to put towards another property. Fortunately for myself I’ve had help however other families may not be so fortunate. Peter Alan told me that it takes 10 days to release the bond so please check before you rent with them as you won’t have the money to put towards another property.

To say myself & my boyfriend had a rocky start to our renting life is an understatement but from the very moment we met Shauna at our very first meeting so made us feel so relaxed boosted our confidence in this journey. The first house we viewed, we fell in complete love with it, but unfortunately it wasn't to be. I must say that Shauna kept us up to date with everything that was going on. She explained everything to us in great detail also. As time was getting on we weren't having much luck in finding a place that we loved until we found the home we are currently in. Myself & Shauna gel'd so much. She just knew what I'd love & what I didn't like. On our second viewing of a property Shauna knew that the property just wasn't for me but she stuck by us & kept looking for our home. We finally found a home that was in our price range & in our area range also. Shauna once again met us at the house & showed us around. Which again she knew instantly that I loved it! Shauna was so excited for us & it was so lovely to see. Couple hours after filling out the relevant forms at the property, Shauna called me to tell me the house was ours. During the vetting process a few problems popped up which sent me into complete meltdown mode which then led me to a gentleman called Luke who was just as amazing as Shauna was with us. Luke stayed calm when I was melting down & made sure he done absolutely everything he could to get the problem sorted & it wasn't too long after that, that we got the phone call that we could go & collect the keys. We signed for out keys on 22nd March, with Shauna & Luke there by our sides absolutely buzzing for us that we finally had our home. I can never thank them enough for all that they done for us. Josh included. We are super grateful to you all at Peter Alan. You have the best team ????

I was absolutely shocked at the lack of preparation displayed at a recent Lettings valuation.
Having previously worked for the company, I gave them the opportunity to value a property of mine I had every intention of renting through them.
The “manager” Luke turned up with no comparable properties, no valuation pack explaining their services and no take on form.
All things I was taught to be essential on a valuation.
Previous to the valuation he had no idea I had worked there so there’s no excuse for not bringing reading materials for myself explaining their services.
Safe to say I got another agent out and they came prepared and it’s being put on the market this week.

Once they have you on their books that's where their interest ends, 5 months of nothing, zero communication within their office either, nobody seems to know what is going on. Do yourselves a favour and go with an independent. Awful experience the only thing they did for us was devalue our property by £10k

I was in the process of purchasing a house through Peter Alan (Bridgend) that unfortunately fell through due to personal circumstances. During the entire process, this estate agent was the most unprofessional out of everyone that my wife and I were dealing with during the chain (from our own agents, mortgage brokers, surveyors, and legal team).
Emails go unanswered and if Peter Alan do decide to reply, its short, one-line replies. You consistency must chase them for updates, just extremely poor communication.
Secondly there was a lot of pressure from them to use their mortgage brokers, legal team, or house surveying partners (All of whom were more expensive than getting my own) and the agent even going as far as telling me that the sellers of the house we had an offer on “Preferred to have a buyer that uses the same legal team (I.e. their inhouse one) as the sellers and if we did not go ahead then they would have to inform the sellers of that”. Just utter rubbish. Never in all my years of buying/Selling houses, have I quiet experienced the high pressure sell and lies, that comes from this agent. Fairly sure, they must tell us they get commission from selling services, which they did not.
I am still waiting for the agent to acknowledge and reply to my email saying unfortunately I must pull out of a sale. No “Sorry to hear” or “thanks for informing us”, just radio silence.
Unfortunately, we had no choice to use this agent as they were listing the house we wanted, and I am sure more inexperience buyers would have bowed down to the pressure selling of this agent. In short, avoid if you can, but if you must use, then be overly cautious of them.

If you're looking to buy 16 Austin Avenue, Bridgend, I am happy to share my survey/experience so that you don't waste your time to the tune of almost £600. I was the second buyer in six months who had attempted to purchase the property.
The survey highlighted a number of serious issues totalling around £20k worth of work. The seller was not interested in negotiation and pulled the house from the market citing sudden health issues, only to relist less than a month later.
Peter Alan Bridgend were totally useless. After having to get a different branch to chase them about whether my offer had been accepted or not, they then allowed the seller to lower the asking price after accepting my offer, and two days before issuing my Memo of Sale. I found this out via the internet, not the estate agent. They are supporting a seller who appears to have zero intention of legitimately selling the property.

It is like they pick and choose who they want to sell a house to. Every time I have had deal with them they have been very dismissive towards me. Twice the same house has come on the market and on both occasions I have never been able to view a property.
Firstly they didn’t want to take any more viewings and the second time only to be told I could only have a virtual viewing and then a face to face. Again very eager for a particular house as I advised them of this. I was told I would be called back to arrange the face to face.
No one called me back. When I called them I was told no viewings were taking place as they had had an offer from the virtual viewing.
I was never once told of this and advised everyone would have a chance to view the property hopefully on the same day.
I am absolutely disgusted. This is people’s lives and to be told sorry she is new is not acceptable.
I felt completely rushed through the pointless ‘virtual viewing’. Most good estate agents have this available to view on their websites or Zoopla, etc.
Not even a courtesy call back to advise me and give me a chance of an offer.
I hope to god the house we eventually buy is not being sold by Peter Alan Bridgend. They certainly don’t treat buyers very well.

He was thorough and showed me things that I wouldn’t have noticed myself which was helpful.
Very friendly and professional manner and COVID safe.
Unfortunately I wasn’t successful on this occasion in the rental property I wanted but hopeful they will help me in the future.
I have an assistance dog due to a disability and they were understanding of this and the fact he isn’t a pet, he is a medical aid.
I didn’t feel discriminated against for this as I have done with other local agents who have occasionally putting a blanket no on pets without listening to the reasoning of me having an animal in the first place, contrary to discrimination laws.

After viewing a property mid-afternoon on a Friday and confirming I’d like to proceed with an application there was nothing to much to ask for. Spoke to Alana this morning in regards to letting a property as we are moving back to the area from over 100 miles away. She couldn't have been anymore helpful and frankly made me feel like the whole process will be much easier than anticipated. I tried purchasing a house with them that fell through they didn't update me regularly and I found their service was extremely poor. I would never recommend them to anyone. They recommend their solicitors to speed things up and it had the opposite effect as I didn't hear anything for three months( they said they had posted some information but I never received it).

First time dealing with Peter Alan whilst selling my house. We were recommended to them by the builder of our new property along with another estate agent. Peter Alan were excellent with Amy Poolman standing out throughout the process.
We were unfortunate enough to have two buyers pull out of the house purchase but Amy and others were constantly searching for a new buyer to ensure the process didn't fall down.
Amy ensured that any issues from either side were rectified and was always on the end of the phone should you need any help or advise. Selling up and moving house is a stressful process and Amy excelled in terms of service and managed to keep a lid on the pressure that built throughout journey of selling our property.
Strongly recommend Peter Alan Bridgend, good people to do business with and would happily use them again.

delighted with peter alan. bought a property through them 18 months ago and subsequently rented it out with them as my letting agents.
the initial purchase was great with the team demonstrating a sound knowledge of the area. the letting department, both in cardiff and bridgend, have been really on the ball. excellent communication and pro-active management.
i am looking to sell a property soon and these guys will be my first call. have already spoken to jade and kate at the bridgend office and they are totally on the ball!

I've recently bought a property through Peter Alan in Bridgend and I just wanted to say how excellent the service was. As first time buyers initially we felt intimidated by the whole buying process particularly after the bad experience we had with Payton Jewell Caines on a viewing when we were first looking. I immediately felt at ease with meeting Jade on a viewing it seemed as if she couldn't do enough for us and completely explained the whole buying process for us and made us excited about our search again. Within 10 minutes we had an appointment with the mortgage advisor Matt who was fantastic and a couple of days later we found our dream house. We decided to use Peter Alan's recommended solicitor and are so thankful we did as we moved in within 6 weeks! Special thanks to Amy for holding our hands throughout the process especially when we had a slight issue with a survey. Thanks again to everyone in the office, people are always quick to complain but never praise when the job is done well! We will definitely recommend to family and friends!

Where do you start. The only words that come to mind are organised chaos and cowboys.
The process of purchasing our house was made very very difficult for no reason other than poor administration. From the start we were informed that we had to use Peter Alan conveyancing to secure our dream house but were not told that it would cost us £2000 in fees. Don't be fooled by their in-house searches which apparently is much faster than using a local solicitor. These searches cost us £350 paid directly to them on the day the offer was submitted and this was necessary to stop anyone else viewing the house. These searches are simply Environmental searches which anyone can apply for at groundsure.
We were allocated a solicitor in Barry which was useless being based in Bridgend.
Peter Alan conveyancing acting as the middle man simply caused nothing but problems and slowed the process down considerably.
The staff at Peter Alan have their fingers in every pie going. They made the sellers take out a Japanese knotweed management plan through someone they recommended and provided an electrician to change a fuse board which turned out to be illegal and incorrectly installed as per the current regulations.
The company is just a big joke and I plan to run the next time I have any involvement with them.

Peter Alan have been outstanding in my dealings with them regarding letting my property.
From start to finish they have worked tirelessly with advertising, viewings, advice, updates, communication and most importantly finding a tenant suited to my property in a very short space of time.
Plus Ryan and Alarna have been skilful, patient and courteous at all times.
I must repeat the communication is great and as a Landlady, I think that is important to be kept up to speed at all times, and Peter Alan did that!

Had a valuation booked for 16.30 on saturday and it was a no show! Sat there waiting for an agent to arrive to my property and after not receiving any call to say they were running late etc I called the office which ofcourse by 17.15 was closed! It's not as if I wasn't on the system as I had received text messages reminding me of our booking in for valuation on my property. Totally unproffessional and for whatever reason no one showed, your customer should have been notified! Not a good start at all and for that reason I will not use Peter Alan to sell my property. Not reliable, not organised and lost trust in the company completely. Wasting my time!

I've worked n property for quite some time now and I can say with some certainty they are by far one of the best agents around.
