Peter Alan were friendly and supportive and communicated well. My house sold fairly quickly and scheduling viewings were easy. However, the price was higher than other agents, and they work at a baseline so it doesn’t matter how much you drop the sale of your house by, they will take the same commission. Within less than two weeks of being on the market they wanted me to drop the price.

If you're a landlord, I strongly advise against partnering with this branch. My experience has been nothing but frustrating:
Delayed Deposit: It took over six weeks to receive my tenant's deposit. I had to email the accounts team multiple times before even getting a response.
Billing Issues: I was promised a specific price in writing, but later received legal letters claiming I owed money. To avoid court action, I had to pay – even though Peter Alan actually owed me money.
Ongoing Chase: After getting Victoria, the estate agent, involved, they admitted the error and confirmed that Peter Alan owes me. However, six months later, I’m still chasing the money with zero communication from the branch.
Not only does the accounts team struggle to respond to emails, neither does the estate agent Victoria or the branch manager when escalating the complaint. The place is run so poorly it's shocking. A paying customer shouldn't have to email 3 times over the course of two weeks to receive a response.
The level of service has been an eye opener. I have multiple properties across South Wales and never received a service so bad from an estate agents.

They were awful and wouldn't talk to us. When they did they would argue with us. We had one viewing in 6 months. Also, after we told them we were thinking of changing agent they would book an appointment in for 3 weeks in the future and then cancel the day before. This happened 3 times before we left them.

From the initial valuation by Jen, which was well researched, knowledgeable and pleasantly optimistic; to Sydney’s viewings, where she came round in advance to ensure she knew the property thoroughly and could answer any potential buyers questions, & was always pleasant, polite, and friendly; and finally Denise who communicated with us and the entire (very long) chain, to make sure we got over the line in time; the service has been impeccable!
Not only did they get us a fantastic sale price, but they managed every part of the tricky sale perfectly.
Obviously other agents are available, but save yourself some time and call these guys first!

After unsuccessfully using a different (cheaper) local agent we decided to try Peter Alan in Barry. Yes they’re more expensive but we instantly discovered why with the professionalism that they produced and marketed our property details. Branch manager Rachel and her team were superb and within 48 hours we had viewings booked and a sale agreed in the first week. We can not thank them enough, just wished we hadn’t spent so much time trying to save on fees. Especially as they got us a bit more than we expected.

Recommended that we use Connell surveyors for a report on a property we were buying through Peter Alan. The report was completely incompetently done, and Connell’s lied in the emails after we complained. We now have to choose between expensive repairs to the property or taking Peter Alan’s recommended surveyors to court.

We specifically asked for a for sale sign not to be put up and they did anyway. It took 6 days from them to come and remove it! The handling of the sale was then passed to a different site who never seemed fully up to speed with what going on. Our solicitor also said they were frustrating to deal with.
We noticed that the photos we HAD to pay to advertise the purchase of our house, were then reused to allow the person who bought the house to advertise the property as a rental. This was done with our personal belongings in the photos and without our permission! When questioned, the photos were immediately taken down, however this shouldn’t have happened in the first place as is a breech of GDPR.
We paid a premium price but certainly did not get a premium service.

Amazing service from every member of the team at the Barry branch.
Given these trying times through lockdown after lockdown, the service I have received has been second to none and not impacted at all.
Constant updates and always a friendly voice at the other end of the line goes a long way in making stressful times a lot easier.
Also have to mention the first class in-house mortgage broker, Georgina, who has provided an amazing "cradle to grave" service throughout the whole application.

Great experience dealing with the Barry branch! Everything was organised ready for when we wanted to go live, as soon as we gave the go ahead the house was on by the end of the day. The ladies keep me informed of all virtual and in person viewings and grouped them together to save disruption to us during lockdown. After the viewings were done they negotiated before coming back to us and we were thrilled when they came back to us with 4 offers, all of which were vetted well before being put to us. Dealt with Shirley for viewings, she was very attentive to our requirements and from our very first meeting, the team at Peter Alan took our details and contacted when a suitable property came to market.
We found a property with another company but were so impressed with the branch we went with the in house mortgage advisor, Georgina Butler.
Georgina could not have been more helpful.
She was always available via email or phone contact. She would take the time to describe and go into detail anything we were unsure of, and through her we found a fantastic deal that we were both very happy with.
All in all extremely happy with the package of service we recieved at Peter Alan in Barry, would definitely recommend.

The team at Peter Alan are fantastic. Last year, I sold two houses and bought another, using their services throughout, including the financial services advice and conveyancing. Both houses had offer made after the open day, and the purchase went through with no problems. All achieved in 8 months, which exceeded my expectations. Their fees were not the cheapest, but they earned them - the quick sales and good prices were very important to me. The staff at Peter Alan and their solicitors are friendly, but professional and it was a great relief to know that I had them guiding me through the process. Highly recommended.

I have used Peter Alan Sales to sell quite a few of my houses in the past, I have always been left very impressed by the attention to detail and service that I received. This prompted me to use them again when I decided to rent my house out. I called into the Barry branch with very little knowledge of what I needed or what steps I needed to take. I was introduced to a lovely girl Laura in lettings who informed me of everything that would need to be done in readiness, Laura came out to my property at a convenient time to myself and gave me a realistic quote of what I could expect in the way of rent, nothing was too much trouble and she always had time to explain things every step of the way so that I was always fully informed. A week after my house was advertised and on the first viewing she found me a lovely tenent for the full rental price and made sure that all the vigorous checks were done and in place.
I ended up having problems with a company that I used to provided a gas safety certificate on my boiler, Pete from lettings had contacted the company on my behalf without me having to even ask and had sorted it all out so that it didn't cause any problems with the tenancy.
So I am more than happy with the impeccable service and support which was second to none that I received through Peter Alan with Laura and Pete and would definitely recommend their service to anyone that is thinking of becoming a Landlord or continuing a portfolio.

I just popped in to Peter Alan's Barry branch and sat down with a lovely girl called Amy. She offered me so much advise on a difficult situation for me and seemed really caring. Of all the questions I had she seemed very knowledgeable and knew the area really well. When the time is right for me to get back on the property ladder, Peter Alan in Barry will be the first place I go to especially after finding out I can sort out the mortgage through their in house mortgage advisor. This is the 2nd house we've rented through Peter Alan and the service we received both times from Pete and Laura has been exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble for them. If they didnt know the answer to any questions we had about the house, they were very proactive about contacting the landlord and finding an answer for us. This will be the agent for me. I have been to a couple of agents in the area to have a chat about what they can offer and all but Peter Alan just seem to be the same. I spoke to Pete the lettings manager and he seemed so interested in my property and was just full of energy and seemed like he really wanted to find me a tenant. I knew the property wasn't quite ready but I left the office just wishing I could have given him the keys right there. A lot of agents go through the same "script" of what they offer but very little seem to be actually interested in the property itself. I'll be speaking to Pete in a couple of weeks to get the property on the market and with his attitude of him WANTING to find me a tenant and it not just being part of the job, it gives me every confidence he'll/they'll find me one.

I currently rent in Whitchurch and dealt with Peter when finding a property there and learnt he was moving to the barry office. I am currently looking to move property again and have contacted Peter in the barry office to see if he could help. Although I have not secured a property, I know he is always looking out for a property for me. As he keeps me updated of any that come to the market that may be suitable for myself. It has taken a lot of stress away from me as I know when a property becomes available, I will be one of the first to know. Always a 5 star service, I cannot fault Peter Beddard.

I am thinking about selling my home and have visited a number of estate agents in Barry. I went to Peter Alan in the town centre and I have to say I wasn’t expecting such a friendly greeting. I met with Denise & Rachel who were in the shop and I must say how professional but easy to talk to they were. I came away feeling confident they would sell my home and provide me great great customer service. I will definitely be using peter Alan in the near future.

I recently purchased a property through Peter Alan in Barry and it has been such a stress free process. I spoke to a few people when viewing the house and making the offer and they were all so polite and professional. Once my offer had been accepted I dealt with the Branch Manager Rachel who was brilliant. She kept me up to date with everything going on with the sale and her professionalism really put me at ease throughout the whole process.

I've recently sold my house through Peter Alan's Barry branch and I have to say that the service was outstanding. The fees may be a little higher than others in the area BUT the service fully justifies their fee. They go above and beyond in their service and all the staff I dealt with were so professional and always knew what was going on no matter who I spoke to. The sales progressor Denise always kept me up to date with the progress and was so helpful and put me at ease when I thought something wasn't going my way with the sale. Denise spoke me through everything and really made me feel relaxed and she was right and it all turned out fine in the end. So thank you to Denise and all the sales team.

I recently let through Peter Alan in Barry and the girl Laura that helped me was so friendly, helpful and understanding and with it being my first time renting, that really did put me at ease. At first I wasn't sure whether to put all my savings I had now as a deposit to buy a house or save a bit longer and rent so it was so helpful when Laura booked me an appointment to see their mortgage advisor Georgina (and it was free to see her for mortgage advice.... who doesn't love a freebie!?).
When it is time for me to get on the property ladder I already know I'll be going back to see the mortgage advisor.
Really pleasant experience.

They ask for a bond plus £100 ontop for the reference
Then also ask for 120 per person for a reference even tho the £100 pound ontop of the bond covers it
Then they also ask for £210 for tenancy prep ..so for me and my partner it would cost us £550 plus £650 bond plus £ 500 rent ..a total of £1700 before we even get the keys for a tiny flat in Barry

I bought my house recently through Peter Alan's Barry branch. The staff there were incredibly helpful throughout the whole buying process. I used the services of the in-house financial adviser to arrange my mortgage and also used a solicitor from their approved list. The sales staff kept me in the loop all the way and nothing was too much trouble. I managed to view, make an offer, exchange and complete in 4 weeks flat! I think that's probably a record! Couldn't have done that without the help of Peter Alan, thank you so much!
