I had a great experience selling my flat with Pilgrims Sales and Lettings, we had 8+ views within 2 weeks of listing and we had sold our flat above the asking price, about 4 weeks after listing.
Pilgrims Sales and lettings are simply superb, they answered all our questions really quickly, gave feedback from every viewing and always went above and beyond without hesitation.
They are a local family owned business, and the honesty and level of support we got easily surpassed that of any of the larger chains in the area (I have used others in the past)
All round a great company to represent you weather selling or letting, would highly recommend.

I had a positive experience as a tenant with Pilgrims Lettings until it came time to return my deposit. Throughout my tenancy, we maintained the property well, and Pilgrims Lettings seemed satisfied with our conduct as tenants. Comments gave on 6 monthly checks of the property were things such as, "WOW!" "This is the best kept rental house I've seen in years", "I wish all tenants were like you".
However, when it was time to return our deposit, I encountered several issues. They insisted I use their recommended cleaner at an unreasonably high cost (original cost of basic clean was over £800+), despite the property being left in a clean and respectable condition. Yes it wasn't "professionally' cleaned and we may have missed the odd cobweb above a kitchen cupboard but the level of cleaning, which included a professional oven clean, did not need to be gone over again at the cost of £500+ which we ended up having to pay to their 'recommended cleaning company'. We had the oven professionally cleaned and they insisted they came back to wipe a 'smear form the glass' as they found this to be unacceptable but instead of this we had to pay for their professional cleaner to clean the oven again! Furthermore, we repainted the entire house, even though the wear and tear was minimal and expected after a long tenancy but this wasn't good enough nor was it acknowledged that we went above and beyond to return the house in a good state. We spent approx. 15 hours cleaning the house, repainting, filling holes, gardening (despite the time of year and weather) just to make sure the house was spotless.
The check out report was not relative to the check in report and it even went into such details as rust on pipes behind radiator. The photos taken on check in were all taken far away from objects and on check out, the photos were VERY close up. When we checked in there were odd cobwebs , dust and the tile grout on the kitchen floor was crumbling away, but we just cleaned this ourselves, a lesson learnt!
The process of getting our deposit back turned into a frustrating and stressful ordeal, and it felt like they were finding ways to withhold as much of it as possible. Carla was extremely patronising and rude on the phone and in the end any correspondence was done via email. I believe this approach to deposit returns is unfair and not reflective of the general wear and tear that naturally occurs over time.
I would caution anyone considering renting with Pilgrims Lettings to be aware of their stringent and costly requirements for deposit returns. In the end we lost over £1000 of our deposit.
Overall the response to maintenance issues was ok, the only issues we really had was the oil filled heating system and whenever we had this refilled it seemed to need resetting which we couldn't do ourselves. Sometimes we went without heating for a few days but had the immersion heater for hot water and they provided some electric oil filled radiators. There was also an issue with the oil reader upon check in which took several months to rectify and alot of chasing but we got there in the end!

Pilgrims, agent Elliot Griffin, were estate agents for a property we put an offer on. The offer was accepted in writing. While we were sorting out soliciting etc, took about a week because it was over Eastern, Elliot let other interested parties view the property without us knowing it and then we got a phone call after eastern saying that now someone else had purchased the property.
So, if you deal with Pilgrims and Elliot Griffin, an accepted offer doesn't mean anything. Be aware!

Pilgrims were our liaison while we rented a house in Send for 16 months. They were fast to organise us as new tenants, they used a good online system which I've had no issues with to sort out all the documentation. They have been responsive during our tenancy. They had to deliver us the bad news that the landlord wanted to move back into the property early, ending our tenancy before we expected to move out, but Pilgrims were very good at bringing us properties to view before they even came onto the market.

After receiving a direct marketing letter claiming to have tenants for my property. I skeptically contacted Pilgrims to see whether their enquiry was genuine. After the initial conversation with James the service received was 2nd to none. I can happily say that great tenants were secured within 3 days of instructing Pilgrims and would highly recommend to any Landlords struggling to secure new tenants, 5*.

Rented a flat managed by them, found some faults that needed addressing and was promised to be fixed... Ended up 5 months with occasionally having hot water (keep in mind we had a 5 mo mh old baby at the time, had no support... Got constantly harassed and in the end just had to move elsewhere
Stay well clear of any of their advertised properties!

5* Service! The team at Pilgrims found me superb tenants very quickly and have restored my faith in lettings agents! Their customer service, diligence and attention to detail was second to none. I will be using them as my agent for the foreseeable future and would highly recommend to anybody looking for a new agent.

I rented from Pilgrims last year - they were thorough, quick and professional. Ive rented for the last five years and they were great...thank you :)....im not sure about the other review... but they were great :)
