While I was still living in the flat near the end of my tenancy, viewings were scheduled in dense back-to-back blocks that seriously impacted privacy and normal use of my home. When I proposed reasonable alternative timings, there was little flexibility once appointments had been arranged.
I submitted a formal complaint with email evidence, but the “final response” was two sentences and didn’t engage with the issues, just a refusal and a signpost to the redress scheme. They later replied publicly inviting me to contact them, but they’ve gone quiet privately and still haven’t provided a proper point-by-point response.

Wow. What an amazing experience I had dealing with Andrew at Sharpes Estates. I have been using a much larger local agent locally but over the years felt that there no longer was a personal touch so decided to look at Sharpes Estates. I contacted Andrew who came around the next day and had a look at the property. He gave me some tips on what would be good improvements to make to get it let asap. I proceeded to organise the renovations. Once done Andrew came around and gave me a figure of what we can achieve for the rental. He booked 3 viewings on the same day and we had 3 offers at full asking. What more can a landlord ask for? Andrew is an outstanding estate agent, on the ball and really knows the market well. Excellent service. All phone calls and emails were promptly responded to. I was greeted by name each time I telephoned, recognising my number, making me feel confident and looked after. I was given sound advice on the condition and appearance the property should be in for both the photography and viewings. I was emailed and texted each time a viewing was arranged, notified which team member would be there and the name of the viewer. I was also debriefed two days later and the feedback was very useful. The entire process went very smoothly and took just two weeks from accepting the offer to tenants moving in. I was updated with progress throughout the process and Sharpes Estates guided me through and liaised frequently with me, leaving me very little to do myself. I can recommend them very highly.

Since the start everyone has been so helpful and accommodating as me and my sisters were finding our home to be.
Finding a home after just finishing university can be extremely difficult especially as three sisters, however the staff were helpful and answered any questions we had making our experience that much easier. Highly recommend this agency when looking for a home.
Amanda was really helpful when organising the viewing virtually aswell as answering questions related to the all aspects of the property.

Sharpes Estates have done a wonderful job of renting the house my brother and I grew up in on the Morden. They found the right tenant, who loved the house. They were working on behalf of the seller but still made sure we were taken care off too and both buyer and seller were very impressed. Buying a house can be complex and we really benefited from the experience of Lauren, she really pushed for things to move forward and helped us unlock all the issues we came across. She clearly had a lot of experience and drive too which really helped unlocking most issues. She was extremely responsive on emails and was one of the few individuals in the process who was really effective and made things happen for us. I rarely recommend firms or people but definitely a big recommendation here for Sharpes Estates and Lauren. Good to benefit from their experience and great interactions.

Unprofessional experience- WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
We paid a holding deposit, were fully transparent about using a guarantor. The agent failed to communicate our guarantor situation to the landlord, then
tried to blamed us that the offer has been withdrawn as we didn’t complete the application form within the 48 hours deadline- Even though it had only been 44 hours instead of the agreed written 48 hours deadline.
Sadly, reading through other the comments, this isn’t the first time where this agency takes deposit and denies you the property.

I’ve rented from various agents in London and Colliers Wood/Wimbledon over the years and it rarely feels like they care. This is not true of Sharpes Estates. They are a true neighbourhood business who play a role in the community and care about landlords and tenants alike and try to genuinely broker positive relationships. Andrew has been a great partner to our family and, I believe, to his clients whose house we rented. They will have a my business when I decide to sell or let a SW London property.

I do not recommend!
I recently rented a flat through this agency and the service was terrible. I had issues uploading my ID as part of the background check and I spent a whole morning trying through different ways (mobile, laptop, different browsers etc).
When I called for help, the woman I spoke to told me it wasnt her job to make sure I submit my ID for the check and it was mine. She said I need to call the outsourced company myself to figure out what to do, offering me no suppoet. She was very rude and unprofessional. I did it myself in the end but to not have any support from the state agent (who get paid for onboarding of tenants) and to be spoken to in this manner, was extremly upsetting.

Appalling service. Between viewing and moving into a rented property there was a serious leak leading to a serious damp problem. The landlord told me that she found the damp and asked Sharpes to notify me to give me the option not to move into the property. They failed to do this and the first I knew of it was when I arrived at the property on the day I moved in. Having paid a 5 week deposit and 6 months rent in advance I am now stuck in a damp, stinking property awaiting the problems to be resolved which could take months. Sharpes have seemingly proved themselves to be untrustworthy and downright greedy, why else would they have neglected to inform me of the problems? The flat is damp and stinks, as do my clothes and possessions.....not to mention the health risks!

I had a viewing on Saturday for a one bedroom flat just near Wimbledon. The viewing was done by a young man by the name of Jan, he was excellent! To book the viewing was very simple and straightforward, I had a conversation over the phone about the property I was interested in and the business seemed to care for my needs. This business is very professional, they arrived perfectly on time for my viewing and let me take my time around the property without feeling rushed, unlike some other estate agents. In the last 6 months, we have needed new tenants for 2 flats. Both needed remodelling, one of them extensively.
Sharpes found new tenants despite their shabby appearances, guided us at to what should be done and reassured the new people that we would keep our word. It worked because there's trust on all sides which comes from our relationship with Sharpes, now in its second decade.
I much appreciate that most of the people, over the years, have treated our properties well and have never given us any problems regarding rent nor the contracts.
The kinds of problems and mistrust one reads about in the rental sector have not visited us. We are indebted to Sharpes.
I wrote the above a year ago. The tenants 12-month contracts are being renewed by Sharpes. I continue to be very pleased with their professionalism!

A few people here seem to be complaining about trivial things, but I'll tell you when I moved out of a Sharpes property, got all my deposit back in one day, no questions asked. I moved to another property in Colliers Wood and I can see reviews of the estate agent and how they are shafted for their deposits and I'm expecting a big battle now. I told Andrew I liked his style when he showed me around in 2012. He was firm but fair. Real Estate is obviously full of shysters, Sharpes is as fair as you will get

I advise you to take GREAT CARE. Here's my story with Sharpes Estates:
I enquired about viewing property A. I arrange a viewing, like property, and decide I'd like to rent.
I write Shapes Estates an email, saying I'd like to rent property A. They instruct me to pay and sign a contract as soon as possible, to avoid losing the property. I comply.
I soon later realise that the contract they sent through was for a different property - property B - which was £200 more expensive.
At this point, however, there is no way for me to get back my holding deposit.
I'm not sure whether to attribute the fact that they sent me the wrong contract to malice or to incompetence - either way, I advise you all to take GREAT CARE with this company.

Terrible Customer Service. We saw a property on Wednesday last week. We liked it and wanted to have a second viewing as my fiance was at work at the time. The agent pushed for us to make an offer anyway within 2 hours. We did even without a second viewing. We heard NOTHING for 1 week, kept calling for an update and we kept being told that they cannot get in touch with the landlord as he is on holiday. Every day we were told we would get a call back with an update and nobody ever called! I called again today as in the meantime we were losing other properties we were interested in, they finally called back and told me the landlord had already accepted another offer? I thought they could not get in touch with him up until this morning and now they tell me the property is gone. What a waste of time. Would not recommend.

I have been renting in London for a number of years and have found Sharpes Estates to be the best estate agents I've used yet. My sister and I were found a lovely little flat in Wimbledon in a very short amount of time, moving in was made extremely easy and we were always able to get hold of someone in the office when needed. We have had very few problems with the flat but when we have, someone from Sharpes is always available to either speak with on the phone; or on a couple of occasions, come round to the flat. I rented a flat via Sharpes for 2 years. I was very happy with the service I received. Easy process to sign the contract and easy to return the flat back and do the check out once we decided to leave.
Within the same week we had our deposit back!
The only reason why I didn't give the 5 star is because there is a yearly fee to pay to renew the contract, whereas as a tenant I prefer to pay one off fee and forget about it. However also on that, they were able to compromise. Also when we needed to leave, they were really understanding and we were able to extend the contract for a further month after the expire date without any problem. I wish all the estate agents were so easy going like Sharpes...

Was greeted by other potential tenant for the same room! (you could imagine how embarrassed we both felt)
Then was told by sharps agent "this was the only slot we had so had to be done" By then walking into the property the agent the admitted
"This is the first time we have seen this property"
Ok great so not only do you advertise on ur web site "quality properties" they don't even do the research to ensure your online claims.
Going further into the viewing it was just awful and un-hygienic. the bathroom was just disgusting and even the landlord just walked in and out and tried to rush the whole thing in a matter of seconds, and to be honest this is not what you should expect from any estate agent.
I would advise that they listen to this and pay attention and if they are going to advertise a property.. do it right and don't just go on the word of shoddy landlords, thats just bad practice.

I rented a shared house this year from Sharpes and they were absolutely fantastic throughout the tenancy period- so helpful. If anything was a problem, we got in touch with them and they sorted it almost immediately. Very friendly and easy to deal with. I would thoroughly recommend!

I have been letting with Sharpe’s for about 2 years now, My experience with them in a whole has been really great. Any problems I have had, have been dealt with quickly and professionally. I have called and emailed them a couple times in the last 2 years and they have always been very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend using them.
