We asked David Bruckert (of Skilton and Hodge) to act as agent in selling the House of an elderly relative after speaking to several agents, the majority of which came from large agencies. He was straight forward in discussing how he would go about selling the house and what we should expect to realise from the sale. The fee was very reasonable and the service he promised was comprehensive and personal. He lived up to these early impressions. He prepared excellent media for the sale, including a first class video that he introduced and narrated. He continued to communicate regularly and incisively, including through the untimely death of the owner, the granting of probate and the inevitable though limited chain resolution issues. I wish we could give David more than 5 stars! David sold our house recently and went above and beyond what we expected from an estate agent. In a sale that ended up not being as straightforward as we had initially hoped, and took a lot longer than any of us anticipated, David continued to regularly keep us in the loop and always made sure ourselves and our buyers knew where we were at and what was going on within the chain. I recently had to sell my mothers house after her death and David could not have been more helpful and informative. The house was marketed quickly and included a personal video with David talking through the aspects of the house. He was always available and would answer any queries without delay. David from Skilton and Hogg was excellent! I sought David's help when a large local Daventry estate agent failed to get any viewings on my house and didn't commnicate with me. David's attention to detail when it came to marketing was second to none, with professional photos and video walkthrough, which I think really made the difference. He was always on the end of the phone for any questions or enquiries, at most hours. The purchase I was making was a complex one, which caused several legal delays. What stood out, was that David was the only estate agent (or professional) in the chain to continuously communicate with all parties in the chain - chasing solicitors for responses and keeping buyers and sellers informed to ensure that everything completed smoothly. David has to be the one of the nicest people to use for property transactions.....in what can be a most trying and worrying time,he is calm,reliable and efficient. His video tours of the properties for sale is what convinced me to use him for my sale. His marketing is professional and effective, he always attended viewings of our property and was available to answer questions at almost any time. 2 MONTHS, from the first call I received from David, regarding putting the house on the market to completion. I dont put this down to luck, it is down to his experience, hes people skills, and seeing each client as a person. The house I sold was in dire disrepair, and David marketed it so the right buyer could be found. He took his time to understand what happened and even pointed me in the right direction of finding paperwork needed to complete the sale. David was able to find a company to clear the property for me, and took away so much stress and anxiety. He gave me details of solicitors he recommended, and said I should check each one out and also look for my own, so I get an idea of costs and times for selling the property. There was no pressure to use him to sell the property, just good old honesty and trust.
